Flexible tool that when mastered can be a powerful addition to your FP&A ecosystem
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility, clean, structured user interface, performance speed
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes time to ramp and understand platform, structure decreases flexibility, need to have in house superusers to maintain and update model
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to create more operational efficiencies and drive innovation within the organization. Processes were streamlined in a singular application and reduce overall time to produce reporting and planning outputs. Better visibility into the forecast cycle and more accurate results were a direct byproduct of the software.

can have better ux and require advanced Machine learning & Artificial intelligence modeling scenarios for assisting businesses with decision making

Most of the customers could generalize the business planning process across geo's, thus bringing in standardization. Driver-based planning resulting in a reduction of planning time. what-if analysis for better decision making

if you are in the market looking for a tool that helps you with business planning and execution, I would strongly recommend Anaplan, irrespective of the business function or industry

Automation of spreadsheets in finance and brand building. The ease of collaboration globally and ease of use.

The customisability of the tool means that most things are possible!

All functionality from classic dashboards has not been replicated in the UX.

Currently looking at real estate financial modelling using the tool to underwrite new deals and analyse different scenarios.

Anaplan Models can be customized based on the use case. Rather than having a fixed model.

Real-Time Updates, multidimensionality, UX have all made it hard for me to even look at a spreadsheet anymore

Space constrictions sometimes get in the way of building the model in the desired way

Businesses moving their existing planning processes into Anaplan save so much time and can digest so much more information quicker. They are now using their time on more strategic work, such as how to improve forecasts and processes and how to make better business decisions based on improved planning.

Make sure you have users that want to take advantage of a tool like Anaplan. Because it is 100% customizable, you will need serious user engagement to get the right product.

Anaplan can further work upon the usability, support, limited layer of information to provide a delightful end-user experience.

I've been using Anaplan for 6 years now across multiple use cases and it is always a pleasure to hear from our clients how useful it has been for them in terms of widespread planning across the organization which means that they have comprehensive information to continuously adapt plans as they sense changes in the market.

It's the best tool so far for Analysis and Planning in almost any domain possible. As it's a blank slate, businesses can design it as per their needs, the domains they are into and the existing process that they are following.
Also, Anaplan is coming with new features now and then to progressively improvise the tool to the best of customer's needs.

That it does not have a function for "today's date".

I am driving organizations in their transformational journey from purely manual or excel based to automation by understanding the business trends and analysis readily available in Anaplan.

The flexibility of the platform allows for excellent scalability and possibilities for solutions.

It is a clean slate platform that allows for ultimate flexibility but also means nothing comes "out of the box." Everything is custom and takes time to design and build.

I have been a part of solutions in Anaplan regarding Sales Performance Enablement, Technology Costing, and Management Reporting.
