Eliminates human errors by consistently processing 100 percent of the tasks each time without requiring any human intervention

  • August 01, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I am a developer, and I use UiPath to extract PDFs for invoices and logistics in the banking industry.

UiPath can be deployed either on-premises or in the cloud, depending on the customer's requirements.

How has it helped my organization?

There are times when the logic is difficult, but the majority of the time, it is easy to build automation using UiPath.

UiPath enables us to implement end-to-end automation, which is essential for our customers. We gather all the requirements from the customer, analyze their feasibility, and proceed to the development phase where we build bots according to the customer's needs. After that, we move on to User Acceptance Testing to ensure the bots meet expectations. Finally, we deploy the automation into production.

UiPath aids in enhancing organizations by cutting down costs and saving time. Without UiPath, a task like collecting and uploading information that typically takes humans around 40 minutes can be completed by the UiPath bot in just ten minutes.

Our customers primarily use UiPath for cost savings.

In addition to saving time, UiPath also eliminates human errors by consistently processing 100 percent of the tasks each time without requiring any human intervention.

UiPath helps reduce our customer's on-premises footprint.

UiPath Academy is excellent for learning about the solution's capabilities and how it works, especially in the beginning. It provides end-to-end courses and certifications for both beginners and advanced users.

UiPath accelerates digital transformation and reduces costs by eliminating the human element. However, this transformation does require IT application support for configurations and security.

What is most valuable?

UiPath's most valuable feature is its ability to view and extract any data throughout the entire development process in the automation framework.

What needs improvement?

The document understanding has room for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

UiPath is extremely stable and that is why customers ask for the solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate UiPath's scalability a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Microsoft Power Automate. When comparing it with UiPath, one significant difference is that we can use UiPath on a local machine to easily build a process, upload it, and create schedules effortlessly. Microsoft has an advantage in the cloud, but it is not as effective on-premises.

How was the initial setup?

The number of people required for each deployment depends on the complexity of each project. For more complex projects, two to three people are required, and it can take up to three weeks to complete.

What was our ROI?

Our customers experience a return on investment when using UiPath, owing to the time saved in performing tasks and the improved accuracy compared to manual efforts.

We can start to see value after one month of using UiPath.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There are two versions of UiPath; the first is the free community version, which is limited, and the second is the premium version which requires payment but is recommended for large-scale productions.

UiPath's cost is acceptable.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate UiPath a nine out of ten. UiPath is reliable and accurate.

The maintenance is easy. We only need one person to monitor and maintain UiPath.

I recommend trying the free community version first to ensure that it meets the organization's requirements and then consider upgrading to the premium version in order to handle larger projects.

Can function 24 hours a day, has a great user community, and reduces the cost of automation

  • July 31, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use UiPath for data scraping to extract information. Specifically, as a financial institution, we gather financial information from various websites. UiPath helps us extract the required data from these web pages. Additionally, we have another use case where we track tickets for vehicles here in Guatemala. Furthermore, we utilize UiPath for internal processes, such as generating reports and publishing information on social media.

How has it helped my organization?

Building automation with UiPath is made easy by the presence of UiPath Academy. We have access to all the basic and intermediate courses, and the solution is designed to be user-friendly.

UiPath enables us to extract information from various websites and share it on social media, which has had a significant impact on our organization.

UiPath's user community provides excellent value. The community has helped us with many things we were not aware of.

We can enroll our employees and programmers in UiPath Academy. This will help our programmers generate ideas about the tasks they can accomplish using UiPath and share their ideas with others.

UiPath facilitates the enhancement of our digital transformation while simultaneously reducing the cost of digital automation.

UiPath has helped us reduce human errors. In the past, we relied on a person to post on our social media every morning, and there were times when they would forget. With UiPath, we can now post every morning on time with zero errors.

UiPath has helped us save employees' time, allowing them to focus on other projects. Previously, our users had to manually generate 50 to 60 reports from various organizations. However, with UiPath, these reports are now generated automatically, freeing up our users' time to analyze the data instead of spending it on report generation.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the ability to utilize UiPath beyond our scheduled work hours, making it available 24 hours a day.

