Great Analytics Tool
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part about Segment is the level of trust I have in the product. They have an excellent engineering team, and their product just works. I've used many tools where there can be delays or missing data and it seems like you're constantly talking with support to resolve issues, but I don't think I have ever had to open a support ticket with Segment. You set it up, and it works great.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can be a little confusing/daunting for first-time users. I first started using Segment in ~2016, and I liked the older UI better. But they have added a lot of features over the years, so the UI probably had to adjust with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating new analytics tools and creating clickstream data pipelines with ease. Even something as simple as adding a new script tag to a page take days depending on how your company's internal processes work, but with Segment it's very easy to just click a button and turn on a new tool.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment's onboarding and documentation are really helpful. Really easy to get started with, and they've also put out a lot of in-depth guides on Analytics. The UI is slick.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can become expensive as you need business features or scale very fast. It takes some time for some Destinations to populate, and it can be quite hard to debug that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment helps us unify tracking across a lot of different tools and enable marketing automation without having to rely on engineering to make changes to the product.

What do you like best about the product?
You can integrate Segment with so many other platforms and products, which makes it a very versatile platform. It's a great one-stop shop for all of our user data. It also has a Google Chrome extension which is extremely helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is definitely a larger learning curve to understand how to use Segment as a non-technical person. I am still learning to understand all of their offerings and how to get the most out of it as a Product Manager.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We no longer have to waste valuable engineering time and resources. Segment has saved our team a ton of time with integrations that would otherwise take them away from more important projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take some time to watch the videos that Segment has on their YouTube channel. I found these to be super helpful when learning how to use the platform, and it's saved me a lot of time that I would've spent trying to figure it out on my own.

Documentation, Event Schema and Tracking Violations when something is wrong
What do you dislike about the product?
Probably Personas product and Privacy Tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improving website performance since we are not loading all the 3rd party scripts but one.
Great tool for event implementation

Debugger for verifying events.

What do you dislike about the product?
Mostly everything is there. There should be some custom dashboard which we can make according to our requirements. Any mechanism to share failed events reports on email would be very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly everything around events implementation is sorted with the segment. Previously debugging of events was quite challenging but after segment any team member can test these events.
Good CDP tool for companies
What do you like best about the product?
Helps companies with complex set-ups to connect to different tools. In one single integration can manage many products (apps, webapps, scripts) with different tools (crm, tracking, cloud).
What do you dislike about the product?
It's an expensive tool and over costs are pretty high. If you go above the MTUs allocated for the month, you can end up paying the same as the contract only in penalites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have different products and apps depending on the country. The Tech Team cannot manage to make individual integration with marketing tools such as Braze, Appsflyer, Google Analytics, so we use Segment to integrate and control everything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Customer Support can take some time to respond. If you don't have a technical background, it might be difficult to go through the tool and get something out of it. Needs training.
The ideal tool to centralize your tracks
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Segment is that it centralizes all the tracking tools to help companies analyze the information collected from the mobile app in each channel.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I see is that maybe the main panel should have more options for the case of Google Analytics to extract a bit more general information from the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best benefits are that it centralizes the information for the business analysis part, making the option of information centralization across various analysis channels really good.

Segment is the standard for collecting customer product usage data
What do you like best about the product?
With segment, we can identify key product usage events and collect them for use in other tools. We can pass product usage data into our data warehouse for use with our business intelligence tool, pass data to our Marketing Automation Platform, and pass this data to our CRM.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some of these applications, it would be helpful if it were more automatic and our product team didn't have to set up events. It can also be a nuisance to set some other tools up to receive segment events if they don't already have them coming in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment allows us to get better visibility into how users are using our product and make that data actionable in other tools where we need it (MAP, CRM, BI Tool, etc.).
Analytics simplified
What do you like best about the product?
As an engineer using Segment I enjoy the fact that I don't have to add N SDKs to my apps for analytics purposes, but just one. I also really enjoy the live debugger.
What do you dislike about the product?
For my, albeit limited interactions, with Segment there is nothing I dislike about it.

Cleaner call sites of the tracking code in our app.

What do you like best about the product?
The possibilities that it gives to marketing and engineering team to segment valuable nitches and attributes for making specialized marketing campaigns.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration with services like Zapier is a little bit difficult to be used only by marketers (as we have to export the webhook). It would be amazing if we have a more friendly feature that allows us to create zaps without requiring an engineer.
