Fast Analytics and Great Customer Support
What do you like best about the product?
Rockset has allowed our team to quickly analyze our data warehouse and produce analytics that weren't possible before. Easy to integrate into our system and any blockers were quickly helped by their solutions engineers. Constantly used every day to quickly find out answers or PoC on a new topic, huge fan of Rockset.
What do you dislike about the product?
Better DBT support would be great to have a more cohesive CI/CD process
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows for real time analytics on calculations needed as real time as it can get. Has been able to allow us to query across all of our data sources that would have been difficult to do prior to Rockset

Effective warehouse
What do you like best about the product?
Rockset excels at the essentials of being a warehouse with surprisingly easy setup. I have appreciated using scheduled query lambdas to do things inside of Rockset like rollups, as well as perodically push out data.
The query editor is also intuitive and effective, it is very useful to build and procure ad-hoc reports. I use Rockset daily to work on both larger projects and integrations, or just to answer quick questions that we ask of our data.
Customer support is quick, knowledgeable, and takes feature requests seriously.

What do you dislike about the product?
Managing collections can be clumsy at times, there is essentially no editing of existing collections, if you need to change anyhting about the bones of a collection like its name or folder, you must delete and recrate the collection. You can reasonably change the contents of collections with queries, but you must start over to change an ingest rule.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rockset is now our data warehouse, it allows us to clean up all the junk and keep data in one nice place, accessible with one query editor. It is a recoginized platform by other services, allowing those services interact with it, making data to flow to various destinations like a CRM.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Rockset for data visualization in my daily SQL consulting tasks, and overall, it has proven to be a powerful and efficient tool for my needs. The platform's seamless integration with SQL queries has significantly enhanced my ability to analyze and visualize data, making it an invaluable asset in my day-to-day job. The customer support provided by Rockset is commendable, particularly the quick and responsive assistance available via chat. Having reliable and efficient customer support is crucial in ensuring that any issues or queries are addressed promptly, and Rockset delivers on this front.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few SQL functions that are not currently supported by the tool. While the existing capabilities cover a broad range of functions, the absence of certain SQL functions may pose limitations for users with specific requirements. It would be beneficial for Rockset to prioritize expanding its support for a wider array of SQL functions to cater to the diverse needs of users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rockset solves real-time data analysis challenges for my SaaS company, facilitating scalable and high-performance processing of large datasets. Its user-friendly interface streamlines SQL consultations, aiding in efficient data extraction and visualization. As our main tool for data delivery, Rockset's responsive customer support ensures minimal downtime. Despite its strengths, the tool could benefit from expanding its support for additional SQL functions to better meet our evolving needs. Overall, Rockset enhances our ability to provide timely, visually compelling insights to customers in a rapidly changing SaaS environment.
Terrific Database and Tooling To help us manage our Streaming ETL pipeline

- Rockset has a great developer tooling with query lambdas, a robust API and metrics/charts to understand performance.
- The fact that it automatically indexes everything in 3 different ways saves a ton of time for us that we'd otherwise need to spend building indexes ourselves.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Definitely needs a tree view for looking at data and especially nested data so one doesn't need to scroll horizontally as much
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's replacing our existing ETL pipeline which has a ton of transformation logic. We can instead do the transformations in sql at query time to simplify our overall pipeline and
improve our ingestion throughput and query latency.
Tracing down errors is much faster in this new architecture and there is no need to manage a vast array of transformation repos

Highly Satisfied with Rockset: A Blend of Exceptional Service and Advanced Features
What do you like best about the product?
The product is very good. The queries are fast, the API is mature and growing, features such as the Query Lambdas are fantastic and integration options are solid. Above all, the service and assistance from the Rockset team is fantastic, they hold regular meetings and provide valuable technical assistance to optimizing queries and storage to tweek further the performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is the compute model and pricing. We pay for a dedicated instance while most of the time there are no queries being executed. Having a compute model similar to Serverless or something where you actually pay for what you use would be fantastic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have large scientific and medial conference and run all our Analytics on top of Rockset. Instead of managing all of that ourselves, Rockset really helps us by providing a state-of-the-art API and services for Analytics so we can focus on the queries and they can execute and scale them.
Great toolkit for Real-time Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
The product and sales team have been very supportive during our implementation process.
The product just works - we process millions of rows at great ease and rockset powers the metrics for highlighting real-time alerts and also historic metrics on our landing page for our customers.
Now, on top of the actual transaction data - we also have several layers of data restrictions or row-level security that rockset is able to handle at ease.

What do you dislike about the product?
The issue is the query efficiency is awesome that the use cases for using the tool quickly grows. It would be ideal if Rockset could recommend when its best fit and when its not but we have been trying to fit the tool in across different products.
It would also be great if Rockset could offer some pre-built connectors to BI tools. This would help our data and analytics teams quickly spin up possible use cases and also would be game-changer in the BI universe.

Powering real-time dashboards, at scale. A better elastic-search replacement.

Rockset is Rock Solid. No better tool for real-time analytics.
What do you like best about the product?
When our business requirements changed, ie. needing realtime analytics, and needing to consolidate data from 3 different global AWS regions in real-time as well, Rockset was the only tool that was capable of doing this. We used existing applications like ElasticSearch and Snowflake in our current architecture, and neither tool was able to fill this gap in our real-time analytics requirements. Not only are the feature sets amazing, and lived up to every expectation, the implementation and technical support was was truly amazing as well. Getting this sytem up and running was truly frictionless, and we were able to get the service up and running and consolidating data from 3 different AWS regions in a manner of hours. The performance and cost (versus ElasticSearch and Snowflake) were also critical factors in deciding that Rockset was the best-in-class product overall.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is rare that i say this about any vendor, but I truly am satisfied with both the product and the service/support. I have no negative thing to say about this company or its product at all.

Simply Brilliant
What do you like best about the product?
The performance is amazing and logging for analysis and latency improvement is excellent

Nothing so far. We have found it very easy to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use DynamoDB and therefore are limited by certain workloads where we need ultimate flexibility for random access patterns. By using Rockset we can maintain a single primary database for writes and then use the Dynamo stream to query it via SQL.

Rockset is a fully managed cloud-native service that independently enables processing and storage in the cloud, removing the operational burden with real-time analytics for fast queries building structured and semi-structured database data in real time, returning results in milliseconds. , Distributes shards automatically which helps teams scale without any manual intervention.
What do you dislike about the product?
Rockset is a real-time database that manages data at scale allowing efficient queries to be produced and action to be taken within limited time windows with instant customization and automation, I love this tool because it has been a great help in my company helping produce a highly efficient execution allowing flexibility and time savings due to its architecture that is designed so that outlining is not necessary and the storage format is efficient and nothing bothers me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rockset allows dynamic scaling to make use of cloud resources, it is an intelligent tool that offers my company scalability and profitability, a solution that has been very helpful for providing excellent analysis services in real time, we have noticed an increase in productivity and collaboration in addition to the efficiency of work teams achieving immediate search results without wasting time and concentrating on what is truly important.

There is no need to define a data schema/model in the early stages of product development. Yet really easy to query.
What do you dislike about the product?
A shell (like psql) is missing from the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it as a database for experimental apps built for our in-store operations. We have been able to move very quickly. the app developers can work independently of our core backend infra team