What needs improvement?

UiPath can enhance the number of applications with which we can interact. Technology has a significant impact these days, especially in the realm of social media. If UiPath could interact with more popular applications currently available, it would be highly beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for 15 years.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is excellent and responds quickly.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We also had to pay for Bloomberg Automation in order to effectively utilize UiPath in our organization.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate UiPath a ten out of ten. With UiPath, we are able to accomplish nearly all the ideas that our partners have generated, except for those involving third parties.

I recommend UiPath, but the only way to truly determine its effectiveness within an organization and its potential for cost savings is to give it a try.

Can be integrated with multiple apps like Excel and ChatGPT

  • July 24, 2023
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

We are a gaming company using UiPath to automate some development-related tasks. We integrate the API keys provided by UiPath into our app to extract user data that helps us improve our apps and games. We also use the UiPath application-building solution for Android or web app development.

How has it helped my organization?

Implementing UiPath has enhanced our workflow while reducing time spent on manual tasks, such as talking to customers or collecting user data manually. It provides a fast way to communicate with our clients and obtain data, saving a ton of time. We can reduce the number of team members because most things are managed by the AI.

The AI functionality has been useful for us. UiPath can be integrated with multiple apps like Excel and ChatGPT, so it provides an efficient solution. The AI ability enables us to automate more tasks, and we get feedback on things we should improve. It was previously a manual task to compile all the change requests from our users, but the AI speeds up the process.

UiPath has reduced the costs of our digital transformation because our project requires a lot of integration with web services. This used to cost us a lot of money because we had to pay for cloud services and domain names, but UiPath's API key allows us to integrate our games and applications directly.

The solution has reduced human error because we've automated some tasks that were formerly performed by team members. The tooling has been standardized, and we update it based on our current projects. The task-mining feature in UiPath enables error-free communication with other users in our application.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is UiPath's integration with the AI chatbot for automating customer service in our web applications. We directly integrate ChatGPT to talk to the customer because it performs better than our old Python-based chatbot, which was really slow. ChatGPT has lots of parameters, so we can communicate efficiently with our clients. It's easy to build automations in UiPath using the no-code drag-and-drop interface.

What needs improvement?

Task management is complex and difficult for new users. They should simplify the interface for new users. There are lots of flow charts and automation things in task management, so I would suggest streamlining it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used UiPath for four months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

UiPath has been stable in the past four or five months that I've been using it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I consider UiPath highly scalable. They're constantly adding features, and it's always great to see a solution that stays up to date.

How are customer service and support?

I rate UiPath support eight out of 10. We contacted them a few times because we discovered some bugs while implementing our web applications. Their support team was helpful and fast.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used TXT. Me for our chatbot use cases, but now we use ChatGPT integrated with UiPath.

How was the initial setup?

UiPath's initial setup is straightforward and can be completed with a few clicks. Anyone can do it. We did it all in-house. It is easy to deploy everything in the UiPath solution. It only required two teammates to deploy. The UiPath solution doesn't require any kind of maintenance on our side, but we need to update our bots and apps when new features come out.

What was our ROI?

UiPath has enabled us to reduce the size of our team, saving us some money. The integration is easy. We are also seeing more positive reviews from our users, and our web application is running faster.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

UiPath is a little expensive compared to other solutions I've seen on the market, but you can try it for free for 60 days. It may be too pricey for startups and small businesses, but it will ultimately save your company money, so it's a worthwhile investment.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked around but couldn't find a competing product that offers so many features in one app.

What other advice do I have?

I rate UiPath nine out of 10. The solution provides a lot of value by offering features that competing solutions don't have. It has the latest features like ChatGPT integration and broad app support.

