Moving from another cloud backup solution, this made it a lot easier and more affordable
What do you like best about the product?
Druva Phoenix simple to set up and it has worked for us when we needed it. We moved from another well known cloud backup system that didn't allow us as much control for what we had to back up. Also restoring those back ups were not easy. Druva Phoenix addressed those issues and also it cost us significantly less.
All you have to do is install the client and your server can be backed up for file or whole system recovery.
All you have to do is install the client and your server can be backed up for file or whole system recovery.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to watch your back up storage growth as even with de-duped data, your storage can increase significantly when added to your back up environment. I wish the DRaaS solution was more robust so we could just turn on a downed server in the cloud.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to move away from backing up our servers on site. This was to due to many factors, such as cost of hardware and on site support, limited space to house the hardware and much more. Druva Phoenix solved our problems with a cost effective and secure solution.
Great
What do you like best about the product?
Being a cloud backup. Simple to install and has saved me several times
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at All. It is great. It did take a little while to learn all of the in and outs of the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having the assurance that you have a cloud backup of your server.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Insync is another great product that Druva offers
Excellent product, wish there was better Linux support!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, easy to deploy. Minimally disruptive to our Engineering folks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Linux support could be better (limited distros, no official support for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated endpoint backup; users have been able to restore their own data when needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
macOS deployment was very easy; having a standardized hostname convention also makes deployment less painful.
It works
What do you like best about the product?
Not intrusive at all, trusted backup. Once configured no further intervention for the end user or admin.
What do you dislike about the product?
Don't have any dislikes about the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protection with very little participation from the end user. Self Service retrieval is nice.
Used to be a fan, will never use again
What do you like best about the product?
How Druva used to be in the past, as in, an early adopter of cloud infrastructure and a reasonable product.
What do you dislike about the product?
We were pushed away by Druva as a customer on multiple different accounts: first, our "unlimited" plan for backups turned out to not be unlimited. When asked about this, Druva's response was that we should delete stuff, which makes no sense. There was no option to simply pay more for extra storage, as this was already the unlimited plan. On Phoenix specifically, they started charging us as soon as a contract was signed, well before a single bit was backed up. We were paying for many TBs of backups before we started using the product. Then Druva started discontinuing features that were important to us with no workarounds. We will never be using them again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are no longer solving any problems nor have realized any benefits.

Comprehensive Endpoint and Mobile Backup Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Backups occur in the background with no impact to the end user. The product suite is comprehensive and covers end point devices to include laptops, desktops, smartphones, and tablets. Data loss prevention tools, compliance settings and secure backups to a FedRamp-authorized cloud make this tool essential for backing up critical data especially for government customers. Very easy to setup and deploy in an environment with federated search capabilities when responding to e-discovery requests. The product integrates well with MDM solutions to include MobileIron and has integrations with SAML and ADFS to federated login. inSync also has integrations with Splunk for SIEM log management to integrate with any process workflows that are currently in use within your organization. Not having to maintain software or hardware was another benefit since this is an entirely SaaS product. Another thing that I liked about Druva inSync was that it did have an intuitive user interface, which was easy to use and understand from the get go.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial setup took some getting used to but the learning curve was minimal. Having an understanding of the process and workflow was easy to follow and the options for customization were endless, which may overwhelm some, but overall it was better to have more options than none. The OS migration and data refresh did take some getting used to initially, but once you get the hang of it, the process was easy to use and follow. More reporting/alerting capabilities would be appreciated, but the overall user interface was intuitive and easy to work with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems we were solving with Druva inSync was an enterprise backup solution for endpoint devices. In addition, the benefits of e-discovery and federated search made this an ideal solution. The benefits were realized whenever a user's hard drive failed and we had to do a local restore from backup. The user was up and running in no time with all settings and data files in tact minimizing the time to restore to just hours.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My recommendations would be to plan and gather requirements from all your stakeholders to include user support, security, policy, and legal. Once you gather their requirements in terms of data retention and storage, it will make implementing and setting the settings in the admin console a breeze.
Good backup!
What do you like best about the product?
It seems to do everything we need and it's reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not easier to auto-login end users. There's too many steps to end users to follow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need a reliable backup solution to store and retrieve lost data from endpoints. Our end users do not have any problems with this software.
Decent Solution to Protect Your Data
What do you like best about the product?
We found Druva inSync is a descent solution for mid size organizations looking a central backup solution. Can become a bit of a headache for larger organizations due to occasional issues with agents. This could be easily overcome if Druva support steps us a bit and backup client is thoroughly tested for bugs and incompatibilities before release.
What do you dislike about the product?
As mentioned earlier there quite some room for improvement such as Backup agent reliability, Support needs some improvement and reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Druva inSync is being used and has been our backup solution of choice to protect all our users data on corporate owned machines for both onsite and remote employees across the organization. Aside for a number of issues backing up OneDrive for Business and local backup client stop backing up randomly for several users for a period of time, eventually these issues got resolved. Biggest benefit is being able to manage backup from one central location.
A very good backup solution which is easy to deploy and manage.
What do you like best about the product?
We like how simple it is to deploy and manage. It also places a limited load on the client's processor. The cloud options are also a welcome addition. We like the data discovery and retention as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything we dislike about this product. It has been used many times to recover critical files for our users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a need to maintain backups for all of our travelers. Druva makes it easy to happen while people are on the road. Our support team also uses Druva backups to help build new client computers for existing users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to look at all of the cloud options. There are a number of things you can do with the backups once they are in place.
Been a great add to our IT arsenal.
What do you like best about the product?
Pretty much a set it and forget piece of software. Works well and throttles as well so there is not a large effect on users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Bit pricey and depending on how far down the rabbit hole you go can get fairly "involved".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
