Probably the easiest open source ZT access

  • March 29, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
After an easy setup, the configuration is mostly convenient with the help of their documentation, and in no time, users can enjoy a great ZT access environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The desktop access could be a bit easier to set up and manage; documentation on it is still a bit lacking too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Granting access to resources in a secure way while also reducing the password management complexity to the end user. Audit options also help in case there are issues noticed only later.

Zero Trust with a Private flair

  • March 29, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to define a ZERO Trust policy, but ALSO leveraging private networking so you don't have to expose all your systems to the raw internet is a HUGE win in today's climate. We should ALL be considering Teleport and tools like it to ensure our company and personal assets are protected.
What do you dislike about the product?
That it isn't as well advertised as it could be. More people need to know about this product and use it. I would also like to see a "one click" install setup that can help make things even smoother!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a seamless interface to combine centralized management and provisioning of your users and systems. This allows you to easily pivot from "Here user, you have an account" to "oh and you use the EXACT same setup to connect to all our systems without having to learn a dozen passwords and interfaces".

Demo and POV time went great!

What do you like best about the product?
So many things are helpful!! Ease of user management, access to resources, permissions granularity, cloud or self-hosted options, they all make it easy to deploy into your environment. I really like how automated resource discovery is, and how granular the controls are.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a steep learning curve when it comes to the permissions policy syntax. It took me a couple of back and forth conversations with engineering before I properly understood it. But once I got my head around it, it became second nature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teleport is getting us several steps closer to a zero-trust network. It's also solving server access and ssh key rotation, which has historically been an issue because who likes being the one to force developers to do something they don't like doing?

Great tool for developers and technicians

  • March 28, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up and easy to use. Teleport has excellent documentation, and I have received invaluable support from the engineering team. Our alternative to Teleport is a painful process of going through multiple jump boxes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not many video demonstrations that I have been able to find. Also, tctl command is not usable on Windows. I still have much to explore with Teleport, so I cannot address all pain points that I may have later.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teleport is making it easy to connect to all of our edge devices. The SSO in option helps increase our security as well. Previously we had to go through jump boxes with common passwords. Teleport makes it easy to securely connect!

What do you like best about the product?
seamless connection with kube clusters
role based access control
great UI
no need for bastions
What do you dislike about the product?
2fa enforcement for SSO
some resources cannot be created through kube CRs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
kube cluster access to clusters that are not publicly accessible

Teleport, straight forward VPN solution.

  • March 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Teleport was a straightforward vpn solution. No big bells and whistles and no need for extensive engagement to stand up either.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had special needs for our Devs that sadly teleport was unable have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure access to our infrastructure.

Great way to handle permissions on teams

  • March 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Teleport for our company provides an easy and intuitive way for our developers to access protected resources. They provide great documentation and intuitive interfaces that make onboarding a breeze. Also, they have SSO for google. I wish I found out about Teleport sooner! I plan on using Teleport for the foreseeable future!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there is downtime, but that's expected with any service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us create RBAC (role based access control) to sensitive resources and gives us things like SSO for internal web apps and SSH RBAC.

I had a great time learning more about Teleport and networking with various people across industries

  • March 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's in all-in-one solution for security. It seems like it could displace other vendors in place and would help me consolidate my security stack into one solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing yet! So far, everything has made sense.I guess I do find it a bit confusing right now, so I'd love to get more training and educational resources to further understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple security vendors requiring many contracts, training, and solutions. Having several solutions makes it difficult to streamline everything and manage the accounts.

Forget about VPN use Teleport to access your computing infrastructure

  • March 28, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use Teleport to access servers and computing infrastructure via SSH, Kubernetes Clusters and cloud applications via a built-in proxy while meeting our organization's compliance requirements.
It logs and records all session activity for auditing purpose.
It also supports multiple protocols such as SSH, RDP, MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.
Using teleport access plane we can access the computing instances from anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many other similar products are available in the market, providing better support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teleport has replaced our need for VPN.
Using teleport we were able to consolidate all aspects of infrastructure access into one single platform.
Conslidation of infrastructure access has reduced our operational overhead, it is has improved our engineers productivity while meeting organizantion's compliance demands.

Teleport is an easy way to control and audit server access

  • March 28, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use teleport to control and monitor access to our fleet of servers. It was extremely easy to set up and instantly gave us fine grained control over who could access various servers in the fleet, as well as an audit trail of who logged in and what was run, which we needed for soc2 compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
When using the GitHub connector, I've found that users in the UI aren't always synced, which results in teleport only showing a subset of users (I assume those who have logged in recently). It's not a huge issue but can be confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teleport allows us to give systems administrators and developers access to our infrastructure without complex account creation processes. It also makes it easy to track who has access to which systems, and when they were accessed which we required for SOC2 certification.
