Automation has streamlined secure file sharing, reduced manual workload, and enables remote teams to collaborate confidently with encrypted data

  • November 28, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

GoAnywhere MFT was purchased for its capacity for automation in file sharing, as I had a big load of work to share. Since I had a very big workload for one or two persons, it was costly. I looked at that when I would be hiring other people to help me in file management and file transfer, and it would have been quite expensive. At that moment, I decided to purchase GoAnywhere MFT for the purpose of file transfer and also for forming secure file requests from different locations and different people.

What is most valuable?

What I appreciate about GoAnywhere MFT is its automation process, which helps me schedule bulk tasks or multiple tasks at different times, and they automatically work upon themselves when the scheduled time reaches. Secondly, I want to discuss its compatibility; you can use it on the desktop as well as it has a mobile application, whereby if you have not moved with a laptop, you can easily use the mobile application to check on the processes and how they are running. The feature I value most is data encryption; this tool is highly encrypted, and when you share sensitive data, it is shared with encryption that cannot be tampered with during the transfer process. Additionally, it offers something complex in file sharing, and its deployment is also easy, allowing deployment either on cloud or premises, depending on the type of servers you are using at that moment, which gives a bigger chance that there is no limitation in deploying it.

GoAnywhere MFT has helped us save costs, especially where there is a need to hire more workers to assist in file monitoring. GoAnywhere MFT can handle multiple tasks, and in this process, it saves costs. Another benefit is sharing files in time, as files are being shared as scheduled. Work becomes effortless since things can be done through automation. I also want to mention another benefit related to integration with other software, as it has connectors that connect with tools such as Google Drive and OneDrive. This allows easy and error-free transfer of data saved on those platforms. Additionally, it provides strong encryption, ensuring that sensitive data is shared privately and confidentially without any challenges.

What needs improvement?

The challenge I faced with GoAnywhere MFT was during the purchasing process when I had to request a quotation before receiving pricing. If the purchasing process could be made more straightforward, similar to other tools where prices are standard and publicly displayed, it would be easier for clients who want quick purchases without many steps.

In actual sense, the features I use for my organization meet my requirements, so I do not see any other features that should be improved upon.

For how long have I used the solution?

This is my second year using GoAnywhere MFT.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I find GoAnywhere MFT very stable; even if a transfer process does not succeed on the first trial, the system automatically retries to resubmit the commands. I have never encountered crashes or maintenance issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I do not see limitations with its scalability; it runs well.

How are customer service and support?

I normally interact with the customer service team only when I want to add a new license. In this process, they are very friendly and responsive, faster than other services, especially when we recently wanted to add another license for another user.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before GoAnywhere MFT, I was doing file transfers using Microsoft SharePoint and Google Drive, but those tools did not offer a unified feature set that GoAnywhere MFT provides.

How was the initial setup?

I did not find many challenges in deployment because most of the work was done with GoAnywhere MFT team, and I was just following their instructions, which made the process straightforward.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing GoAnywhere MFT, I had done a survey over other tools and ran software tests. I tested M-Files, and although it has file management and transfer features, it also has complex parts. When I found GoAnywhere MFT, I realized it is specified for file transfers and management, which is why I chose it.

What other advice do I have?

When I was purchasing GoAnywhere MFT, I went directly to their website. When I went to their website, I had to schedule a demo, and after the demo, they made a quotation for me. Then it was just direct from the website.

I use connectors because before purchasing GoAnywhere MFT, I was using Microsoft tools such as SharePoint to organize my files. So, when I purchased GoAnywhere MFT, I connected it with the other connectors I was using. For example, before when I was using SharePoint to save data and transfer information, I had certain information on those tools. So, in the process of connection, it made it easy to access those files from SharePoint to GoAnywhere MFT, enabling me to share those files freely without any limitation.

I cannot comment on the range of connectors because my point of focus has been on the few connectors I used, which are only three, so I have not focused on the range. I find GoAnywhere MFT's connectors very beneficial because they help in information sharing from those connectors. They allow access to information from other tools, making it easy to share and download files, manually or through the automatic sharing process, thereby limiting errors when sharing these tools after connecting with GoAnywhere MFT.

I use GoAnywhere MFT Agents because some individuals in remote areas from our main servers need to access the agent form to share information in those remote areas. GoAnywhere MFT Agent is beneficial because individuals in remote areas can use it to load and process information, which then gets submitted to the control center where we have the central server. These agents help simplify some work and reduce the workload at the center.

