DOMO is an amazing product that has changed the way we run our business
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to build Data Flows and Beast mode functions to quickly manipulate data
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really much to dislike. It would be nice to have a way to organize beast modes so they could be instantly added from existing sources when new data sources are created.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the problems we are trying to solve is reducing the amount of time used to produce excel documents. The ability to build apps has eliminated some of our need to manually produce documents.

having all the data in one place and being able to send out numerous reports frequently to numerous clients

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, UI, collaboration and domo buzz to help center conversations around your business data, domo apps and connectors to help get up and running fast and encourage best practices, and customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The flipboard effect in the ios app. Seriously, tell Josh James to stay out of the app design process ;-). I want to be able to flick quickly from top to bottom and scroll through my pages fast. With the flip effect I'm lost as to where I am...in the middle of page? Toward the end? Who knows?! There is no scroll bar to the right that gives me any indicator of how far I am down the page or how long it is or where I am.
Besides that little annoyance, the product for the most part is great. All of the new stuff coming out has solved the majority of our hiccups with the product. I would, however, like to see an easier way to compare this year vs. last year on a card with a simple click, and for domo to provide more apps for ecommerce companies to help us create relevant cohorts of our customers and then track their progress and to determine things like life time value of a customer, etc.

Domo has a required a change in thinking for our company. At first we threw all the data up into Domo and saw a lot of pretty cards. Now we are ripping a lot of that out and getting down to basics and minimizing cards to those that ask important business questions that can lead to action. That has helped us get more out of Domo.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the simplicity in creating cards and actively editing datasets for cards with beastmodes. As well the more involved tasks of creating dataflows and ETLs with Magic. Domo is great because with all of it's tools it provides a complete experience for every level of user.
What do you dislike about the product?
I VERY MUCH dislike the user levels. The participant level is far too expensive, especially when considering that the license will sometimes be used as a publication group. We need a publication group license at $250 max each and participant lower. Just remember that I can make dynamic slideshows in DOMO for FREE and send them based on filtered cards to my people to use. I get a very small improvement of ease of use if I make them a participant user with a publication group and now I have to pay $750. It's VERY ridiculous especially when the vision is to have as many employees using DOMO as possible.
ALSO, please open up the API soon so that data can be extracted from DOMO and it can become a true Data Warehouse.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We love outsourcing and using third-party softwares. The benefits of tracking all of those softwares in one place is amazing, plus using dataflows to complete robust transforms on datasets that would slow local resources.

Ongoing attrition of print media coupled with pivoting for digital audience growth. Transparency of the KPIs.

What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive features and functionality -- seamlessly consolidates datasources
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints so far....................

Identifying "hidden" trends and lifts in conversions by week, month, quarter, etc.
On The Rise
What do you like best about the product?
Speed, Time to market, ability to quickly bring in disparate data sources transform data and output mobile cards and alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacking ability to generate financial report layouts similar to capabilities with Business Objects. This makes it harder and more expensive as we need to invest in an app. Needs ability to output pdf's for financial tabular reports. Needs a UI for app building that allows a novice to drag and drop features together to form their own app rather than coding it out.
Analyzer should allow common fields across datasets to be filtered together so card underneath refresh without having to flip to individual data set.

Advertising campaign management across multiple platform datasets. Financial reporting to retire our Business Projects platform. CPM and rate calculators for pricing based on historical data.
Giving us visibility into data we couldn't see before
What do you like best about the product?
The options we now have to our access our data and the visual aspect to our data

The lack of granularity for setting up workbench jobs to run. For example, I would like to run a job multiple times a week at specific times of the day.

Seeing and correlating data in a visual manner also decisions to be made quicker

What do you like best about the product?
Platform is very easy to use and looks amazing. It allows us to democratize data across our organization and encourages collaboration via the social features. Love ETL and DOMO Buzz.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot get detailed Canadian maps at the city level. No french language. If your organization spans multiple time zones, your current day card can show no data as time zone was set to UTC time not end user's time. Administrators should have all access to cards and datasources. Right now unless the cards or datasources is shared, even administrators cannot manage the cards / datasources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Make data transparent and automate reporting so we can have real time data. We were able to save days each month of manual processing of excel and power point presentations.

What do you like best about the product?
* Ease of connecting a variety of systems with minimal upfront work (i.e. can connect to SalesForce in a few minutes without needing to understand their API)
* Flexibility & ease of creating visualizations and setting up the data flows that power them.

* ETL layer is not as robust as other solutions on the market
* Product is still relatively new, so some enterprise-class functionality is not yet part of the platform (but sounds like some is on the roadmap)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to actually get a holistic view of our business, removing data from both real and imagined silos, and shining light on the importance of data & system hygiene. We also have saved a good deal of time that was previously dedicated to manually creating reporting and insights.
