What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can funnel data from an application to many disparate sources, to meet business needs across multiple departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some useful features are hard to discover in the segment ui, such as event filtering functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment is used to gather user analytics of our applications, allowing for a greater understanding of user behavior.

What do you like best about the product?
With Segment we can control all our analytics and customer interaction channels from one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be great to have aggregated dashboards inside the platform too

It saves our time and effort when analyzing customer behavior and sending different actions accordingly through different communication channels

What do you like best about the product?
Coming into a new role it's always daunting having to learn a new platform or program, however, the easy-to-use functionality and ability to integrate Twilio helps streamline all those time-consuming tasks that can take you away from the end goal.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the issues I found when first learning the platform was in the onboarding process, not being familiar with the platform I was looking for a basic breakdown and instructional demo to help familiarise myself with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working in software and tech I deal with a lot of customers coming to me asking questions, having the one-stop platform where I can respond and engage helps increase the speed to contact which reflects through our records and nps score.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a platform that helps you natively address customers and manage tasks I would suggest looking at investing some time and seeing if it's the right fit for your business model.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment allows non-technical stakeholders to build tracking infrastructure independently from the Data Team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's costly, and it's easy to be locked in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing growth hackers to track events independently from the data team.
Routing events in a somewhat declarative way.

What do you like best about the product?
Developers only need to integrate Segment, and the rest of the third-party providers are managed in the Segment dashboard. No need to update code or deploy when you want to add new tracking systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
You are tied to the available integrations with third-party providers. Although there are many, if the one you want is not available, it becomes less useful to have Segment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment is the one-stop shop for user tracking and analytics for our web-based apps and pages. It makes integration simpler and shifts the load from developers to the departments interested in the actual data.

Pricing, it can get pretty expensive.
Sometimes the user interface is complicated to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment can ease the process by enabling you to set up your data collection protocols for your tool initially, with their own stack and then it connects with other tools, to pass the data into readable formats for those tools. It saves the effort of having to set up different collection parameters for different tools every time you wish to try a new tool out.

What do you like best about the product?
Build stats on how many login happened, when it happened. It easily helps identify how well your product is used.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have to login and do most of the work as in order to review them offline is not possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Who is accessing the application is one of the most useable info we get out of segment.

we dont really have issues ever, just set up and it works

nothing really, i havent had any issues so far

we use it for tracking user actions and our business team has really appreciated the data. Recently we learned we could add hotjar via segment and that was a huge win for us

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of integration when working with multiple data sources and destinations. Personas feature takes a lot of work off our team (BI) and the privacy section was really helpful when we started tackling GDPR related challenges.
What do you dislike about the product?
Segmnt have a lot of connections and is one of their ISPs, I wish there were more marketing source connections with better customisation. We have to rely on other tools to get data from all of our marketing sources when it would be nice to just rely on Segment for this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems we are solving with Segment revolve around data collection and having a strong overview around that - specifically having a tracking plan on how we define data to be collected and getting notified on any violations - makes data governance a breeze out the box.
