In addition to the vulnerability risk management function, the product also includes the baseline configuration scanning function so that the multi-functional unified management is very convenient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The overall user experience is perfect, the dashboard is intuitive and straightforward, and you can easily customize various charts according to your business needs. The distributed scanning engine architecture is very suitable for the complex architecture of our data center with a large scale of assets and multiple subnets. The scanning has less impact on our business and device. In addition, the vulnerability prioritization feature (VPR) integrated with threat intelligence allows us to focus on the most critical vulnerabilities to deal with, which is very useful for us. In addition, the ability to rescan vulnerabilities allows our security department to know the progress of other departments’ colleagues to remediate vulnerabilities. Therefore, we think the tenable solution is perfect.

Tenable.sc working with Nessus, provide us a holistic view of our environment, about the assets & vulnerabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit expensive, but for the quality service, it's still worth it.

Vulnerability scan & management with a lot of configurable reports & dashboards
Vulnerabilities checks are accurate and there are few false positives

Easy to operate, accurate results, reducing a lot of labor costs

The system lacks Chinese language, especially the introduction of some vulnerabilities.

Identifying Vulnerabiities that can't even been detected by a patch Management Solution. Discovering assets that were not in the inventory.

What do you like best about the product?
1) Flexible and extensible platform - We'd deployed a number of license-free Nessus scanners and a SecurityCenter console at the beginning for the distributed scanning across our production networks. When the business requirements expanded, we just simply added the extra scanners and/or console(s) correspondingly, no more effort was required the products were working just properly and seamlessly to each other.
2) Vulnerability Priority Rating - It uses big data and threat intelligence to add context to vulns for auto prioritization, which's much more effective than the traditional method of CVSS.
3) Ecosystem and integration - Tenable.sc offered a good capability of out-of-box integration, we've successfully integrated it with the other 3rd party IT/security tools we've been using, such as SIEM, PAM, CMDB, and Ticketing.
4) Strong local presence and solid support - They have a good team and good people, always willing to help and proactively engage everything regarding the solution, always care about what value their solution could provide and what success our team could receive.

It's a no, I think it's perfectively met every requirements we have currently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems: As we continually expand our business for the new market, the assets in our IT environment were multiplying – making it incredibly difficult to obtain visibility into every aspect of the attack surface.
The benefit: Our security team started using VPR, a built-in feature of Tenable.sc, to determine the most imminent threats to the business.

Although the solution was somewhat inherited from our HQ US, when we started the implementation in China, we started recognizing that the solution (Tenable.sc), the products (SecurityCenter, Nessus, etc), and the local team as well were really fantastic.

Distributed and smart scanning architecture, detection accuracy, Vulnerability Priority Rating, fully opened APIs

Not 100% of vulnerability descriptions are in Chinese, but they have been investing in the improvement about this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past, we just used tens of standalone scanners to implement routine scans across the highly separated production networks consisted of tens of thousands of servers. And the vulnerability report data was too huge to mitigate the critical vulns in time.
Tenable.sc helped us saving us a meaningful operation time and man effort for the routine scan, prioritizing the most important vulns that really matter. We also integrated Tenable.sc with our custom-built VM portal for streamlining the remediation processes, which is a big step of improvement to the productivity of SDLC.

What do you like best about the product?
Comprehensive scanning options (network-based, agent-based), the deep and breadth of asset discovery capability, most accurate vulnerability detection, highly customized compliance checks, VPR etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Web app scanning for the modern frontend (e.g javascript based) apps is not included in the on-prem solution, which may require an extra public cloud-based module, tenable.io.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Discovers all the network attack surfaces brought by the hosts and the network devices, and prioritizes the most critical vulnerabilities.
We've reduced a good degree of risk from data breaches to compliance failures through good cyber hygiene built based on tenable.sc

It is a tool that helps us a lot for vulnerability management and reporting.

At the moment there is nothing that I don't like.

Timely remediation of vulnerabilities identified in the devices in an optimal and timely manner.

It is a good tool to provide good visibility and support in vulnerability management. I highly recommend the Dashboards and Reports functionality, there are several templates or you can make custom reports.

Easy to use and nice product for vulnerability assessment.
What do you like best about the product?
We are scanning customer networks for vulnerabilities on a regular base. For one time scans we often rely on Nessus to provide the testers an overview of the network components and potential attack vectors. However, if a customer wants to scan his network periodically, we often recommend the usage of Tenable.sc. It's easy to use, provides a good overview of the customers assets and the dashboard/quick report feature helps the customer to get a quick glance on his biggest problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tenable.sc comes in several price tiers, where the lowest one starts somewhere at 500 IPs. Therefore, customers with smaller networks are often struggle with the decision if Tenable.sc is the right choice. The cloud solution Tenable.io comes in a lot smaller packages, but is not able to be operated on-premise. This leads to a weird situation, if a customer with less then 500 systems/IPs wants a regular, comprehensive and automatable scan solution without relying on an external hosted cloud solution .

The easy to use and good documented API also allows us (as tester and customer) to easily automate specific tasks and integrate Tenable.sc in our business processes.
