PRTG monitors server health, including CPU, memory, and disk usage, ensuring servers run efficiently. By identifying and addressing issues before they escalate, PRTG helps maintain network uptime and reliability.

What do you like best about the product?

PRTG makes it easy to monitor a large number of sites remotely. We have 50 sites across the east cost and a small IT staff. Before we were using PRTG, we relied on users reporting outages, which could be hours or sometimes even days. They are also easy to set timing of alerts.

It can be a lot to set up all the network probes when first starting.

PRTG lets us get ahead of network outages. It alerts us as soon as there is a problem and what circuit is having the issues. We have fiber and coax back ups at all our locations. Without PRTG, it would be hard to figure out just which piece of equipment was actually the issue.

there is no Linux version of the server or the probes, the change in pricing is prohibitive

control the use of bandwidth and the status of Internet access to redirect traffic if necessary, anticipate hardware failures, control the use of resources, detect abnormal uses of resources

The best part of PRTG is how quickly you can be up and running. From the time you install it, you can be up and running in pretty short order with monitors and alerts thanks to the amount of built in templates and sensors.

I've been using PRTG for a while now and honestly, there's not much that I dislike about it.

PRTG is giving us the ability to be proactive on potential issues.

PRTG is a great tool for monitoring our network servers. It is extremely useful for knowing the status of the servers when they become problematic, rather than being contacted by a user in case of a failure.

A bit of complexity on custom probes, the configuration is not necessarily straightforward but it is very practical.

PRTG allows us to quickly identify network issues and be more responsive.

Latency, uplinks monitoring. Preventative analysis by a graph check and E-mail notification.

A simple way to monitor network performance and alerting. Easy to integrate with elements that you want to monitor for daily monitoring use. Easy to implement in small or large networks. Sometimes the customer support may take some time to response, but it will be entertained within 24 hours.

New pricing structure can be a headache.

When other monitoring EMS having difficulties to integrate, PRTG provided a simplify ways to add, modify existing nodes that you want to monitor and it speeds up your project implementation to end users.
