Amplitude is a great tracking tool for tech companies
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to collaborate and share data collected or tracked through Amplitude.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having just joined my company recently and discovering Amplitude I found that the user interface isn't too friendly and as a result, I struggled to understand how it worked at the beginning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude is helping me actively and easily track UTMs and site traffic which I use to tailor and adapt my marketing strategies.

The upside for Amplitude is that it is pretty easy to use and people easily create their own graphs

I find it hard to filter users by certain criterias

Showing business goals and KPIs in graphs, help determine product decisions

Amplitude was a tool that we as an organization were able to fully rally around. We appreciate having a shared and accessible data dictionary in the form of Govern, and the UI is fairly
easy to use or learn, so several teams can self-service insights without having to rely on the Data team's support. We also find the different segmentation / funnel / conversion / pathfinder analyses available out of the box very helpful.

What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude is quite the expensive tool, and each new event and property requires front-end engineering support to implement, which can be a costly upfront and ongoing investment of time and money. We have also found that it's difficult to customize certain things - for instance, Amplitude has its own definition of 'new' users, and the table below each chart doesn't give you the % of the total (only the average or the gross number itself) which is quite frustrating. It would also be nicer to have more flexible ways to co-create/edit dashboards.

Amplitude Analytics helps us to understand which events are the true drivers of meaningful engagement, retention and conversion.

What do you like best about the product?
It's crazy how timely Amplitude is with its tools, resources and shares. Just when things are happening on the market, it seems like I have valuable content, not a sales-pitch-heavy email waiting for me. I loved the recent digital analytics buyer’s guide! Invaluable!

What do you dislike about the product?
As a recruiter, I would like to see more content that's directed toward recruiting professionals in the field. Stats on how hot or not the talent market is would be wonderful, as would insights into what people are looking for in the next companies and how to rise above competition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What’s working, what’s not, and where organizations should go next. To bring forward important topics that are relevant and meaningful to companies and to do that for free, as a service, is very valuable to companies wanting to be top talent catchers and customer catchers.

There is a significant learning curve for onboarding new users to some advance features on the platform

Insightful, Impactful, Easy to Follow If Someone Has Already Created Events
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is very easy to use for non-analytics professionals. For instance, if creating a standard set of dashboards, I expect anyone would be able to duplicate them, modify or change something -- like customer -- and easily change the filter or display (date, etc).
What do you dislike about the product?
Unless someone has created an event, it is not super clear -- for instance, even our engineers can take a sync event (which is great that we can bucket by time, by user, etc), but havr a hard time determining if it is an upload sync or a download sync event .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude helps us expose analytics concerning usage, account health, user experience, and device information. It makes it easy to see what kind of device and what operating system is being used, as well as helps us track which users might be running into issues, and then helps us diagnose why -- for instance, seeing that a device OS is old/not updated -- giving us insight before a customer gets to the point where they might have a problem. "Hey, I noticed you guys are still running X, we want to make sure you know to upgrade to Y."
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I definitely think this one one of those applications that help expand your current tool-set. Take some time to go through it as a group as opposed to letting people stab around in thei aimlessly; if you have some super-stars, have them standardize your dashboard set; make use of dashboards and pages to keep things organized.
