Fully managed, Serverless, key-value NoSQL database

  • December 03, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
It is so cheap, highly available, and scalable. Dynamo streams provide a way to capture the events and processes in our way. Milli-second latency can be achieved by DAX.
What do you dislike?
Cannot do ad-hoc queries as a traditional database. It has a steep learning curve.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Cost-Effectiveness, Storing data in multi regions seamlessly, achieving mill-second latency, highly distributed.

Fast and flexible NoSQL server less Database

  • December 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
The best thing about Dynamo DB is DAX Dynamo DB Accelerator, a fully managed in-memory cache that provides fast performance and read and write through cache. And also Secondary index and global secondary index.
What do you dislike?
Everything is on the scale. The only thing that is not good is Dynamo DB TTL. That is, we cant define Time to Live for cache objects.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We are storing data in the form of key-value pairs and performing query operations.

Benefits of DynamoDB

  • December 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
It gives ability to autoscale by tracking how close is usage is to uppar bound. It is mainly considered as a automatic data management system.
What do you dislike?
It is very expensive and workloads performing scans can quickly get cost prohibitive.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
To run relational joins and complex updates it is more beneficial also for storing large amount of infrequently accessed data it is used.

Must try one of the best NoSql DB - Amazon Dynamo

  • December 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Consistent and Fast DB which can handle large size of data very easily. Scalable and very fast in term of processing. Very suitable if you are working on a real time application.
What do you dislike?
The most dislike feature is, it can only be hosted o Amazon AWS and not on other clouds. There is bit less support for querying the database and no support for triggers and joins.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We have a large number of documents and the customer base is very high. We need a DB that is fast and can handle/process a large set of data. So Dynamo is best suited here.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a fast, scalable database that can handle a large set of data, you can go for it. However, querying the data is not as good.

What do you like best?
Its easy to use due to good available documentation on aws.
What do you dislike?
The user interface on aws console keeps on changing
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Used dynamo db to store the status of our requests, don't know about financial benefits though.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I could say for someone developing a small to mid sized project on aws, it could be beneficial to stick with dynamo db