I use GoAnywhere MFT's secure forms; these secure forms enable you to access information from team members and others. Instead of contacting team members directly, you can use these secure forms to request the information you want. The secure forms are impactful; they enable team members or groups to share information, and they are customizable, allowing you to add fields for the type of information you want to share. They also use encryption to ensure that the information shared through them cannot be tampered with.

I use the GoFast feature together with a tool called GoDrive. The GoFast feature helps me share files more easily; when I work with these tools together, it allows for faster file sharing than other tools, as documents can be compressed during sharing, which reduces file size and increases speed.

GoAnywhere MFT has saved my time in connecting securely with third parties I need to collaborate with. I cannot determine the exact amount of time saved, but it saves a lot. I can run programs overnight with automation, leaving everything to run while I am free during the day, sometimes even working from home.

I recommend other organizations to try GoAnywhere MFT because it offers trial days before purchasing, allowing organizations to test its effectiveness before committing. My overall rating for GoAnywhere MFT is a ten out of ten.

Has enabled secure, centralized file sharing while saving significant time and resources

  • October 29, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Our use case is sharing the file with multiple users. It's a centralized file share system.

What is most valuable?

The best features in GoAnywhere MFT are that it's fast, reliable, and secure.

First, the improvement is that we have resolved one of our security points with compliance. So that compliance point we resolved. And also it's a centralized file sharing system. All the users are able to access the file. There is no one-to-one sharing. It's improved about 80 to 85%.

It saves about 80 to 90% resources. In terms of time, we can say 90 to 95% time is also saved because it avoids the one-to-one sharing and simply a user can put one centralized directory and all the users are able to access this solution and access the file. So it's 95%.

What needs improvement?

There is room for improvement in the UI part. Sometimes file sharing gets failed. Many of the users in the last week faced the issue that the files are not delivered. Maybe the sharing part, the consistency, we can improve.

I'd improve the UI and the file-sharing aspect because the UI needs lots of improvement because it's very confusing and it's good for the technical person, but any non-tech person who is going to use that, they get confused.

For how long have I used the solution?

We are using GoAnywhere MFT for the last eight months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There are rarely file issues, but I can say it's a nine, stable, because it rarely shows any issue.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's a 10. In scalability aspect, we haven't seen any issue.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is a 10.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

GoAnywhere MFT is a very good product for the large scale of users. Since we are using it, 200 plus users are using this solution. It's good for the large scale of users. Compared to the other, in the first initial stage, before moving to GoAnywhere MFT, we deployed one open-source SFTP system. But it's very critical, we are not able to manage its high availability. Since GoAnywhere MFT is a reliable solution, it's good.

There is one open-source SFTP software. Compared to that SFTP, GoAnywhere MFT is the most reliable solution we can say. It does not crash or it rarely shows some issues. There are some issues, but it rarely shows some issues. But that SFTP solution we had implemented has lots of issues and bugs and glitches. Compared to that, it's very good.

How was the initial setup?

Deployment is pretty much straightforward.

It takes around two weeks to deploy.

What about the implementation team?

From the last eight months, maintenance is not complex to maintain. It barely required any maintenance, but maintenance is not a big thing. During the maintenance also, it doesn't go down. During the maintenance, it's able to share the file. It's easy, and easy in the sense it's reliable. During the maintenance also, it serves its purpose.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

The pricing aspect is not handled by the DevOps team, particularly. It's managed by the finance department, technical finance department. We don't have any particular clarity about the pricing.

The purchasing, that whole finance and purchasing, licensing, it doesn't come under the DevOps team. It's all handled by our finance team.

What other advice do I have?

There is one connector with SharePoint. But the thing is I don't have any technical idea about this, but there is an endpoint, connector endpoint.

I don't have any idea about this because I haven't deep dived much in these connectors.

We are not using any agents of GoAnywhere MFT.

I have to verify about secure forms, but we are sharing the file in encrypted format. Maybe this one is a secure form, then we are using it.

I'm not sure about that, so I'll say we are not using it.

There is a standard data transfer.

The recommendation is simple, if you are using the product for the large scale of users, then it's good. But if you are using it for a low number of users, 10 to 15, it's an overkill. And if you have some compliance, compliance policy that you require the encrypted files and auditing purpose, then SFTP is a good option. I would rate it a 10 overall.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)
