Simple yet powerful solution, even for non-technical marketers

What do you like best about the product?
One of the things I like best us that segment is intuitive by design and very user-friendly. One of the best aspects is that you can quickly see which data sources are connected and no longer having to remember which sources are connected to which destinations (and how), but rather Segment shows in the overview the current connections, making them easy to audit.
The number of sources and destinations is also great, and this is expanded on by the segment team. So apart from the main ones (Google Analytics, Facebook, Google Tag Manager, etc.) there are other, lesser known integrations possible as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the biggest strengths is also something that can cause dislike: because Segment is at the center of sources and destinations, you can quickly become dependent on it. As companies scale, it would become increasingly difficult to remove Segment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past, all tools would need to be connected to one another directly. This works fine when it's only a couple of sources and destinations, but as complexity grows, so does the need to maintain the overview and adjust source/destinations. Segment makes it easy to maintain this overview, and to add new sources/destinations with just a few clicks, ensuring the data-flow between them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's worth checking out if it's right for you - keep in mind that the ease comes at a cost: once it's integrated, it'll be increasingly difficult to remove from your current setup. Additionally, as your organization scales, you will assumedly receive more traffic to your site, which means more events sent to the various destinations. As a result, pricing is going to increase over time as well.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment makes it easier to unify and take action on events across my tech stack. For example, I use Segment to monitor key events within Product then push those to a transactional email tool (Customer.io) for lifecycle messaging.
What do you dislike about the product?
Implementation can sometimes take a bit of technical know-how or support from a developer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syncing event and lifecycle data across platforms, which is key for effective product marketing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
From a marketing perspective, check with your dev or product team to make sure they are committed to adequately implementing and maintaining the segment tags. Also, make sure that Segment not only connects with key platforms in your stack but that you have a clear idea of how the data will actually be leveraged

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Segment (and why we signed up in the first place) is that we can store our Google Analytics data in our database by using Segment in conjunction with Google Tag Manager.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is not as comprehensive as I would like it to be. It's gotten better over time, but when doing the initial setup, I found the documentation to be lacking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We integrate with Facebook Conversions API, Klaviyo, send and store data in our database and different destinations. It's easy to have the one tool that will do all our integrations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommend: It's a great all-inclusive product that has solved almost all of our integration needs. They also have great customer support.

What do you like best about the product?
Extreamly easy implementation. We had this up and running in our code base in less than a day with very little ongoing support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Less about Segment it's self, but it would be helpful if more tools used segment data and were able to push their content out to Segment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having all our data in one place makes it super easy to try out new analytics tools with little to no effort with the ability to immediately see their impact.

Making data integrations accessible for all

What do you like best about the product?
Segment allows non-technical users to easily integrate tracking source data with well-known third-party services/products. This removes the dependency from tech/engineering and allows, for example, a marketing department to customize client-side integrations with marketing channels.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not every third-party source or destination is available. Segment provides generic integrations through Functions, but this requires technical programming knowledge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment helps us integrate our Tracking sample data and other source data to synchronize to our data warehouse easily. From the data warehouse, we can then perform any additional transformations as needed.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment Middlewares, they help you to approach some special or complex solutions
What do you dislike about the product?
Some limitations for those destinations you need to use with different pixel or campaign ids (like Google Pixel, FB Pixel...)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Right now, we have a tool for connecting all data-based libraries and pixels (Adobe, Google Pixel, Criteo, Braze...) from our website and, the best of all, everything is following a unique tagging plan.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to instrument and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
None, at this time. I like everything about segment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using a CDP has allowed clients to cohort users and to clean the data funneling into downstream tools. One SDK versus many is so handy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Customer Support is very helpful.

If you only care about a few integrations, it can be a bit confusing to get the specific information you want
