Segment works reliably for us
What do you like best about the product?
We have used Segment for the past six years as a critical part of our data stack. Segment moves data reliably. Segment allows my team to work on high-value data projects instead of building custom data pipelines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Segment lacks out-of-the-box complete integrations for some department-level systems. Those would require custom data integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Segment to move data from department-level systems to our data warehouse, analytics tools, and marketing/communication tools. Each business system becomes more valuable by having complete, accurate, and timely data. No additional staff is required to keep this data up-to-date in multiple places.

Segment has standardized connections to the platforms that we advertise on.

Setup for Segment can be a bit tricky and their support team is lacking

We're using Segment as a single point of data management between platforms. It's easy to onboard new destinations as we expand.

Segment is a vital addition to our business. We work in a very data driven way, and without Segment, we couldn't be nearly as efficient as we are today.

Not always to most intuitive UX, but better than the competition out there.

Powerful, and necessary foundation to product data
What do you like best about the product?
The segment provides consistent service and is easy to implement with a moderate amount of planning from a team. They have productized a robust foundation for groups looking to set their teams and systems up for success.
What do you dislike about the product?
By utilizing Segment you inherently become entrenched in the product itself. Taking a step backward would be a bit of challenge after usage. Thankfully Segment has become a reliable and foundational part of our operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unified data, and establishing a framework with how we gather and classify data. We also utilize Segment to feed data to in-app messaging product Appcues and application analytics platform, Amplitude.

What do you like best about the product?
When starting a new business, its key that we do not waste precious development time on building things that have already been built before. Segments integrations make things easy and fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be quite expensive however there is a free tier which is quite generous and when you factor in development costs for manual integration the pricing becomes more competitive.

Fast integration with minimal code.

Segment is great and super cool
What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can add other integrations with no code. I also like that the frontend integration with google analytics was a seamless swap.
What do you dislike about the product?
It felt super easy to accidentally go over our MTU's. But once we figured out why we were going over our MTU's, it wasn't that bad.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our data gets funneled through Segment. Frontend events, backend events, even other data that we want to funnel into our data lake for analytics.
Used segment for UI usage tracking
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the UI was easy to use. Also we did have an script to push data from UI.

Track usage of UI which we never understood clearly how clients were using us

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to centralize all data in the same tool is the best. You can forget about setting so many different tracking tools and pixels in your web or app
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface can be a little unintuitive, and sometimes it gets stuck, so we have to reload the page several times.

It helps us track product interactions with one snippet and send them everywhere.
