easy and practical for all types of infrastructure
What do you like best about the product?
I can say that I really enjoyed the management of the tool. Because she was able to manage various sizes of infrastructure, from the smallest to the largest. Easy management of backup and restore copies of files, in a practical and fast way.
What do you dislike about the product?
faced some difficulty in configuring VM replication backup. A search was needed to set up work

Vembu is a very complete backup solution, having the most required features in a backup solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's some flaws like the difficulty for restoring some files, but when you get used into it, its easy.

Its an excelent backup solutiono. Recomended for everyone.
Mixed feelings
What do you like best about the product?
The remote backup job was a bit disappointing from a performance standpoint. The restore job, however was done in a flash and up and running in minutes. Something you would really want when you are in dire straits. Getting up and running using the appliance was quite easy. You do have to request the appliance though. Configuring a backup or replication job is quite easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is inconsistent with the status screens as a low point. You really have to go look for the right one and even then Vembu recommends to keep them closed for performance reasons. A bit odd, in my opinion. The whole interface experience has a bit of a learning curve that may not be for everyone. An interface designer would certainly have some tips and tricks here. Not being able to configure network drive mounts to central storage from within the interface is really a lack of functionality and a serious fail. You need serious Linux CLI skills to make that part work properly and you can't really go live without it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
These results were achieved during a test installation and review of the Vembu BDR product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
All in all it does what it needs to do, it has some quirks and it does leaves things to wish for. But it also does some stuff really great and if that is what you’re looking for, this might be a solution for you.

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface...very easy to use and to find items.
What do you dislike about the product?
Email notifications...it only allows one email address and I need to send to more than one person

What do you like best about the product?
I like the incremental schedule, it helps to keep 1 copy and only do modified files.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of right now there are no downfalls to this system.

Keeping all of my vms backed for the just incase.
Easy to use UI
What do you like best about the product?
The UI is very intuitive and easy to navigate. I love being able to restore to bare metal.

Vembu has met my needs perfectly. I have not come across a feature that is missing or anything I do not like.

Backup solution for VMware environment. I have about 20 VMs. I love the ability to restore directly to a host/datastore.
Just works!
What do you like best about the product?
Quick and relatively easy deployment. I've used the free version to backup a tiny two-node Hyper-V HA cluster. Installation was a breeze and in less then an hour, everything worked as planned.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. For my limited purpose, it just worked right out of the box.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage a few small HA clusters at different sites across the country that, in essence, run just a single application on one VM. The application has to run on-site and on-line backups are not practical (limited bandwidth) in some cases and not possible in others. Vembu solves this problem neatly, providing us with a cheap (free!) solution that allows us to reliably backup everything to an on-site NAS.
