Great way to structure data collection and send to other tools

What do you like best about the product?
The combination of a great way to gather data on users and their actions, with the massive list of other tools it integrates with. It allows us to simply and quickly try out different tools, as the time to set them up is so low, as they can get all the data from Segment. This also allows us to be more flexible in changing the set of tools we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like many SaaS tools, the pricing goes up real fast for all features, even for a small startup, and so we have had to rely on other tools for things that we could have used Segment for had the price for the full functionality been more reasonable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) Allowed us to develop a consistent method to get data on users from their first web site visit to deeper interaction in our app.
2) Enabled us to reuse this method across many different tools, and thus reduced the switching cost between such tools.

I love the way in which Segment integrate all our data in a single source of truth
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes is pretty difficult to show data to our managing directors, should be pretty good if you have some reports based on personas or connections
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All my customer data and analytics is now solved with segment

What do you like best about the product?
Automatic assignment of anonymousId and the association of that Id with a user Id after an identify call. Rich set of possible sources and destinations.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI can sometimes be slightly non-intuitive and difficult to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting data for experimentation. Have realized improved targeting through Persona traits.

easy to integrate with. pretty reliable. Trust that the data is being logged. flexible in where I can share that data

with there was an easy way to merge events that were similar but misspelled

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface, love the debugger
What do you dislike about the product?
I've had a so-so experience with customer support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inorder to capture all info, we put in proxy servers. Support on how-to hasn't been great - we've bene working with support on over 2 weeks now with no more information than when we had first started.

What do you like best about the product?
I love that segment integrates with whatever tool or product you can think of - it makes getting your analytics stack in place easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Visual Tagger needs more features and flexibility comparable to Heap or Pendo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We started using Segment to track events and users in our product while we figured out what analytics tools we wanted to use, that way Engineering wouldn't be burdened if we needed to switch.

Just do it!

What do you like best about the product?
- do 1 integration with Segment and then scale it to 10 more integrations with less effort
- best startup program from what i saw
- a lot of integrations
- very useful webinars from founders (How to grow your StartUp)
What do you dislike about the product?
Its hard to write minimum characters about what i dislike in Segment because service is beautiful :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment is money saving in a lot of integrations.We do integrations with Intercom, Fullstory, Amplitude much faster.

It worth it.

What do you like best about the product?
After we instrumented segment, all of our other tools instantly get integrated.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI isn't great. Especially for slack and zapier integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
connecting lots of platforms like heap, hubspot, slack, userpilot, all with a single click

What do you like best about the product?
Segment describes itself as Customer Data Infrastructure and excels in providing that often neglected foundation for achieving the much sought after 360° view of the customer. In short, they live up to their brand's promise and offer just the right portfolio of functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
They're growing fast and responses from customer service can suffer from it. Yet, there's always a willingness and drive to perform at its best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating disparate databases, fine-grained analytics. Savings on engineering time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Follow Segment's advised plan to implement: Clean -> set up data governance properly -> only then start connecting.
