Unreal Engine is an insanely powerful tool for Indie Devs and AAA Devs alike!
What do you like best about the product?
Unreal Engine is a very powerful game engine that has the capability to make amazing games.
Unreal Engine's Blueprint programming language makes it possible to program games without ever having to touch a single line of C++. This feature in combination with the plethora of official and community made tutorials, makes the barrier of entry for game development incredibly low, and allows almost anyone who is willing to put the work in, to make amazing experiences.
For more experienced developers and programmers, Unreal Engine 4 allows full access to their source code allowing you to change and edit the engine to your hearts content. If you create a feature that you want to share you can also send it to the devs and they may even add it to the official engine!

What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I would call out as a negative about UE4 is that updates and bug fixes can be a little slow to come out. Other than that it is all about learning how -to make games!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This engine allows us to create amazing games without having to pay upfront for a license.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Unreal Engine is an amazing, free game engine that makes it possible to create amazing experiences even if you are a small developer. I personally would reccommend this engine to anyone looking to get into game development, but would still advise that you look at the different engines available and make sure that the engine is a good fit for the game you are trying to / thinking about making.

Powerful game engine with all the bells and whistles
What do you like best about the product?
Very powerful engine with almost all features you need out of the box.
What do you dislike about the product?
Opinionated engine that forces some Epic/Unreal specific setup when that level of abstraction is not needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A powerful engine that can be used for both prototyping and finished product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a very powerful engine that requires a lot of time to understand how to use it correctly. Takes a bit of time to get going as opposed to Unity 3D which lets users get started much more quickly. The binary asset types make collaborating a pain and it is very difficult to build core gameplay mechanics unless one person is working on everything while no one else touches anything.
Easy to use and create games with
What do you like best about the product?
I love that in unreal you do not have to be a programmer to create amazing games that do not only looks amazing but can have great game play as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the need to export each asset separately. Unity lets you just save Modo files in the game content and you can drag them out from there. Instead of having to export 100s of FBXs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With blueprinting it helps me be able to create a awesome game with out having to be a programmer.
Best Engine For All Your 3D Needs
What do you like best about the product?
I started out with Unreal 2.0 which was very hard to use, however after all this time I finally understand why they call it Unreal. Whether you need to create simple renders or photorealistic interior shots, Unreal has your back all the way. It's fairly intuitive, packed with examples and has a marketplace full of professionally produced content, plenty of which is free!
Unreal also features a node based script creator. Things that were previously only possible to do with code can now be done with a few drag and drop operations, and it's not just simple things, you can create entire AI systems without ever having to write a line of code.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to fault Unreal, the content it comes with and the tutorials give it a very strong rating in my opinion. If anything the only fault I can think of is that newcomers may not be familiar with some of the terminology used in the environment and that poses a problem to end users as the documentation may not cover all terms.
You may require a beefier PC than the one you've currently got if you want to work with Unreal, but that's to be expected when you work with such a high-end engine.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously our money would vanish as we acquired more and more assets, however the Unreal marketplace lets us cherry-pick the things we need instead of having to buy massive bundles where we use maybe one or two things. We can invest the money saved in things like workstation upgrades and, well, more assets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your workstations are capable of running Unreal. Have Google and the Unreal documentation on standby for if you encounter something you're unfamiliar with.
The best software for interactive architectural visualization, virtual tours and game development.
What do you like best about the product?
It is open source. Availability, photorealistic visualization. Advanced visualization system allows you, after a ligth building, make it screenshots, and to travel freely on it in real time.
Many built-in editors greatly simplify the work. Other pleasant things - great, friendly community engine, regular updates and the ability to create assets list for the stock exchange Asset Marketplace.
One of the great advantages of the engine - a visual programming system - blueprints. With this system alone can create absolutely all game logic. it is perfectly suitable for those who are far from the line of programming, namely designers, but also it has the opportunity to work with the language C ++.

What do you dislike about the product?
Excessive difficulty of the engine for beginners. You cant import simple object animation or baked animation without rigs, only skeletal mesh, but you can create it inside the engine using blueprints. It requires a lot of hard disk space and a powerful graphics card if you want epic textures, materials, lighting settings and miscalculations speed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use the engine for Architectural visualization, video presentations, interactive virtual tours on the basis of UE4 technology. If we talk about the use of the Engine for video presentations and Architectural visualization in real time - it is the best tool, because other programs perform the same tasks much more slowly.
Also UE4 rendering speed and quality is a pleasant surprise.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a program for the rapid implementation of high-quality architectural visualization or video presentations, and you do not want to wait for the result of rendering sutkami- this software is for you.
Also, if you want to develop computer games you should pay attention to this engine.