The UI path is somewhat complex, so you should watch their videos. Their own website has tutorial videos that can teach you about the features. There are short videos and also webinars you can attend that explain the latest features to new users.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Automation has resulted in significant savings for our organization and helped reduce our environmental impact

  • July 20, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I've worked in two organizations where I have used UiPath. The first organization was in banking and we used UiPath to help automate banking and financial forms. The second organization, the one I am currently working for, is a technology company with several sub-companies that include banking/financial, the hotel sector, and some overseas organizations. In this organization, we automate tasks that are repetitive, as well as reconciliations.

How has it helped my organization?

The main advantage is that we've synchronized our process across 70 sub-branches covering the entire island of Sri Lanka. Previously, we had three or four employees manually inputting the user entries for the various branches. We eliminated those positions so that data entry is now done by robots and performed in the head office.

We have multiple robots directing all of the data to the robot platform in the head office. We saw value within six months. That's how long it took to eliminate the positions. We stopped recruiting people who had previously done that task. More tasks remain, but the main use case was realized within six months.

The APIs are helpful in our workflow. We have a separate application for the government sector, and the Sri Lankan government provides that API. It's a matter of due diligence because we get the customer information, like the national identity card number. We use the API to exchange that information.

We get quick information about existing loans, including how they perform and whether the borrower is paying on time. If they are red, it means that the payments aren't being made in that period of time. That is the kind of information that is exchanged with the API. We can process 20 or 30 users every minute through the API on average.

Previously, our staff onboarding involved a large number of hard-copy documents—around 50. We have automated what was a long manual process, using automation to go through the documents to create a customized onboarding process, one that includes the government regulatory platforms that we are required to use. We used to have to store those documents in an archive, taking up our storage capacity. With UiPath's OCR platform, we get the information we need to do the task. That has resulted in huge savings for the organization, including environmental savings in terms of trees used for paper. It has also saved a lot of the human effort involved in verifying data in those documents.

In our previous process, the documentation was written entirely by humans, including data entry. That data entry was a critical point but there was a lot of human error. That has been reduced by 85 to 90 percent. In my current organization, we have automated about 70 processes and the amount of employee time saved depends on the process. For example, one of our automated processes has saved eight hours for one FTE, while another has saved 10 FTEs two hours each.

And we have done an end-to-end automation for an insurance platform, for renewals. There is no human touch at all.

UiPath has also helped us to reduce our on-prem footprint, compared to our previous platform. In our previous model, we worried a lot about our data. But with UiPath in the cloud, could our entire database be somewhere else, meaning not in our custody? A few years back, UiPath introduced governance and audit platforms, and that's when we felt that it was okay and that we didn't need on-prem platforms anymore. It was okay, at that point, to go for a cloud platform. We are migrating our on-prem platform to the cloud now.

What is most valuable?

UiPath Orchestrator is incredibly useful. It's the main dashboard platform we use. Orchestrator provides a single platform where we can connect with legacy systems and manage all the bots.

Orchestrator lets us see the entire process across various department units so that they can see the separate tenants and units. The application can multi-task to handle processes even when we have a long queue. If the queue is piling up, we can assign multiple robots to clear the queue quickly. We can find the ETA for the queues and everything inside Orchestrator.

The Studio and development boards are also helpful.

The UiPath community staff is the best I have ever seen. I have worked in several communities, not only in RPA platforms but for other tools, but the UiPath community is the best. I am an active member of the community. If someone has a question, we always look after it there and are very happy to help them.

The UiPath Academy is very useful as well. My colleagues and I are always going through the new features that are available for our automation and new developments. We always keep in touch with the Academy.

What needs improvement?

Previous Orchestrator versions were very user-friendly for the admins and the users, but the new Orchestrator is a bit advanced. If they could reduce its complexity, to something more like what it used to be like, it would be better.

Also, if they can improve the performance of robots, that would be good.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for more than five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There are no issues with the stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable and very easy to scale but, again, that comes back to the pricing.

UiPath scales easily, but scaling for the cloud and on-premises versions is different. For the on-premises solution, we need to add new licenses to scale up. But it's easy in terms of scalability on our end.

