Best Cloud-friendly option around
What do you like best about the product?
Nightfall is easy to implement and is very friendly to cloud-based companies. We leverage them for 4 different products (Slack, Jira, Confuence, and Zendesk (in early beta currently)) and have found their service intuitive, fairly accurate, and I love their easy response to alerts in Slack. They also export logging to a SIEM very easily and their team is engaged, quick to respond, and the product is developing rapidly. When they say they're building something, they mean it's coming soon and it's really appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
My problems with Nightfall aren't really with the company itself, but more the limitations of technology. You can't "auto-redact" in a PDF, image, or attachment, which means the auto-redact rule will simply not work for those types of findings. I've given them the feedback of following different alerts for different finding types, which they've responded well too -- so there's yet another plus for them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have DLP demands we must meet for our contracts/customers, compliance, and for our own benefit. We have a lot more confidence in where our data is thanks to Nightfall.

Good UI and Easy Setup
What do you like best about the product?
The integrations are very simple to set up compared to other solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not been able to find anything to dislike about the product so far

We are seeing more PHI data flow between the apps we have integrated
Dedicated Data Discovery > Home Grown Heuristics
What do you like best about the product?
Nightfall allows teams to identify and respond to the potential exposure of sensitive data within internal communications platforms, customer service platforms, and code repositories. Integration into our platforms, such as GitHub and Slack, was straightforward and completed within minutes; once integrated, Nightfall immediately started to protect our coding and communications platforms.
Alerting is timely with a Slack integration allowing for constant monitoring in a dedicated channel without navigating to the Nightfall UI. Jira integration is excellent, so we can utilize our current ticketing system instead of managing alerts in 2 separate locations.

What do you dislike about the product?
Bulk actions are not possible in the UI, at times this would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First-class constant monitoring of our environments without the need to tune or develop detections in-house. Nightfall augments our staff that we would typically have had to hire and task to maintain a homegrown solution.
NightFall has helped us avoid some dangerous data loss.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of setup and config, The ability to have all alerts flow through slack for instant action by our security team.
We tried MS's native DLP but found the setup to be complicated and required way more baby sitting and hand-holding. Nightfall was running in about 15 minutes and catching credit card numbers being sent via slack, AWS secrets in github repos.

What do you dislike about the product?
Everything costs money, but you get what you pay for at the end of the day. Nightfall is worth the cost to our business.
Enterprise-level DLP with a minimal setup is an enormous for us.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had no way to monitor private conversations in Slack, or have governance over what data was shared. Nightfall automatically finds and removes sensitive data on our Slack, Box, Github instances for us.
Greater visibility and control over my cloud environment
What do you like best about the product?
Nightfall scans my cloud environment, finding sensitive and restricted data based on the criteria that I have it looking for. It finds violations quickly, giving me an opportunity to validate and follow up with corrective action.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I can honestly say that I have not found anything that I dislike about Nightfall. Every snag that I have run into so far, has been quickly answered by my support team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nightfall is helping us solve our DLP needs mostly. Our cloud environment contains countless files and repositories where data is stored. Nightfall scans them and alerts us about content that we need to lock down.
Excellent support, and great product
What do you like best about the product?
The support help is amazing! And the ease of use is great!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that you had the ability to do a bulk schedule of the masking once approved.

We use Jira Service Management and needed a way to scrub all the sensitive info from tickets. Nightfall makes that process seamless.
Got us off the hook for an on prem installation of Jira
What do you like best about the product?
Good tool to flag content added to Jira tickets. It's easy to set up verification rules based on what you need and tweak their sensitivity. You can also define your own rules.
Viewing the violations is pretty easy as well. It shows you which rules were violated and a redacted view of what tripped the rule.

What do you dislike about the product?
The product is still early so some things are missing like advanced user management but the team at Nightfall will give you any assistance you may need.
Also reports aren't easily exportable yet but they are working on getting it added.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were faced with the possible need to move from Jira Cloud to Jira Dat Center due to a customer adding protected information to support tickets. This would have been a disruptive and very costly transition to accomplish.
We found Nightfall can provide historical and real-time scanning of issues when they are added. We were able to present their tool and its findings to an auditing company as proof of due diligence to prevent sensitive information from being added to our Jira instance which prevented the need for a move.

Most robust DLP tooling I have come across
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, Functionality, and integrations. Having all the alerts displayed within slack allows for my team to view and collaborate on DLP alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing comes to mind. It's really just a great product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nightfall is addressing our deficiency in monitoring data loss. Given the nature of our business, ensuring customer data is of the utmost importance.
Nightfall after 1 year
What do you like best about the product?
Easy integration into Slack and prebuild filters
What do you dislike about the product?
So far just the cost to carry this product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy DLP for Slack. We will see if it's worth it to get Nightfall for Confluence.
Software is good, potential shortcuts could make it more user friendly.
What do you like best about the product?
Does a great job of having native tools to track potential PHI in slack, including many key searchable data types. This makes onboarding very quick and user-friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
it can be pretty clunky to approve false positives. I would love to see a button option to approve the flagged language right next to the quarantine button in the private channels.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company needs to be HIPAA compliant and in order to use Slack and be HIPAA compliant, we need to use a DLP partner like Nightfall. This allows us to use our preferred method of communication in Slack.
