Great as an Administrator, Less as a Receiver

  • October 06, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As an administrator and project manager, this program gives you a ton of opportunity to customize workflow and keep track of various metrics, either project-centric or person-centric. It works very well to manage complex interactions and gather survey/report information to help measure performance in the long run.
What do you dislike about the product?
Emails emails emails. As someone that also receives notifications from further up the food chain, Targetprocess likes to send emails to let everyone know what is happening. Not that communication is a bad thing, but you may come back to your desk to a ton of emails letting you know that things have moved from step to step.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a more visual representation for some of our projects for both our users and for occasional external observers, and Targetprocess solved that problem. We benefit greatly from the clean layout.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The workflow management, project management, assignment, and task-tracking aspects of this software are fantastic. Definitely experiment with the settings and auto-generated communications before getting frustrated, as there may be a way to turn on or turn off specific messages that the program automatically sends.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the design and intuitive User Inteface
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes could be too complicated. And when they updated the system it works very slow
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's good solution for short and long term planning. You are able to create iterations and see the perspective.

TP has some pros and cons.

What do you like best about the product?
A lot of functionality like giving the commit number of GITHub is one of the features I really like.
What do you dislike about the product?
I totally dislike the UI, it is very confusing and not intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we try to follow the agile process, so a lot of tasks, user stories and epics are assigned in tp

TargetProcess is a good way to track user stories and current status

  • August 08, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very visual so it's pretty easy to see where a task is in the swim lanes. I've had minimal training and have been able to maneuver to do basic things like creating and editing tickets, move tasks around, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The screen refresh is very inconsistent. Sometimes the screen will update right after I save changes and other times it won't, sometimes even after I do both a screen refresh (via TP provided refresh button) and browser refresh.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using TP for our bug and user story tracking to help keep the company on the same page and going in the right direction. We are using it in an Agile workflow so it's a key part of all of our meetings, from daily sprint standups to backlog grooming and sprint planning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend using TP because the user interface is pretty intuitive and very visual. If you're a key command person, you can do that. But if you prefer to do everything with the mouse/trackpad, this tool is great for that.

Targetprocess for Project Managers and SCRUM teams

  • July 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
TP makes it easy to associate work with major feature objectives and then track the work's development progress. TP also integrates with a host of other work/code management platforms that makes it easy to use as a central place for work requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
The custom reporting elements of TP are clunky and seem more like an after thought then a fully realized feature. There are very basic reporting functions such as average time in state, etc. that you cannot do. It definitely a miss given that the platform specializes in work management. The notification elements of TP are also clunky - either you get too many notifications (notified about everything) or none at all. It can make it frustrating to quickly track updates on your own work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use TP to run our SCRUM sprints. It definitely helps us stay organized, plan for future sprints, and keep track of the progression of current sprints.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to do complex reporting, I would advise integrating Target process with another platform that specializes in that. Otherwise Target process is great for work tracking purposes.

Very organized and customizable

What do you like best about the product?
This tool gives us a lot leniency in terms of capabilities. It gives the team members access to boards that enables full transparency. Whether you're following Agile or Kanban, it works as necessary.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes some time to get some of the functions right.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Given the different teams we have and the process we follow, the product backlog is continuously filled. Given our reporting needs and delivery of products, such a tool is very helpful. You can easily add features to it to make it more suitable to the needs of your development/product teams.

Seemed to have an initial learning curve

What do you like best about the product?
Used TargetProcess in an enterprise setting with an IT department. The system appears to be very powerful, but also at times it seems to be like an elephant in the room.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can easily get lost in the interface, especially when trying to create a filtered view of the project tasks you're most interested in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From an organizational approach to using agile/scrum for project management, TargetProcess was used for tracking epics, user stories, tasks, and bugs for development efforts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Your team members will probably need training to understand how the TargetProcess system works, as well as how your organization plans to use the capabilities of TargetProcess.

    Internet

Super complex, but can probably do anything you need

  • May 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The infinite flexibility is pretty great. You can configure your cards in almost anyway you want. You can also automate almost every aspect of the cards.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is really easy to mess up a view and you end up with cards that do not show up anywhere. There is also a temptation to continuously mess with the settings in a way that becomes unproductive pretty quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Engineering and product planning and work tracking. It was our first card based ticketing system, and being able to plan sprints and see all of everyone's work in one place was great. We were also able to each customize our views to make sure each person saw what was most important to them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you really understand your process. If you go in not sure about how you want to operate, there are no guide rails

Targetprocess is our go to tool for planning all our daily tasks.

  • April 11, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We love having the ability to utilize a kanban process for all our support tasks and having the scrum process for our software release planning. It gives us so much flexibility to set up our own processes without being tied to one someone else suggests we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having so much flexibility with processes/view/card design it can quickly become overwhelming. We also find it hard to find tasks and views. We find it hard to keep things organized at a high level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize different processes for different types of tasks and Targetprocess gives us the ability to create and utilize our own processes how we need them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to go through the user guides which are very helpful in getting set up and started.