How are customer service and support?

Support can be divided into two tiers: enterprise users and community users. Enterprise users like us get high priority because we are dealing with live operations and customers. When we raise a ticket, we have options like critical and onsite support. They reply in one or two hours, or in less than 30 minutes if it's critical. Their technical support is very helpful and the ticketing platform is very good.

We also get a fast response for non-technical customer service issues.

I hope their support can be developed because when there is a difficult case, sometimes it seems that it's a new issue for them as well. I have experienced that. That should be improved a bit. Overall, support is very good, but there is room for a bit of improvement.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We didn't have an automation solution previously. As a developer, there are lots of costs in our country associated with switching to automation. There weren't other solutions that could integrate our entire operation like UiPath. I don't think it was possible to select another one.

As a user and an administrator, I can manage the entire server from the main controller. I know everything that UiPath is doing. I also can't think of another solution that has the same broad user community.

How was the initial setup?

UiPath runs Orchestrator and the application in the cloud, but our robots work on-prem in our data center.

In my previous organization, I deployed UiPath, but when I got there I didn't even know what UiPath was. Fortunately, they have nice documentation on the UiPath website, step-by-step. I followed that and was able to deploy things. Since then, I have helped several organizations, via the UiPath community, to deploy Orchestrator within two or three hours. If they have completed the relevant prerequisites, it can be done in that amount of time for a standard installation.

We had a detailed plan in place that progressed in phases. In phase one, we eliminated the data entry function in the main office and the branches. In phase two we would optimize our existing processes. Once all the automation is finished in the head office, we optimize those head office processes.

What was our ROI?

We have seen significant cost savings throughout the company. Before we started to use UiPath in 2019, we had three or four people doing data entry in every branch. It has eliminated human data entry and also frees up our cashiers because the cashier cannot go anywhere when the queue is long.

We calculated what we have spent for our entire RPA platform and what our ROI is. Our calculations showed that after one and a half years, we had recouped our entire spend on the RPA platform. That included the entire robot cost, servers, the software license, et cetera. That means we had ROI after 18 months.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

When it comes to unattended robots, the cost for us in Sri Lanka is huge. It's tricky for us to convince management when they think about the price. We have to prove the value with evidence. We explain that we will save this or that amount, so please help us with this tool.

Maybe for Middle Eastern or other countries, the price of that robot is not a big deal, but roughly $10,000 for an unattended robot is a very big deal for us.

They are switching their licensing from a legacy mode to flex licensing. With that kind of license, they have given up a certain fee, which is okay, but the robot cost is high. Orchestrator is now free on the cloud platform, but we need UiPath Studio, the developer platform, as well as attended and unattended robots, and those are the things we pay for. The unattended robots are the highest priced. On a scale where one represents the most expensive and 10 is cheapest, I would rate UiPath at about two.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We have looked at several automation platforms. We have done several demos and looked at the price of Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism. But they are more complex than UiPath.

If you consider other applications, like Blue Prism and Automation Anywhere, the UiPath platform is better because it's user-friendly, making it easy to get tasks done. Even for a beginning developer, it's easy to catch up with all the stuff in UiPath.

UiPath has noticed that I'm an active contributor, so they contacted me to get feedback and invite me to build the community. If I check my LinkedIn profile, I can see all the things I've done in the UiPath community. I don't see that with the Automation Anywhere platform.

If I don't know how to do something, I can watch one video and learn everything I need to know. If we post a question on the forum, we get an answer in one or two minutes from another user.

Fast development, user-friendly, and stable

  • July 19, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I work for a software solution company, and its use cases are related to HR products.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath enables us to implement end-to-end automation. We also tried a few payroll automations as a part of our software solution, and it worked perfectly. All the features, UI elements, and processes work well. It is very good. We were able to automate about 80% of the tasks or processes by using UiPath. It is a great platform for automation.

UiPath has reduced human error. It has reduced time for a task. We were able to reduce 80% of a task. We have automated 80% of the task using UiPath, and we were able to save six hours per user for one project.

