Definitely a go-to tool for CDP
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that you can connect data sources & destinations in less than a minute is just plain crazy.
What do you dislike about the product?
In terms of corporating data quality segment should provide better software then just rule sets & post-functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We didn't want to send data to 10 different places while doing the integrations and we wanted to run the events by segment
Great tool for event implementation
What do you like best about the product?
Debugger for verifying events.
Able to see the schema for complete events implemented.
Able to see failed events which help in debugging any issue related to events implementation

What do you dislike about the product?
Mostly everything is there. There should be some custom dashboard which we can make according to our requirements. Any mechanism to share failed events reports on email would be very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly everything around events implementation is sorted with the segment. Previously debugging of events was quite challenging but after segment any team member can test these events.
Segment integration helps us keep data up-to-date when being passed through our CRM and DWH
What do you like best about the product?
There are a lot of integrations available with Segment which makes onboarding new softwares easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I work w/Segment peripherally so there's not much negative that I've seen. I'm sure the data folks may have a different opinion during setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently trying to connect our B2B lists with Braze and ensure Segment is passing data back and forth accurately.
Good CDP tool for companies
What do you like best about the product?
Helps companies with complex set-ups to connect to different tools. In one single integration can manage many products (apps, webapps, scripts) with different tools (crm, tracking, cloud).
What do you dislike about the product?
It's an expensive tool and over costs are pretty high. If you go above the MTUs allocated for the month, you can end up paying the same as the contract only in penalites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have different products and apps depending on the country. The Tech Team cannot manage to make individual integration with marketing tools such as Braze, Appsflyer, Google Analytics, so we use Segment to integrate and control everything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Customer Support can take some time to respond. If you don't have a technical background, it might be difficult to go through the tool and get something out of it. Needs training.
The ideal tool to centralize your tracks
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Segment is that it centralizes all the tracking tools to help companies analyze the information collected from the mobile app in each channel.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I see is that maybe the main panel should have more options for the case of Google Analytics to extract a bit more general information from the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best benefits are that it centralizes the information for the business analysis part, making the option of information centralization across various analysis channels really good.

Segment is the standard for collecting customer product usage data
What do you like best about the product?
With segment, we can identify key product usage events and collect them for use in other tools. We can pass product usage data into our data warehouse for use with our business intelligence tool, pass data to our Marketing Automation Platform, and pass this data to our CRM.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some of these applications, it would be helpful if it were more automatic and our product team didn't have to set up events. It can also be a nuisance to set some other tools up to receive segment events if they don't already have them coming in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment allows us to get better visibility into how users are using our product and make that data actionable in other tools where we need it (MAP, CRM, BI Tool, etc.).
Analytics simplified
What do you like best about the product?
As an engineer using Segment I enjoy the fact that I don't have to add N SDKs to my apps for analytics purposes, but just one. I also really enjoy the live debugger.
What do you dislike about the product?
For my, albeit limited interactions, with Segment there is nothing I dislike about it.

Bad experience post-Twilio acquisition, avoid Segment if you can
What do you like best about the product?
Segment was great when they were an independent company. Since being acquired by Twilio, their culture has changed and they do not treat their customers well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way Segment, post Twilio-acquisition, treats its customers is bad.

We use Twilio for back-end API connections.
An incredible tool to use on marketing.
What do you like best about the product?
The possibilities that it gives to marketing and engineering team to segment valuable nitches and attributes for making specialized marketing campaigns.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration with services like Zapier is a little bit difficult to be used only by marketers (as we have to export the webhook). It would be amazing if we have a more friendly feature that allows us to create zaps without requiring an engineer.

Segment, the perfect tool for track events
What do you like best about the product?
The mod to track all the events from the source to the destination
What do you dislike about the product?
they have some troubles with some destinations, or directly they are not available

We solved the same distribution of all events to all destinations in a simple way

if you want to distribute track events, try using segment, it's an excellent tool for this
