Easy use tools for forecast, but hard to build
What do you like best about the product?
Easy use tools for my monthly forecast purposes and easy to pull out for manual amendment in excel file. I can also see live report as long as the database is up-to-date with some manual pushes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard to build as it involves a lot of formulas and perhaps linkage with other dashboard which make it more complicated. The report is also quite hard to change to suit individual needs too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can easily pull the recurring report and filter based on my preference, that's made my life much easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look into your company's requirements and processes first before considering this software, the more complex company nature the harder to build the dashboards and reports.

Anaplan
What do you like best about the product?
Super helpful for tracking sales and churn. Great for forecasting payout.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was easier to customize and track based on date/time vs showing a list, would have updates, sync to email. Wish it would categorize better and have more of a newsfeed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to better forecast and track sales/compensation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a sales professional definitely use Anaplan!

What do you like best about the product?
Our project was really complex, we decided to integrated 6 models (Sales Budget, RFQ, Investment Budget, P&L and Balance Sheet Budget and PMT, medium long term plan). So the goal was not to realize 6 models, but to create the integration between them. GOAL OBTAINED

The is linked with users and not with performance

What-if analyses ... that used to take a day are
done in seconds with Anaplan, with zero risk of mistakes

Great modeling capability, connecting financial planning with sales and ops planning.

Learning could take some time for those who’s good at excel.

Replacing excel modeling, enabling collaboration.

Start with a small project... commit team resources and get executive sponsors.
Anaplan Implementation
What do you like best about the product?
Once you get your head around it, it is a simple modelling tool that understands time and data structures. The more time spent planning it before diving in the better your end result will be. We all want to dive into new technology and I'm a firm believer of the 'play with a product to learn it' approach but on this one planning is worth the time spent ten times over.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting your head around it takes time and slips from memory easily. Focus on delivery and you'll be fine.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now do our budgeting and financial forecasting through Anaplan, have built three of our four underlying business models, with the last one coming this year followed by a overarching strategic model that will tie them all together.
Great tool to manage sales forecast - easy to use !
What do you like best about the product?
I used Anaplan as a budgeting and forecasting tool to track MRR and ARR for a team of relationship managers. The fact that all relevant information is at your fingerprints to manage your forecasts with confidence.
You could also change the growth rate/growth method based on real time information, rather than rely only on historical data.
Also, you could connect your sales opportunities/stage from Salesforce to Anaplan, which will immediately adjust your forecast. Tons of really great functionality at your fingertips!

What do you dislike about the product?
Multiple tabs often times caused the software to slow down.
When looking at data from tableau, software can be very slow, but not quite sure if it was an Anaplan issue or a server issue on our end.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to resolve the disconnection between our budgeting/forecasting mechanisms and our sales opportunities from Salesforce. As managers, we wanted to make every sales person accountable for their MRR /ARR forecast, while being able to make changes in real time, review, make adjustments based on seasonality or specific events affecting our customers, etc.

Anaplan for modeling
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of Anaplan is fantastic. I like being able to have control of my model and make changes myself rather than having to work through our IT change process. Also the visibility into the components of our models is something we never had before moving to Anaplan. This helps us ensure our projections are more accurate and accepted by the Sales organization
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan is it's own unique language. If you have no experience with it you have to plan on a learning curve and can't simply "Google it". You need to be willing to invest the time and effort into learning the material so it can be frustrating at times when you get stuck and there aren't a lot of quick, widely available, support options

Our industry experiences rapid change and we want to be able to plan and support that direction.
Best Modeling Tool Around
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is an incredible tool for modeling. You have the ability to create endless lists and dimensions that can be used for modeling. Imagine custom drop down menus, date fields, boolean check boxes, and much more. These modeling fields can be used to create great modeling! Also, Anaplan has the capacity to work within many different areas of the business. You can create an FP&A plan, inventory plan, sales territory and quota plan, sales compensation calculation, and really any business modeling you can think of. Other tools in this category cannot create models like this in other parts of the business. Finally, Anaplan manages to create this data real-time. Other competitors cannot create data real-time like Anaplan can.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being a tool that can accomplish all business modeling needs, it can get implemented poorly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
FP&A, Sales planning, Sales compensation, and inventory planning.
Sales Manager
What do you like best about the product?
The main thing that I liked having everything in one view. I also could easily pull reports on my reps YTD Number. It was great to use during a 1-1 to show progress or to talk about strategy to get back to their goal.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main thing that I disliked was that it wasn't connected to the drill down data. I couldn't click on the number to see what that number was comprised of. There also were a lot of days where it was down. As sales people, we are tracking our number daily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business problem that its solving- Visibility of Sales Performance in order to hit sales goals. The benefits that I have realized are- no manual tracking of sales numbers, rep accountability.
