What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the ease of use of GoAnywhere MFT. I found the installation process to be straightforward and simple. The user interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate and manage file transfers efficiently. The comprehensive documentation and support resources available also contribute to a smooth user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
However, I am not fond of the complex and outdated licensing system. The product could benefit from a simpler pricing model. The current licensing structure can be confusing and may deter potential users from fully leveraging the capabilities of GoAnywhere MFT. Additionally, the cost associated with the licenses can be quite high, which might not be justifiable for smaller organizations.

GoAnywhere MFT is solving several key problems for us. Firstly, it has significantly simplified the management of file transfers. The platform's user-friendly interface and automation capabilities make it easy to schedule, monitor, and manage file transfers efficiently. This has saved us a considerable amount of time and reduced the risk of errors associated with manual file transfers.

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of implmentation and learning the product. Creating projects and resources is semi-intuitive, as long as you have a basic understanding of workflows and sudo code. Each page you navigate to has a helpful "?" you can click on to get full details on all options available for use.
What do you dislike about the product?
We really like the product, but support has declined over the past few years. I believe this is primarily due to the product’s growing popularity and an insufficient support team to handle all technical requests. Additionally, since we are on the IBM i system, I feel that much of the IBM i expertise has been lost over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoAnywhere is solving all of our workflow automation in a common language (XML) that helps us interconnect multiple systems of different types.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy of use and the number of resource types that we can interface with. They also provide great customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont care for it being Java based, but it has not given us Java issues.

Allows us to do SFTP, and connect automation to S3 and Blob storage.

GoAnywhere MFT functions as an excellent managed file transfer solution which brings substantial improvements to our data transfer operations. GoAnywhere MFT provides an intuitive interface that enables all users including non-technical staff to move through its system. Through automation we complete work tasks and eliminate human mistakes as well as minimize time consumption. The solution provides complete data protection through data encryption and access control features which ensures the security of sensitive information when transfers occur.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our team has faced minor problems during GoAnywhere MFT usage because of delays in file synchronization with big files. The software needs an improved mechanism to manage failed transfers since it currently demands user assistance to fix such issues. The problems we have encountered with GoAnywhere MFT do not disrupt our main operational processes.

Our organization previously faced difficulties both in moving big files and protecting their security. GoAnywhere MFT established an efficient solution to handle secure file transfer operations. The software eliminates our need to spend time searching for email approvals because it processes them automatically. Our team now dedicates more time to other tasks because we eliminated manual errors through the software platform.

I like its integration with its FTP servers and many file-processing plugins that you can optionlly install. It seems to be fully featured and can automate all file processing.

Many services such as its project, trigger, api, and maybe other are restricted to single domain. It would be nice if they can be configure to run processes for multiple domains as well.

it transfer a large amount of files quickly and you can config a lot of agents and web users.

What do you like best about the product?
GoAnywhere MFT provides many options to retrieve, manipulate, and process data. It's easy to use interface allows you to quickly create, test, and implement projects. If unsure how to start, several project templates exist, providing the basics needed to accomplish your task. It's proven to be an invaluable tool for our company.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have used GoAnywhere MFT for many years. With the latest release being used (7.6.0), I really don't have any dislikes with this software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoAnywhere MFT is used for data reconciliation (reporting) with our EDI processes, along with other standard reporting needs. It is also used for inventory feeds to non-EDI customers. Any process that requires to run on a schedule and either report or manipulate data, GoAnywhere MFT is either considered or used.

What do you like best about the product?
GoAnywhere MFT allows me to securely and effectively automate file transfers. More-over proper alerts are delivered for each file transfer and automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Im working from India, however the GoAnywhere support team is from United States. Due to the geographical time difference there is a dely in response for the support tickets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On a regular bases my SAP application generates multiple files. Using GoAnywhere im able to pick the files and drop it to the desired destination. Earlier i was doing it manually. By GoAnywhere MFT this process is automated.

As someone who trains other people on the software, my pet hate is the naming of end users as 'webusers', this confuses so many people who associate 'web' with https only.
Also, I prefer the menus spread horizontally rather than the newer vertical arrangement - this takes up too much space.

Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT is our primary product, distributed to most of our clients. Our dedicated GoAnywhere team has been deploying and providing Level One and Level Two support for the product for many years. Since 2017, we have distributed GoAnywhere to numerous clients in India who consistently renew their subscriptions. While they may evaluate other products, they ultimately return to GoAnywhere due to its compliance features, automation capabilities, workflows, and security measures.
One of our clients has implemented GoAnywhere MFT's Secure Forms for initial registration. This solution enhances user and server security while allowing end-users to self-register.
One of our clients uses the GoFast feature to transfer large files.
GoAnywhere MFT facilitates efficient connectivity with third parties, provided the firewall policies are open.

We have worked with other Managed File Transfer solutions like IP Switch, but GoAnywhere offers a single dashboard for all features. While IP Switch requires two different solutions to manage MFT, GoAnywhere provides a single dashboard to manage automated and manual file transfers.

The deployment is straightforward and takes roughly two days to complete.

Return on investment is evident in the reduction of resource utilization. This workflow automation solution has enabled three customers to reduce their workforce by automating tasks previously performed by employees. For example, GoAnywhere can perform the work of three people, leading to a decrease in manpower needs for automation and file transfer. Additionally, GoAnywhere enhances security and helps customers achieve compliance by automating the file transfer process, eliminating the need for manual file transfers and ensuring secure delivery to the destination.

Regular updates, including patches and upgrades, are released approximately every three months to address vulnerabilities and introduce new features. Keeping the system up-to-date is essential for its continued functionality and protection against potential threats.
As a technical professional, I recommend Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT due to its comprehensive feature set and unified dashboard, which streamline functionalities that often require multiple tools in other, more costly MFT solutions.
