Anaplan replaced shared spreadsheets.
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan's security feature enable input data accountability. Its dashboards or reports update on the fly when data change.
Its flexible modelling features allow seamlessly model update. For example, when adding a new entity to entity list in a model, the same set of calculations will applied to the new entity straight away. No need to duplicate calculations for the new entity.

What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboard functionality is not as flexible as excel. For example, font size in dashboard is not adjustable. Cell highlighting by user is not possible. Line item alias is not there, we need to create a separate line item to accommodate the reporting requirement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Anaplan, we used spreadsheet for monthly workforce planning process which involves 20 cost centers and around 400 workforce resources. Some resources will be shared by multiple cost center, and it caused double counting in planning. To maintain the accuracy and integrity of data, a delegated staff responsible to meet with individual head of business functions and to input the workforce planning data for them. Also, it took the staff around 3-4 stressful days to produce a consolidation report. During these 3-4 days, any new-comer or resignation still need to be handled and updated to get an accurate report.
With Anaplan, individual head of business functions are able to input the workforce planning data themselves via the self-serve dashboard. With the control of cost center resources hierarchy, planning for shared workforce resources without double count become possible. Also, a cost center dashboard, which is impossible in spreadsheet model, allows the head of business functions to review their own workforce planning. Once the workforce planning data is completed by the head of business functions, the consolidation report is produced automatically. For any changes in resource, it reflects in the report immediately.

What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is a great Planning tool and canbe used for various use cases and it has strong connected capabalities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan is not a good tool for User Experiance. It lacks a lot in UX design

With Anaplan we were able to connect a lot people at one platform
Highly Customizable No Code Business Application Building Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is highly customizable and can be used to create any business application. You can make changes to it quickly and you don't need a engineering team to support if the platform is built right.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of learning curve and it can be costly.

We use Anaplan to automate financial modeling.

- Minor limitations of the UX that can be handled by workaorunds

Anaplan helps the businesses address the disconnets between teams while allowing them to be efficient and transparent with each other. Having all team members talk and work with the same language in one unified platform fosters the trust and collaboration amongs teams while increasing the accuracy of the otucome.
A Highly Effective, Intuitive EPM System
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is an excellent tool to standardize their planning processes and connect previously disparate systems. The speed at which an effective model can be built and integrated into an overall business process is one of the biggest advantages of the Anaplan platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the challenges with Anaplan is the upfront investement to successfully integrate data with Anaplan. One of Anaplan's key advantages is the ability for a line-of-business user to be the model builder. This advantage can only be fully achieved with some initial investment to get data flowing into Anaplan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan helps solve the following problems for our clients: planning and budgeting, enrollment and tuition forecasting, program economic analysis, capital plannning and budgeting, and long range planning to name a few

Recently the cost of the tool has increased, but it is still preferable because of the value proposition it brings.

Error-free and a streamlined way of assigning accounts to territories. Manage territories dynamically.
Adjust/move geographies (postal codes) within Territories among different businesses.

What do you like best about the product?
What I love most about Anaplan is how versatile it is. Anaplan is used by a varietey of different industries for multiple use cases because of this. The ability to connect different functions and departments into Anaplan to develop a consolidated forecast that is unique to each funcitons needs is a game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the interconnectivity is great, you need to be careful when making system changes that it is not having unintentional effects.

What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is an advanced modeling platform which connects people, data, and plans across the enterprise to a single source of truth. It allows for collaboration across various divisions and enables businesses to plan top to bottom and bottoms up across Finance, Sales , Supply chain, HR and other divisions. It has an intiutive User Interface which provides capabilities of latest Management Reporting functionalities as well. It is truly a revolutionary platform which definitely provides an edge to businesses using it. The plaform also has the ability to pull data from various sources through easily configurable in ETL's / File loads etc
What do you dislike about the product?
Although anaplan is a highly scaleable and flexible platform, it is important to ensure that the foundations of the model are built correctly during any implementation to allow for long term sustainability and scaleability of the model. Anaplan is easy to learn and implement but in order to achieve scaleable models, in depth solution architecture experience is required
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan allows to solve various business problems and supports unlimited use cases. Anaplan has enabled us to model FP&A budgets, Real Estate Valuations and Forecasting, Incentive Compensation Management , workforce planning and various other use cases. Across all use cases it has enabled users to easily model various scenarios and in real time view results of what if analysis on their plans.

What do you like best about the product?
Being worked on legacy products in the past, writing logics or formulas in Anaplan is much simpler & fast. Anyone with excel knowldege can easily build or atleast read calculations.
The drill down functionality allows to easily trace back the calculations on the spot, no need to open backend tables or doing dummy calculations in excel to verify results.
The flexibility it provides to build only what's needed & structure the model as you want. This allows business to customize their models/processes the way they want rather than fitting your process into pre-configured planning softwares.

What do you dislike about the product?
Though the model latency is outcome of how the model is built, bigger models usually face data latency or "model busy" or concurrency issues, not good with huge chunck of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In current project, we are streamilining the production & material planning for our client. Earlier each business unit had their own excel spreadsheets and used to work in silos, any business dicision/change used to happen over formal cimmunication channels and to reflect that decision took time. Now all these planning is being streamlined into Anaplan, stakeholders can have access to relevant data in real-time at one place & will speed up the decison making & planning. All the manual calculations, reporting will be automated & planners can focus more on planning rather than consolidating and prepariong reports for planning.
