Beautiful and Powerful

  • January 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Once configured, the dashboards are pleasant to look at and nearly infinitely customizable to any need. Since it is an open source project, there are means to integrate with a large number of data collection systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool takes a good bit of time to get set up and usable. It is not a project for someone looking for a quick solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a quick visual dashboard showing status and usage of our critical systems both on premises and in the cloud. We see system trouble in seconds now rather than finding out when users experience a problem. This allows us to respond to issues before they impact the organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need visualizers and don't mind a bit of configuration time on a Linux server, this is a fantastic tool.

The best opensource dashboards in the world

  • January 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to use the various datasources as a backend (prometheus, graphite, even elasticsearch), the ability to automate the deployment of Grafana itself (even the dashboards provisioning, which is great).
Documentation is very well, and especially, I love the kiosk mode.
Template variables are the best!
What do you dislike about the product?
Alerting. It's really pitiful, because the alerting ability is very limited. You can't do math on it and you can't select popular business-messengers or alermanager.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to have a quick overview of the project health itself, also we the ability to have the screens in the office, which are 24x7 playing the Grafana playlists
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need to spend some time initially to understand which metrics and in which ways you want to show, because it's very easy to make bad dashboards, but quite complex to make them really useful

What do you dislike about the product?
Some time take time to update, maybe because we are on test.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring process and infrastructure

Best frontend for monitoring

  • July 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, simplicity, initial configuration and user experience
What do you dislike about the product?
It could support out of the box with some new datasources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Grafana we can view from a single point all our infraestructure status, service time, alerting, all in one.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with telegraf, grafana and influxdb, next prepare some scripts

The best vumisulaisation tool for time series data base.

  • July 21, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It works like a charm with the data sources it can be configured with. I worked with influxdb as a data source and set up was very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Once we have a lot of information on a single page it's difficult to load page. I have to split up my dashboard to get the performance up..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We automated monitoring of our production infrastructure. Earlier after each deployment we needed to monitor the platform manually.

Grafana - very strong latency visualization tool

  • July 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is a very strong latency visualization tool that can show precise color-coded granularity (in our case, micro-second resolution) using internal data as the data source.. Types of files used include:
latency logs
error logs
What do you dislike about the product?
Page loading can take a while (especially for large queries), but the timer at the top is helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our software is latency sensitive, so Grafana provides an excellent tool that displays latency over a specific time interval in vivid colors and with the granular resolution needed to investigate aberrations such as spikes and peak performance. Has the ability to display data using various filters: by time , by field etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The Dashboard provides an elegant array of graphs and provides an easy way of organizing historical reports. It also offers a nice display of filtered essential data. For example, the zoom and hide/show features allows for pinpoint and uncluttered viewing that quickly displays the data in user-friendly formats, which is essential for detailed investigations. Overall, a very handy utility. Highly recommended.

Lovely little tool to check how your queues and servers are doing

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how the graphs look and how you can deep dive to find the exact date and time something went wrong. The newest update made it easier for users to know when something is wrong as you can set a threshold and if for some reason your queues exceed that threshold then it starts blinking red with a broken heart emoji :D
What do you dislike about the product?
It is mostly for nerds to understand, like me. A regular non-techy person would be really lost when looking at this even if you explain it to them, they just get scared by the looks of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With this, I can identify if a region/queue is being affected and then notify the team and our users. It also let's use identify some of the accounts that might be causing this
Recommendations to others considering the product:
make it look a bit more simplistic to stop scaring non-nerd users :D

Long time user

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to easily create dashboards for monitoring various services.
A large variety of graph types.
Ability to create templates and variables.
Very responsive, nice and friendly UI.
Ability to easily search for other dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of logarithmic scale when overlapping different graphs.
No ability to use multiple sources which would overlap in the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We keep all of our monitoring dashboards in Graf analysis. It helped a lot to investigate various performance related issues by easily correlating metrics
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best tool for monitoring.