UiPath frees up the employee time. After we have the software in place, we can see where we can speed up our processes. If a process can be completed in less duration, that also saves the time of the employee. So, it is a journey. You need to keep identifying the processes to improve. The time savings vary based on the process. For example, we use RPA for the HR payroll, and for 200 employees, we were able to save 6 hours. The savings will be more when you have more people.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of UiPath is the speed of the implementation. They are continuously adding new features, and there is also fast deployment. It is easy to use. Before going for the enterprise license, we evaluated the capability to automate certain processes and get the outcome that we expected. UiPath has so many advantages, but we struggle in terms of investment and price.

I have used the UiPath Academy for business analyst certification. It is very helpful to understand the tools and features to meet any requirements. You get to learn what are the things that you have to follow. From the business analysts' side, you get to know how to identify the processes where automation can be used. You can identify the automation capabilities. UiPath Academy nicely guides people who are new to RPA. There are so many things to learn on the RPA side. The developers can identify the gaps and learn how to automate quickly and learn new skills. UiPath Academy helps people to understand automation from start to end.

What needs improvement?

On the investment side, it is a huge investment, especially with the current situation in Sri Lanka. If they can reduce the price or provide affordable packages, it will be very helpful.

On the development side, there are already so many new capabilities. They are also adding more AI capabilities. I have seen some of the users using AI tools, but I have not worked on them much.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using UiPath for the past two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Its stability is nice. We get regular updates throughout the year, and we have to install those updates, which is not a huge thing for us. We have not had any issues with that. I would rate it a nine out of ten in terms of stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable. I would rate it a nine out of ten in terms of scalability.

We use automation in different departments, and we are also planning to deploy some RPA use cases in the client environment. Currently, we have 280 users using payroll automation.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support team from the reseller has been very engaged with the RPA effort. They have helped us with the cons and pros and to identify the capabilities of UiPath using the UiPath community version. They helped us a lot with our RPA journey.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have worked with Automation Anywhere and UiPath, and I am now also using Power Automate. I used Automation Anywhere at my previous workplace, and at my current workplace, we have been using UiPath, but we are now also using Power Automate. We were using IQ Bot to identify invoices and process those invoices for the finance team. We have been using UiPath for HR and payroll automation.

In terms of ROI and investment, in Asian countries, such as Sri Lanka, we are unable to get a huge return on investment because of the price. We were looking for a solution with less investment and getting more automation, so we picked Power Automate for automation.

How was the initial setup?

I was working as a project manager and consultant. I was involved in gathering requirements in detail and creating the processes. I acted as a bridge between the development team and business owners.

It was a straightforward process. We took two days to set up the process. In terms of the implementation strategy, we identified the use cases for automation. Business owners were responsible for coming up with the use cases and identifying the feasibility and the return on investment for using RPA. We went through each project brought to the table and identified some of the critical scenarios.

What about the implementation team?

In my previous company, we got consultants from Automation Anywhere because that was the first time we were using RPA in our company. It was 2017 or 2018. They helped us in identifying processes, gathering details, and selecting processes for RPA. They were very helpful. Their developers also helped us debug the processes and improve the speed of the processes. They helped to identify the gaps in automation flow and enhance it.

From the development side, there were two developers and a project lead. There were also two subject matter experts or business owners, so altogether, there were five people.

For maintenance, one person is enough.

What was our ROI?

UiPath could not save us money because the cost of the bot license and the Studio license is high. For Asian countries, such as Sri Lanka, it is a huge amount.

We have been using the community version to identify the automation capabilities. We are also trying to sell the RPM modules to our clients who use our payroll process. When it came to purchasing, there was a huge difference in the price of Automation Anywhere and UiPath as compared to Power Automate, so we went for Power Automate.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is expensive for our country. Other than that, we do not have any issues with UiPath.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Most companies evaluate Automation Anywhere, UiPath, and Power Automate. Development speed, user-friendliness, and price are some of the factors that companies look at while evaluating a solution. UiPath helps with fast development, and it is user-friendly. There is also a community version to understand its capabilities before purchasing the license.

