Helps with all our analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Segment is super easy to use. I love that I can send objects of data to other data visualization tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how segment is a bit addictive. Once you start passing data, and analyzing it in ways you haven't before, you want to use it for everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Segment, we've been able to identify areas where we can improve our automation. We capture data that is hand-key entered vs. automatically populated. For the data that is most frequently hand-key entered, we're better able to identify where we should spend engineering resources.
Save weeks if not months on future marketing software integrations
What do you like best about the product?
Tag once, integrate with hundreds of different marketing platforms—no need for a costly integration project with engineers and product teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive but worth time savings if you can afford it. It will end up paying for itself in labor costs with a few integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prevents lock-in and migration challenges from moving from one platform to another—all your data in one place.
Segment is an ultimate tool in the area of product data management
What do you like best about the product?
The best advantage of using Segment is that it allows you to connect with hundreds of advanced tools, starting from analytics, through email marketing, and many more in the easiest possible way. You do not have to worry about anything in the area of data management once your Segment is implemented
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to have an opportunity to extract the data directly from segment environments, right now we are doing that using some other tools, but that would be a great enhancement
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do not have to worry about anything in the area of data management, there is no need to integrate anything and ask developers for support, which is a great advantage. Moreover, segment helps me to test events and control whether are there any troubles in the area of events triggering or storying

A top-notch product that resolves the majority of problems in the area of data management and integrations with external tools
Great tool for capturing user information and behavior and passing them to hundreds of tools.

It's a great tool, powerful features, easy to use, integrates with many tools, can't be missing from your marketing tech stack.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great to have more video and hands-on tutorials on youtube.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Measuring customers behavior and sync it to the rest of the tools in my stack.

It's a great tool, and it has a free forever plan! It worths trying. You'll find out that it upgrades your entire marketing stack and gives you more options to improve your business.
Great plumbing and foundation to build out our first party data.

Documentation, Innovation, and Flexibility. Connecting disparate event sources becomes almost trivial.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of Cloud Data Sources for ERP/PIM related work at the moment. They have done well adding "functions" to ease any custom event implementations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting our silo'd customer information and building a much more efficient data warehouse than we would have been able to accomplish if we rolled our own.

Unfortunately, you cannot set up functions to be part of an existing source

Make sure all analytics systems are synchronised, easy and consistent deploy of new analytics tools.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment makes it super simple to instrument their too and ensure that you are seeing consistent data in all of your down-stream visualization tools. The fact that you can spin up a new tool (like hotJar) with no code, in a few minutes, makes it the perfect product management weapon.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish that Segment had some basic visualizations. They are ONLY a CDP, and they do it fantastically, but putting together some cookie-cutter visuals could help get it instrumented on more clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment allows us to not have tool-lock. We can instrument our tracking in Segment and have confidence that we can visualize the data in whatever the best downstream tool is for the job. Additionally, with all of the data privacy concerns that are emerging, Segment offers us a convenient one-stop-shop to offer any data requests that come through GDPR or others.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple interface, easy setup and incredibly powerful features to capture, govern and protect data and empower the business to self-sufficiently generate actionable insights and audiences, and activate them to any channel - all automatically and in real-time.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only desire would be to have a more visual experience - highlighting a summary of details and behaviours for each profile, and perhaps some actionable insights that may be of interest to assist in building audiences. This isn't it's primary purpose, but it would be nice to have this feature built in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can provide sales, digital, product, marketing, customer service, customer experience, legal and compliance, and data and analytics teams access to a single view of all customer behaviour to create custom and highly targeted audiences for executing interventions to deliver highly personalised experiences to customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is important to thoroughly and properly consider your tracking plan and define all key customer activity that is important to understanding customer journeys and adopt an intuitive and consistent naming convention to support it. To simplify this process, I strongly recommend getting the Protocols component as part of your package - as this can enforce tracking standards and avoid creating messy data.

Great support staff and good response time.
What do you dislike about the product?
How I have to email support every time a new field comes into our SFDC objects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Piping data from Salesforce and our production app databases to visualize in Data Studio and work with in BigQuery
Great team, great product
What do you like best about the product?
Title says it all, the tool allows us to a pass and control data flows on a level outside of code, and is extremely valuable to our core business, but the team that we have been able to work with to this point have been phenomenal. Our CSMs, AMs, and Solution Engineers have all been extremely knowledgeable and incredibly responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I would say here is that if you set this tool up incorrectly, it has the potential to be difficult to fix. Make sure that you are documenting everything and have an idea and plan before implementation on what you need and want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is our CDP. All of our event streaming data flows through it and it is working so well for our product that we are expanding it to our marketing. It really allows visibility and customization on a level that is outside of code, which is incredibly useful for our non technical team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool once you get comfortable with using it!
