Perfect for Freelancing
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about WP Engine is how easy they make everything. If you need a staging environment - boom - there you go. If you need a CDN set up - boom - there you go. If you need SSL - boom - you get it. Also the live chat support is amazing!
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing may seem initially a little high with what you can usually find at other places in regards to basic hosting, the pricing tiers are annoying too. Basic at $30 and the next level is $100...kind of a leap...
Also..setting up the domain mapping is a bit of a headache as the DNS records seem to take longer than normal.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a freelance business owner I relay on the ability to set up quick SECURE staging environments and deploy sites quickly to my clients servers. Super easy to get things done with just pushing buttons. Also, if I have any tricky server questions the live support team is available even at 3am in the morning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look into pantheon.io as well. I haven't used it but I've heard good reviews about them as well. Pricing is the same so I'm not going to switch, pantheon does Drupal hosting as well if you need your agency to be more flexible.
We love the additional security and backups they provide
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it's the closest you can come to a managed site without it actually being managed, It's great knowing that you don't have to remember to keep up with updates as they are done automatically,, backups are regular and included in the price along with image optimization for speed. Support is great too.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's quite expensive for Wordpress hosting, also their basic plans are 1 site or 10 sites and with the 1 site plan you can't do multi-sites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a solution that was secure and backups and covered updates. Our webs team is part-time so we often don't remember to keep our sites up-to-date so knowing that this is covered is great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The 10 site plan really is the better plan if you run multiple sites, you can also run multi-sites within this plan. Setup is a bit hard especially if you are using 1on1 for domains but they prove support for all of this. Once setup running it is a dream, require hardly any regular maintenance as they cover all of this.
Best professional hosting for Wordpress
What do you like best about the product?
WP Engine support and backend is the best I've ever had to use. They're UX is and Cpanel are clear and modern. The 24 hour chat support and phone support is staffed by technical people and i haven't had an issue yet. Deploying sites and creating staging environment is super fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
very little is wrong with WPengine. Sometimes it can be a bother to not have the customization of adding on extra thinks (like a client portal built outside of WP) but thats extremely small and rare.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
WpEngine has a no worry solution for automatic backups and free SSL is great for $30/month. They scale to our needs as well so we never have to worry about being throttled if we get a lot of press. and at $1 for every 1000 visitors over your quote, hits one of the cheapest solutions
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wp engine is fantastic if all your needs are met within the wordpress ecosystem. otherwise it can be challenging to find work arounds.
Awesome WordPress hosting
What do you like best about the product?
Awesome WordPress hosting with great support. The support is killer-good. Also their deployment workflow is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The email notifications regarding deployment status never seem to make it to me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hosting for a site that is stable, reliable and has environments for development,QA and production.
Very Helpful Support, Intuitive Interface, and Powerful Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Out of all of the features WP Engine offers, hands down my favorite is the git integration. Allowing things to be version controlled is of upmost importance. And then to one up that, version controlling multiple environments (staging/production) makes me day-to-day much more headache free.
What do you dislike about the product?
Haven't really run into anything that I didn't like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wordpress hosting for our website and all associated files.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the effort to set up your git workflow. You won't regret it and you'll be able to build/deploy so much quicker.
WPE - The best hosting platform for WordPress sites
What do you like best about the product?
Secure, simple to use, industry best for support.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you fall a the bottom end of a predefined hosting plan pricing per site for hosting is pretty high compared to other hosts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Downtime is zero, hacks are non existent, hosting is powerful, and backups are automatically done daily. It's taken 80% of the stress out of the evils of cheap hosting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sign up and don't look back
Great Hosting Provider!
What do you like best about the product?
WP-Engine is incredibly easy to use and setup. They have a website migration tool that automates the process of moving from your old server to the new WP-Engine server.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm a customer for more than 2 years and I am yet to have a complaint about the WP-Engine platform. Great support and a rock-solid system that just works.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a WordPress theme developer and I host my various themes and plugins on a WP-Engine Multisite network. I receive 40k+ visits per month and all sites perform perfectly.
Very Happy With Our Move to WP Engine!
What do you like best about the product?
Working with the friendly and knowledgeable technicians. Help is always a quick chat away!
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, there is nothing that we've found to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We love working with a company that is specific to the WordPress platform. This is primarily what we use for our web clients, so it helps to work with a company that's so focused on doing that really well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're moving over from another hosting provider, the migration process couldn't be easier. If you do have any snags in the beginning or along the way, their chat feature is super responsive and the techs are always able to help out. I feel they go above and beyond expectations.
Premium Hosting for Wordpress
What do you like best about the product?
The Customer Support is Phenomenal! Multiple times we've been helped quickly and efficiently by individuals that are up beat, communicative and are willing to go the extra mile to help you out.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really a dislike but it is definitely geared for WordPress.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Website Hosting
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's worth it.
I personally despise WPE, There technical support is crap and working with their servers is a pain
What do you like best about the product?
The only thing they have going for them is they offer somewhat performant servers if you're willing to pay for an enterprise type account.
Their one click staging and backup is pretty useful.
Their one click staging and backup is pretty useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
everything!
Their support staff are terribly unhelpful. In the past years every time that I have had to log in to talk to their support for some reason they are about as helpful as a spoon with no handle. They constantly tell me that simple things like running a wp-cli command are outside of their scope.
The restrictions they place on their customers is beyond painful. They don't let you do anything. You can only deploy with SFTP and git, which is a joke.
On top of all that, it is difficult to test your code in staging because they actually have a different configuration in staging than in production.

none. The only thing WP Engine has helped me profit from is migrating their existing customers onto better platforms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Carefully consider if they are right for you. There are other, much better offerings in the managed WordPress area. Make sure you consider them.
