Great Backup DR Product at the right price
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to setup and monitor the backup jobs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is a little confusing at first. However, after working in it a little, it becomes more familiar. Also the restore process can seem complicated as far as the options provided. Highly suggest reading the user guides on this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to backup critical pieces of our infrastructure onsite and in the cloud for a fraction of the cost of competitor products.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For the cost, you cannot beat this product for what it does. Definitely study up on the user guides when starting to use this product. It will help in navigating the interface and understanding the functions immensely.

Great Enterprise Level backup product
What do you like best about the product?
First and foremost the value you get for the price you pay is great. Vembu is a competitive product to Veeam and Nakivo, yet the pricing is much more pleasant. Also, my support experience with them has been good. They were responsive (even while I was trialing the product) both times I've contacted them. I'm also unsing Vembu to backup to tape, which is great that this is included in the BDR Suite (no add-ons required).
What do you dislike about the product?
If you have very unique and somewhat random backup scheduling needs, Vembu doesn't do that too well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit I've realized is less time Administering backups - creating and changing them is quick. Another very positive benefit is that I've been able to do additional backups since Vembu does the deduplicating/compression natively. Oh, and the storage encryption is all there (and I use my own keys for that).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Vembu is a great choice if you're backing up VMs to disk/arrays/SAN/NAS/tape. Also look into their Offiste DR offering.
Vembu Backup and Disaster Recovery
What do you like best about the product?
As an MSP we looked into a variety of different DR and backup products to accomplish some goals we had in our DR strategy.
Our biggest challenge was to find a vendor that would allow for us to host our own backups (both for our own infastracture but also to sell as a service to our clients). Vembu ticked the boxes well for low cost of entry and license fee structure and gives you the ability to host your own backup data or if you want use their cloud storage. We are now on our second iteration of our BDR server as the old server could no longer accomidate the storage or performance needs that our growing DR SaaS offering demanded. Support has been very responsive and helpful even in situations where configuration of the hosts or client side machines might have been on contributing factor to whatever issue may have been causing a backup to fail to complete.

What do you dislike about the product?
BDR and OffsiteDR (the 2 major components of Vembu's product) had a slight learning curve that seemed a bit touch and go to adobt initially. We have been using vembu for 4 years and the product, support, and documentation have developed and matured a great deal since we first came online with them. Online video demos and whitepapers vembu has did get us through most of the questions and configuration challenges during early onboarding, but it has taken some time to really fully comprehend and understand the in's and out' of the software as a whole. Possibly some onboarding assistance would be great for new MSP's looking to use Vembu in the way that we are would be great to offer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vembu has been able to solve our need of using their product as an MSP SaaS offering to our customer base, while allowing us to host all of the customers data internally with a product that makes sense for our business model. With a lower cost to entry over its short list of competitors the SaaS we have created out of the Vembu product has been profitable for us to the metrics that we had placed around DR SaaS in our suite of services portfolio.

Dont hesitate to ask their support for help if you are needing assistance, but send complete lists of questions compiled and clearly stated.
Daily backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
Vembu facilitated the daily backups of files we were working on and were updated every day. In order to avoid file loss, I chose to use Vembu, as it was recommended by other colleagues. Since these files were not on a specific file server, I installed the application on the very computer that served as a "server".
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite the easy setup, this is not a simple application. It took some time to get it set up the way you wanted. More offline documentation would be welcome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
File backup on small local file server, daily on external media.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The only option used was to backup files daily, for this function the tool behaved well.
Good backup, problems issuing free license
What do you like best about the product?
Fast and reliable backup, also easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It proved difficult to swap the license from the free trial to the premium one. I assumed it would be easier after the trial ended but that was not so. Ran through the license change multiple times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moved away from unreliable Windows Server backup to a HyperV solution that support file level restore.
Easy to use and reliable backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
At my work we currently implement Vembu for our customers, and Vembu has improved a lot the security level of our customers in general. It's fast, easy to use and has features that most premium backup solutions dont even has. We and our customers are very happy with Vembu.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vembu needs a lot in terms of machine specs, so you must have a good server for installing it.

What do you like best about the product?
At my work, we currently deploy Vembu as an option for our custommers. We trust on Vembu because of the simplicity this software has on most tasks, like creating a backup job, recovering files and doing bare metal recovery. Vembu currently is the solution we most implement by far.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vembu is not a lightweight application. It means that you must have a good machine to implement that backup solution.

The way to manage the backups and restores, was done in a much more effective way after the implantation of Veembu. Creation of practical routines. The easy management. Set up in a way that anyone understands what's being done

At this time there are no major problems reported. Could an email backup be implemented?
