Segment simplified app tracking process

What do you like best about the product?
1. help us collect tracking data from mobile app
2. Extensible tracking data model
3. Can sync data to Redshift、S3 and Kinesis
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Not able to filter events before sync with team plan.
2. There is no open source start kit to display the tracking data using the segment data model for data presentation, and need to use commercial platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. App behavior tracking
2. Simplify the data ingestion process

What do you like best about the product?
Automatic assignment of anonymousId and the association of that Id with a user Id after an identify call. Rich set of possible sources and destinations.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI can sometimes be slightly non-intuitive and difficult to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting data for experimentation. Have realized improved targeting through Persona traits.

easy to integrate with. pretty reliable. Trust that the data is being logged. flexible in where I can share that data

with there was an easy way to merge events that were similar but misspelled

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface, love the debugger
What do you dislike about the product?
I've had a so-so experience with customer support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inorder to capture all info, we put in proxy servers. Support on how-to hasn't been great - we've bene working with support on over 2 weeks now with no more information than when we had first started.

Segment is the single way to instrument your web application for all integrations

What do you like best about the product?
After we instrumented segment, all of our other tools instantly get integrated.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI isn't great. Especially for slack and zapier integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
connecting lots of platforms like heap, hubspot, slack, userpilot, all with a single click

What do you like best about the product?
Well, it was very user-friendly connecting all of our data sources, very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, even tho we know what it does still some endpoints are not very understandable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple data sources connected in one data processor which is easier for us to direct it to a data visualization tool and have the BI person give us valuable insights.

What do you like best about the product?
I like to implement one service and integrate all other services with the Segment. It's quite great value if you send data to multiple services. You don't need to worry about each implementation separately. Developer time saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any negative comments, everything is working properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Don't spend more time on development for integration.

Excellent Product, Great CS Folks

What do you like best about the product?
Product solves a real need in a very elegant manner
It just works, very little errors and downtime
They introduce new features to make it easier to manage instrumentation of events
What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive
They've started placing restrictions on recorded events per user
Overall the sales experience was quite horrid. Endless bickering over contracts and last-minute surprises in the order form!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily data governance but it will also help in data integration going forward.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't think about it, check it out, I'm sure it will be useful
If you've decided to get it though......knuckle up because the sales cycle will be hell.....they have a loads of funding so little incentive to negotiate and very cutthroat sales practices. At one point had to literally remind the AE that I was the customer and he was the seller.

What do you like best about the product?
It seems to do what few other SaaS products do - to route all your data to the right tools without having to re-instrument everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish it could do more on the customer persona side. But we don't actually have the personas product so maybe I just need to pony up and do that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Piping data to all of tools
2. Instrumenting the website so that we know what events are happening when and then analyzing it later.