Both Automation Anywhere and UiPath require a big investment. Companies based in European countries get a good return on investment, but most companies based in Sri Lanka do not get a good return on investment because the cost is very high.

What other advice do I have?

To those who want to use UiPath, I would advise understanding what digitization is and how RPA can help with their digitalization journey. Before using RPA, they have to standardize their processes in terms of the process flow. We encourage people to identify those gaps before using RPA. They should also select processes that provide a good return on investment. They can use the community version of UiPath to identify the processes.

Overall, I would rate UiPath a nine out of ten.

Supports various interfaces, and reduces human error, but automating is not as easy as it seems

  • July 17, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use UiPath for automation.

As a consultant, we have been involved in many client projects and deployed UiPath using a hybrid model.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath enables us to implement end-to-end automation.

UiPath's User Community is good.

UiPath helped us reduce our on-premises footprint.

UiPath helped us reduce human error.

What is most valuable?

UiPath's support for various types of interfaces is the most valuable feature as it aids in automating the end-user systems we want to streamline.

What needs improvement?

I would like to have the ability to make changes at different stages of the development process without having to start from the beginning each time.

Automating with UiPath is not as easy as it appears in the advertisements.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

UiPath is stable, but not 100 percent reliable. I would rate its stability an eight out of ten. If we need to restart the project, open the file again, or close down the program and open something else, UiPath does not behave consistently every time.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

UiPath is highly scalable.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. The deployment takes around one month.

What other advice do I have?

I give UiPath a seven out of ten.

Maintenance is required. We need to make changes to the code due to updates in the systems on which the automation is running. There are updates in the IT environments, such as operating systems, and also in the UI part. The newer features in UiPath bring new updates, and its components necessitate modifications to the code.

What is our primary use case?

I work for a telecommunications company, which involves various processes in different areas. For all the company's needs, I primarily utilize UiPath. We have employed it to automate tasks such as packet installation, software attribute utilization, and coupon allocation. These are time-consuming tasks that involve a significant amount of data, making it impractical for a single person to handle. Therefore, we assign these tasks to a bot to expedite the process.

How has it helped my organization?

Building automation using UiPath is straightforward. As a developer, I have colleagues who want to learn simple automation quickly, and UiPath is one of the best solutions for this, thanks to its tutorials and the UiPath Academy courses.

Our organization is beginning the implementation of end-to-end automation using UiPath. The implementation is easy and enables users to interact with the testing, thus saving a significant amount of time.

The UiPath User Community is one of the best aspects of the solution. The community is extensive, and everyone is willing to assist by providing information and guiding us in the correct direction.

We quickly realized the benefits of UiPath once we implemented it, including cost savings. We began automating areas where we encountered difficulties, and within the initial three months of automation, we started witnessing the advantages. After completing the necessary courses, we were able to automate quickly.

UiPath has helped our organization minimize its on-premises footprint, which is important for the implementation of the RPA in our day-to-day activities.

I have taken several UiPath Academy courses, and they are easy to follow.

UiPath has accelerated our digital transformation, leading to reduced costs and time. Our customer IT team has provided invaluable assistance throughout the process.

UiPath has eliminated human errors when dealing with large amounts of data. One of the first automation we needed to have done was one that, if not processed at that time, would risk losing money, time, or even a partner. So what we did was automate the task that consumed most of our time. By the end of the day, we were able to complete the task and ensure all the client information was corrected.

UiPath has freed up our employees' time, allowing them to focus on more important tasks.

What is most valuable?

The RE framework is a valuable feature because it offers the possibility of working with a large amount of data without the need to transmit all the information.

What needs improvement?

AI can become more intelligent to facilitate the ease of automation.

