Easy interface and fast results
What do you like best about the product?
It was super easy to find the custom events that I have, as well as some of the other heap tools available. It was fast to compile the data and easy to use for someone who doesn't use tools like this often.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really to call out as of yet, great tool!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Looking to track product usage to inform our roadmap and validate customer problems and use cases.
great for quick data visualization!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use filters, groupings and segments! I'm able to pinpoint which groups of users are doing what and at what rates. This is very helpful for planning tailored experiences and experiments for different users based on their user behaviour on site, or other identifying characteristics (ex device)
What do you dislike about the product?
The path function in heap could be clearer - I'd like to see how many users completed what paths, and similar to the influence touchpoints, a quick summary about which paths were most common
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seeing page specific insights and overall insights for how our site visitors are interacting with the site. Which common touchpoints are highest converting, which flows can be better leveraged etc
Heap will change the way you think about product
What do you like best about the product?
It has an easy-to-use and intuitive interface. The features are thoughtful and a lot of work has been put into making it a useful tool. Dashboards show me exactly where I am at any given time and reports helps our team make informed decisions and validate the decisions we have already made.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial onboarding was not ideal. It didn't feel very professional and it was difficult to get real value from it. Heap did pivot after we had some complaints and made good on what we paid for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now can make informed decisions about the product we are releasing based on real data. We no longer need to make guesses on what is working and what isn't.
It's a great deep dive tool for analyzing all aspects of a product
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to analyze data without having to create events
What do you dislike about the product?
Missing key data such as time spent on a page/exit rate
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User conversion, retention and path analysis

What do you dislike about the product?
account reps are slow to respond, difficult to understand who is available to help when we identify discrepancies,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
user level insights, ability to get to the bottom of complex problems that we couldnt with GA

Review for Heap
What do you like best about the product?
The clean UX, it's easy to find everything on the platform
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm used to using Google Analytics so it's hard for me to understand the 1 to 1 rules and conditions that apply from Google Analytics to Heap
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just traffic analysis and ensuring we have the correct sources and mediums aligned to analyze our traffic
Great, but has a learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
What Heap does best: Letting you dig into specific website events AND get historical data, without needing to define events upfront as you do with Google Analytics. I've also found that the educational tools (Heap University) are well done and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
You definitely have to be at least a little bit technical to use Heap to it's full capability. To roll out within a larger team, you really do need proper definition/event guidelines and approval processes. It's easy to set up definitions incorrectly depending on the HTML structure of the pages themselves across your site experience.. Thankfully Heap has permissions and some workflow set up to manage this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basic analytics and reporting for user behavior, mostly for product management and not so much for marketing etc. The benefit of being able to analyze historic activity is really great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're starting a new product, go for it. If you're switching from an existing analytics tool, definitely sit down and think about how your processes will change as a result. If you/your team are not technical enough, I'd highly recommend having someone in a data admin role who can ensure definitions are set up properly and reporting is accurate.
Really clear funnels when looking at A/B tests
What do you like best about the product?
I love looking at the results of my A/B tests in Heap. The data is visually well-structured and understandable at a glance. I also like the ability to dive in further on any given metric with the click of a button.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having learned web analytics on coremetrics, GA, and a couple of others, learning Heap was like learning a new language. But it's like anything - once you know it, you know it. Their training team was very good about catching me up on the areas I couldn't figure out on my own.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Funnel analysis, especially for A/B tests. Quick ad-hoc looks at customer movement and activity.