Powerful and FREE!!
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, the fact that it is free is probably the best for me. I'm not a game designer and I would never have had the need or the desire to pay a large amount of money for this program, but I've learned a lot being able to use it for free.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can get a little confusing (extremely so since I am self-teaching) and it seems to be designed mainly to handle smaller FPS-type games.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just playing with it
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I learn everything from YouTube! It's an excellent source for information.
Great, easy to use game engine!
What do you like best about the product?
It is very simple to use. Anything can just be added into your workspace, and manipulated. There is a large store of pre-built assets, scripts, and just about anything else you can think of available for purchase, or for free. If you need help with something you can easily ask a question on the forums, or just search it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to pickup, and there are many features that you will need to spend some time viewing tutorials in order to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This lowers the cost of game production because it is an engine that has had extensive development put into it, and it has thousands of pre-built assets that can be used.
Quickly AAA quality
What do you like best about the product?
Graphic Quality, blueprints, nodes, C++ integration, unexpensive, high quality in a few time, realistic lighting, a lot of interesting tools to increase the productivity, community grow up and a market.
What do you dislike about the product?
It needs a powerful machine to work fine, it's a little inneficient, this engine is not optimizated, is just about "this looks amazing, but is because you have a powerful machine", if you want to create a mobile game is not a good option. The interface could be better. The Shaders compilation take too much time, the workflow should be if you want to do a game with low visual quality, the engine requieres a low machine requirements, not if you want to do a mobile game, you need an expensive machine.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
is one of my choices if I want to work in realtime arquitectural visualization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need a powerful machine, at lest a nvidia graphic card with 2 gigas, 12 gigas of ram memory and a core I7 processador. The engine is free but is not 'free' at all, if you publish a game you need to pay the 5% to Epic, not too much, but it´s something to considerated.
AAA game engine within a hand's reach
What do you like best about the product?
I began using Unreal, coming from a Unity background. Unreal provides a high-end quality to projects, in terms of graphics. Games made in Unreal look amazing.
Furthermore, it has a low-level barrier for beginners who might have not that much experience with programming. The Blueprints Visual Scripting system allows developers to work, without too much hassle, much drag-and-dropping nodes which connect and that represent the overall logic of the different elements in the game.

What do you dislike about the product?
Despite being a top-notch engine, Unreal tends to be overwhelming in terms of user interface and general workflow. In terms of programming, the engine supports C++; however, I found it very tricky and messy to use. In other words, Unreal is not intuitive for beginners.
Projects, even empty ones, tend to occupy a great deal of space in disk, specially if they were created as a C++ Project, instead of a Blueprint Project. This is particularly annoying when working with source control systems (e.g. git) and online solutions such as GitHub or BitBucket, which limit the maximum size of a repository to a certain amount.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Right now, the main benefit of using Unreal is its Blueprints Visual Scripting system, which allows rapid prototyping of ideas that later might be fully developed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Although not as extensive as Unity, Unreal does have plenty of resources, tutorials and communities available on the internet, which serve as a great starting point for beginners.
Great engine
What do you like best about the product?
It has a ton of features out of the box and is packed with plenty of example content; full scenes, shaders, geometry, animation, dynamics- its all there. The visual coding "Blueprint" system makes some of the more technical aspects of game dev accessible to a wider range of artists. The online docs and forums are also very nice and active. The marketplace is a great place for artists to share their work or knowledge. A lot of the assets are free or have affordable pricing..
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of different windows and systems for each task. It's a bit hard to wrap my head around at first, but I eventually got it. I guess it makes sense, but it would be nice to have a more unified workflow for the variety of different tasks. I think they're starting to address this issue by removing redundant UI and putting panels in more consistent positions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to prototype quickly, and then build upon those early ideas. It's a very flexible and visual workflow, so problems are easy to pinpoint. The built-in marketplace is great for buying assets to use in production or just to open up and learn. They also have a lot of free options to choose from. It helps ease the burden of production, especially if you're just starting out.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Utilize all of the docs/forums/tutorials that Epic Games provides. They're a great starting place and reference for later use.