I would like UiPath to support the Python language. It is easy to develop in Python, and there are thousands of libraries available that I can use within its environment. Such support would greatly expand my capabilities for performing my RPA activities.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I encountered some stability issues initially when I had limited knowledge. However, I now find it to be quite stable. UiPath stands out as one of the best options in our market when it comes to stability, thanks to its frequent updates and bug fixes.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

UiPath truly emphasizes the capability to scale.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is good and has responded to all of our questions.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The deployment was handled by two people from our IT group.

What was our ROI?

UiPath offers a significant return on investment due to the rapid realization of its benefits.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

UiPath is reasonably priced for being a leader in the market.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have evaluated Laiye UiBot, Hover Corporation, and OpenRPA.

I prefer OpenRPA because one of its advantages is being open source. That's great. Additionally, it offers great features, such as quick comparison capabilities with Velocity. This impressed me. Another notable aspect is the ability to code in various languages and run them independently. This allows me to seamlessly integrate with my workflow and agents. I can execute the code in my environment and directly communicate with the robot, which is a fantastic feature.

Compared to UiPath, OpenRPA is slightly faster, open-source, and allows for the incorporation of work codes, but UiPath offers greater functionality.

What other advice do I have?

I give UiPath a nine out of ten. The design and appearance of UiPath are excellent, and its functionalities are perfect. The impressive aspect is how people create packages and new automation using the solution. I have nothing negative to say.

UiPath is currently deployed in one location within our organization.

We have a dedicated maintenance team of two individuals who are knowledgeable and have not encountered any difficulties.

I suggest utilizing the Community forum to acquire knowledge about UiPath because it contains a wealth of information beyond what is found in the documentation itself, and the support provided there is exceptional.

A versatile, easy-to-use automation solution with powerful data scraping

  • July 11, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I used UiPath for the energy sector and HR, but they were almost industrial processes. The bots were performing and doing transactions all the time.

The use cases were mostly about the extractions from several websites to manipulate data and to put data into other websites to update. We also had campaigns, and we needed to trigger and send lots of emails.

How has it helped my organization?

Our clients could automate manual tasks that were boring. They also implemented a chatbot using UiPath where whenever people called, they just entered the application, and UiPath could retrieve information about the person without them having to go to System A, System B, and System C.

UiPath enabled us to implement end-to-end automation. I went to a system, took the information, and went to a website to submit the information and take out the output. That was end-to-end automation.

It speeds up digital transformation.

UiPath reduces human error, but it also depends on the use cases. It has had a positive effect on our clients' businesses.

Employee time has been reduced because bots can work faster than humans. It saved a lot of time for our clients, but I do not have the metrics.

UiPath, depending on the use case and the company's infrastructure, can save a lot of money. It saved a client's company half a million or a million. It is worth the money.

What is most valuable?

The best feature of UiPath is that it is easy to use. UiPath Orchestrator is also easy to use.

Data scraping is very powerful in UiPath. It is very versatile.

What needs improvement?

I have not explored all the UiPath functionalities. I am exploring it a little bit more now, but they are moving to the modern experience, which is something I do not like. They are going in the wrong direction. I like the classic experience for developing, and as a developer, I am used to it, but they are going to the modern experience with selectors and other things. It might have certain advantages, but I do not like it. They should maintain the classic activities. They can consider providing both options instead of taking the classic ones away.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for almost three years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have always worked with UiPath for industrial processes. For instance, it was used for a company that was always processing contracts. They submitted new contracts and ended lots of them at the same time. We did not use it for filling forms or small automations.

How are customer service and support?

I have not contacted their support. I have used the UiPath Community. It is very easy to use. There are lots of people asking questions and lots of people answering them. I usually go there to consult other people. Their community is very valuable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

UiPath was the first RPA tool that I used. Before UiPath, I had only worked with BPM and BPMN solutions such as Appian and Bizagi. I switched to UiPath because my company chose it. We had a client who wanted to implement UiPath.

How was the initial setup?

I have seen it deployed on-premises and also on the cloud. I do not know about the deployment of the UiPath infrastructure. I only know how to allocate licenses or install the UiPath license on a computer, which is not hard. It is easy.

