Effective data visualization tool with strong self-serve experience
What do you like best about the product?
Pros:
- Analysis types are purpose-built for product analytics (vs general data display), so it's normally twice as easy using Heap to get the right display or analysis type (eg conversion funnel, user journey) versus using another all-purpose analytics tool
- Self-serve component is very handy, and saves tons of development time/cost
- Customer support is fantastic

What do you dislike about the product?
- Some aspects of self-serve can be buggy, but it's not often I run into this
- Running large queries, especially exporting data for further anlaysis/customization can be very slow, even not load at times
- Some of the presets of display are not highly configurable (eg if you wanted to compare a more nuanced data point, like the ratio of one thing, to the ratio of another, it's not possible in a single step)

User / product analytics - determining the right course of action based on the usage of a tool, and discovery of opportunities / pain points based on user science insights

Heap is a great tool that allows you to gather insights from your Product
What do you like best about the product?
- The ability to spin up Charts quickly to understand user behavior and gather insights
- The ability to define events on the fly without needing developers help.

What do you dislike about the product?
Heap is great in many different ways but one thing that I always find that could use some work and improvement is the 'Paths' reports. They're often confusing and complicated to visualize correctly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is helping me gather insights from product usage, as well as track experiment conversion data. Both are super valuable to me on a day to day basis, and I can always spin up new reports in a matter of minutes.

What do you like best about the product?
Heap collects an enormous amount of data that you may not think to use today, but find a need to analyze tomorrow. I export data monthly and over the past few years, I've seen a steady cadence of improvements that have been released -- not just new functionality, but also improvements to the navigation and usability of the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've had some issues lately launching Heap's "visual labeling" tool -- which was excellent when I had been able to use it, but for whatever reason, it isn't working now for me. Sadly, I've little patience for any support response that requires me to dig into browser settings and check my IT department's firewall settings, so I haven't resolved this yet (because that was the advice I got).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm primarily exporting data collected regularly by AppCues for an NPS analysis, as well as generating lists of users who perform certain behaviors for our research efforts.

It is easy to create dashboards using the "point and click" method. No need for any technical skills!
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of customizability in the charts. I have one dash that has several versions of the same chart. But the colors of the data flip back and forth.

Quickly troubleshooting performance of paid marketing campaigns.
Intuitive once you get the hang of it! Helps with showing high level or granular usage metrics

Can't track complex flows that aren't views or clicks, repetitive actions when querying leads to slower flows

Heap is enabling key user insights based on internal feature usage. It benefits our team because we can see if users are enjoying our product.
The ultimate heatmap and user journey software
What do you like best about the product?
Heap has a very extensive and robust UI that enables you to dive deep into the data about how your users use your applications. The heat map and user journey features will allow you to see insights that are very hard to capture and visualize compared to other data anlytics and visualization software. Heap takes much of the hard work required to centralize and visualize the data and provides critical insights into what product decisions you should make for your upcoming sprints.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside to Heap is its steep learning curve. Enabling users to access such powerful features requires extensive education on utilizing Heap's features. I would prefer if Heap was more user-friendly from the getgo but the company has designed a whole website portal called "Heap University" that tries its best to offset these issues and provide extensive educational resources to its users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is helping our team get critical insights into what features users use and new feature releases' adoption rates. Heap helped our team make a pivotal decision to remove a feature occupying vital real estate on our menu bar, which was a very successful decision that led to better user retention.
Great tool to build credibility with clients
What do you like best about the product?
It's intuitive and easy to use. The level of detail it provides on usage is high quality. You can hop on for a 30 minute session and get all the information you need to support your upcoming calls for the week.

Every now and then, Heap goes down, which causes an issue when we are trying to share usage.

When new customers are onboarding to our product we like to help identify and promote internal champions who are using the tool for either a best practice or in a new way we'd like to partner on.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's great in analyzing large data sets and also to keep track on the user level actions. To understand where in the funnel there is a drop in Cvr and to monitor the performance
Heap makes customer behavioral analysis so easy
What do you like best about the product?
We run a lot of experiments and it's so helpful to use Heap to see how our website changes may impact customers. We saw lower conversion rates when we launched a new verison of our onboarding quiz. We used Heap to debug why this may be -- turns out page load times were longer for the new quiz! We were quickly able to push a patch to resolve this issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Heap to expand some of its built-in features, for example it is great we can get averages but I would also love median and mode. In addition, I'd like to order by certain columns or at least be able to export the raw results so I can order the data in another platform.
