Newcomer to cloud backups worth consideration
What do you like best about the product?
Price for the features available is fantastic. Continual improvement in the product. They've added some features we've requested as well.

What do you dislike about the product?
Only limitation or issue we've had is the max VM size when you get up into the terabytes level which prevents us from using it for some of our larger VMs.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've increased our backup retention while at the same time reducing costs considerably vs our previous provider. We've also experienced far less issues with failed backups.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we use it for VM backups mostly...backup to cloud is a main point that helps us....also ease of setup and management is a plus
Simple SaaS backup solution that works
What do you like best about the product?
It's an off prem solution that I do not have to worry about maintaining. I enjoy that I can access my backups and files from anywhere that I can log into the web console for Clumio.
What do you dislike about the product?
The vCenter integration and web UI have some inconsistencies like the number of vCenters that you can view. Some of the pages don't appear to have dynamically created content and you need to refresh the entire page to view the new content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a better solution than what Veeam was able to provide. Clumio allows us to be flexible and just tag a VM in vCenter and it automagically seeds in Clumio and a day later we have a backup chain that I can restore files. Very easy to get into compliance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The UI is not very click friendly. The front end needs user polish and a modern feel. It gets the job done, but it's a bit clunky and cumbersome to navigate.

Product pricing definitely blows the competition out of the water.

I honestly cannot come up with anything that would be a significant deficiency.

We're using the product for immutable cloud backups that could be retained for seven years.

What do you like best about the product?
Clumio provides air-gapped, immutable protection while keeping configuration relatively simple. We also just got set up using single sign-on, which makes user management easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know if we dislike it yet, but we're looking to expand our usage within the apis offered.The more robustness there to automate functionality, the better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most of our concerns are around simplicity around security. We wanted backups stored off-site in an immutable capacity. That way if a bad actor got access to our account, they wouldn't be able to compromise our backups as well. Clumio makes it less complex to accomplish this.
Easy Backup Solution
What do you like best about the product?
I have never used Clumio until I started at this company. This was their backup solution, so I was the one who had to create the backup documentation. Clumio made it easy to follow and understand where to click and how to find the backups for complete backup and incremental. The restoration process is just as easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The built-in reporting could be a bit more robust. If we could edit or create manual reports, that would be great or get alerts via email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were needing a straight forward backup and restoration solution.

What do you like best about the product?
The main draw of Clumio was the Immutability of the backups created.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the daily summary email I get was more descriptive. On the report, I see 100% of my Cluster/instances/DBs were backed up successfully, but the "backup success" is 98%
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We know that if an AWS account was compromised or lost to a disaster, we have a way to ensure we can access a valid backup.
Clumio is great, I didn't put 10 as pricing is a bit expensive.

Upside is, once you set it up you can forget about it, all automated.

Pricing goes up quickly when you start adding vm's/items.

Compliance, most of the certification needs offsite backup.
Great DR Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Clumio is a easy straight forward setup which only requires to setup cloud connectors for each site. From there you can go to the GUI and view all VM"s and choose which ones to back up. Also, there is proactive monitoring, so you will be contacted if there are any issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
You cannot restore files directly back to the production VM. It has to be downloaded from the Clumio portal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Clumio, we can meet our DR plan of having an offsite copy of all of our VM's on the cloud for a certain retention period without the headache of maintaining our local site branch DR site in the past.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Clumio is a great DRaaS solution for companies that don't have the physical infrastructure for a DR site and need a DR solution without the high capital & maintenance costs.
A low cost Cloud backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
Clumio is designed for Vcenter and makes AWS affordable for smaller data centers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to the nature of how it backs up, every time we have an unexpected outage, it takes a while to fix all the connecotrs. Those outages are rare.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Off-site cloud backups!

If you do any migrations or planned downtime, make sure you stop all your backups first.