What was our ROI?

It is worth the money if you have enough automation and enough use cases. That is applicable to every automation platform. As long as you have the use cases and you can automate them through that application, it will be worth the money.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is expensive, and it is now getting more expensive. They are the number one in the market, and they are taking advantage of that. It is hard for the companies that have the full infrastructure supported on UiPath to change it. They have to keep it. UiPath is taking advantage of it.

Its cost depends on the company and the contract.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I used UiPath in my previous organization. I recently changed my organization, and I am now comparing RPA tools.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend UiPath to others if they have use cases for it.

I am certified in UiPath. I have used UiPath Academy courses. They are useful when you start developing. I have also attended their seminars.

I have not used UiPath's AI functionality in the automation programs. We started to use it, but then I changed the company.

Overall, I would rate UiPath an eight out of ten. I cannot compare it to others because I never used any other solution, but I find UiPath to be simple and easy to use.

It saves time, is reliable, and is easy to use

What is our primary use case?

We are a partner of UiPath, and we utilize their solution for welfare unions and document understanding.

How has it helped my organization?

Building automation using UiPath is straightforward. I would rate the ease of building automation an eight out of ten.

UiPath enables end-to-end automation, which is essential to our organization because it saves time, is reliable, and is easy to use. Although it is somewhat expensive, it is worth the investment in the long run.

Being a part of the UiPath User Community helps us deal with various tasks. We can share our experiences with the members of the group and learn from the experiences of other members of the community.

Some of the benefits our clients have noted about UiPath are the speed and the reduction in operations at the end of the day. Our clients were able to achieve their goals quickly by using UiPath and witnessing a return on investment.

The introductory course of UiPath Acadamy is good.

UiPath accelerates digital transformation and reduces its associated costs. Initially, implementing such transformations may necessitate expensive upgrades. However, once the setup is complete, operations can run smoothly. Typically, when a company begins contemplating digital transformation, they often find themselves in a technologically outdated state. As a result, a comprehensive update of their systems becomes imperative, incurring significant costs.

UiPath helps reduce human error. It is highly beneficial to automate certain human tasks and mitigate the potential for errors.

It has freed up approximately 50 percent of our employees' time.

UiPath has saved approximately 20 percent of our organization's costs.

What is most valuable?

The UiPath Community is truly helpful.

Although we have to pay for the extra features that UiPath offers, they are extremely useful.

What needs improvement?

The introductory courses of UiPath Academy are adequate, but there is room for improvement. I understand that creating an automated course for everyone is not an easy task. After completing these courses, we are capable of performing simple tasks. However, if we truly want to learn, for example, Java, we must conduct further research on our own. The Academy courses should provide more challenging content.

The pricing in our region has the potential for improvement. The price is the same throughout Europe, despite the varying economies in each country, which poses challenges for all the partners involved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability of UiPath as a perfect ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate UiPath's scalability as a perfect ten out of ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used Blue Prism but switched to UiPath to meet client requirements. Personally, I prefer UiPath.

What was our ROI?

As a partner, we experience a return on investment because we bear the cost of the solution, and subsequently provide the services. The client pays for both the services rendered and a portion of the licensing fee. For us, the benefit is clear, but as a lean benefit, compared to the really expensive fee that we have to charge the clients to have a margin.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price is high. On a scale of one to ten, with ten being the highest, I would rate the price as an eight out of ten.

We also have to pay extra if we want Studio, Document Understanding, even if APIs are not going to be used for text recognition, or Insight. Insight is really expensive and doesn't offer anything new other than Elasticsearch and Kibana, which are free tools. The message we have received from UiPath is that they are the leader in the market, and we have to pay for that.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Appian, and a few others before selecting UiPath.

What other advice do I have?

I give UiPath an eight out of ten.

I recommend that new users first take the Academy courses before transitioning to the UiPath Community version. It is advisable to learn all the basics thoroughly, without assuming any prior knowledge, and to exercise patience.

I have learned that using a machine is better than I am.
