Best In Class Monitoring

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about eG is it delivers complete visibility across our entire infrastructure from Layer 1 to Layer 7, switches, LAN, to hosts to applications like Citrix, SQL, HYper-V and Exchange. We never have to guess - why is it slow. In a few clicks we know the root cause.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing really bad to say about eG. I have been using the product for over 12 years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
eG delivers huge value. In some cases it has allowed us to avoid buying new hardware. The old approach of throwing $$$ at slow performance is mitigated because eG pinpoints the root cause. This saved us tens of thousands of dollars by avoiding the purchase of new/additional servers. We are able to maximize completely the existing hardware we have.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are considering a monitoring suite, try eG. Do the trial - it's free, it's very non-intrusive and you will see results in 24 hrs.

What do you like best about the product?
The eG product provides me with so much visibility, whilst presenting the data in a very useful way. I now run the product across several of our clients, and I can now work on more important requirements with confidence that the IT infrastructure is running soundly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Product appears to be expensive, but once you realise the capability of the product along with being able to easily extend visibility without having to implement a second, third or more products. Therefore, the dislike of eG is having to try justify the investment earlier on - rather than having to wait for the customer to realise this 1 or 2 years down the track....making it more difficult to replace the now 4 or 5 products they have invested in since as short term solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have solved several issues with the product. Many of which I would have never even been aware of was an issue, or would have never have found or linked with the root cause. After hour callouts have significantly dropped, and in fact this Chistmas / New year period I had 'no callouts'. This was due eG helping us to be proactive to ensure no upcoming issues prior to the break.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go with a single pane of glass NOW. Signing up to a quick fix, cheaper or alternative product - may simply mean you have to sign up with a different product later on for different visibility / area. It is worth the investment now, and then grow the product from there - overall so much more affordable then ending up with 5 different products / upgrades, agents - and no triaging / root cause analysis.
