Great tool for creating your own dashboards without the help of BI teams!

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy to use the product is. Everything is clear and pretty self-explanatory. I was able to create a dashboard in minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the fact the dashboards automatically save after every change. I would have preferred the original would stay saved, and only if I choose to could I override it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am creating my own dashboards without the use of external resources and teams. It makes it easier to run campaigns quickly and measure quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Connect to an external data source and don't rely only on the built-in data points.

Amplitude is easy to use data tracking platform.

What do you like best about the product?
I can quickly generate charts and share the links with my teammates. n "Active Engaged User" chart which is a critical KPI for our app; we use this chart on the Content, Marketing, Growth team's main dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
The data source is only mobile-based. I can't add my data from my SQL base. Also as I am a Jr, sometimes the UI is hard to understand all features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynamic dashboards are handy. I can add charts with an + icon and customize them for different seasons' needs. Also, you can use any chart on every dashboard. For example, we made an "Active Engaged User" chart which is a critical KPI for our app; we use this chart on the Content, Marketing, Growth team's main dashboards.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
UI is sometimes so complicated. If there is an info button for features, it will be helpful for Juniors like me :) Amplitude has great documentation for its features, but it does not easy to find them; maybe a "?" icon will simplify accessing them. Tagging special events is also complicated. If there will be a calendar feature and label the day and events, it will be amazing. We generate different content for engaged our users and could not see it easily on dashboards. Besides, I prefer adding headings on my dashboards different sections like "bla bla bla features reports" "user reports" etc. We are using main dashboards for every team, which are opened every day on their one browser tab and are checked regularly; it is complicated to find the correct section mentioned at the meetings. I mean, I want to make dashboard UI like Google Colab or Jupyter Notebook.

Easy to learn, clearly the best tool to better understand the brakes in use

  • May 14, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Nice and simple interface
- Funnel monitoring
- Advanced segmentations
- Many charts available even for free
What do you dislike about the product?
- Necessarily requires an event management tool because the one available in the free version is not sufficient
- It is often difficult on the charts to see the releases although the option is checked
- Cannot use the cohort tool with the free plan
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Understanding of problems related to use on all user journeys
- Ability to understand what users do when they do not achieve the goal
- Ability to extract users in the bit to identify them and conduct one-to-one interviews
- It is easy to plug Amplitude into other solutions such as Tableau or Branch

Intuitive user interface

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I barely needed to read the documentation. Their buttons were intuitive—the ones for creating new charts and workspaces were just there. Pivoting the graphs on various axes was easy too. It was quick to create my first workspace.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard for my teammates to find the charts unless they pin it. I wish I could design how their entire workspace looked like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seeing user retention and usage data.

Great Free Tier

  • May 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- free tier gives you unlimited data history
- as easy to use as any other product analtytics tools out there
What do you dislike about the product?
- a little slow to load and navigate
- sometimes the chart ui gets buggy and you need to refresh the page
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
as an early stage startup, this helps us with many problems:
- understanding feature adoption
- analyzing onboarding funnels and identifying targets for improvement
- segmenting users and viewing their behavior
Recommendations to others considering the product:
super useful for mobile app product analytics. This is hooked into all of our apps and honestly we would have lots of problems without it.

also the free tier restriction here of not being able to create dynamic cohorts is kind of annoying, but can be mostly worked around with the right identify calls

however, not great for web analytics. we did hook this up to our marketing website too, and there are better tools out there for web analytics

Great tool but nothing can be done for historical data!

  • May 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to query the events without going to the product database again and again.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to have historical data get the timestamps we want to give them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Static and behavioral cohorts. Benefits - got new insights

Amplitud free product is useful, but it makes me feel dumb sometimes

  • May 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of creating charts tailored to what I want to analyze. Also, seeing the difference in conversion and activation rates based on the user action is key for understanding behaviors better.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not too fond of the lack of assistance for setting up my product events in the free version. I have spent way too much time figuring out the best way of tracking, time that I should be spending analyzing and finding insights in my metrics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm striving to understand what features drive conversion, which ones make users come back, what features are dormant, and what specific actions I can do to improve the user flow and user interaction in my product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would advise others to keep in mind that your data power Amplitude; if your data (Events) doesn't have a structured architecture is very difficult to have helpful insights. Unless your company has the means for accessing Premium plans, I would highly recommend reading all data tracking documentation.

Great product analytics tool, but not for marketing

  • May 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A very handy tool for creating dashboards with generic and custom product metrics.

In-depth analysis settings allow you to quickly identify bottlenecks in the product, identify anomalies and draw conclusions.

User data from different devices are perfectly combined, making Amplitude an almost ideal tool for cross-platform products.
What do you dislike about the product?
The spreadsheet tool is still very weak. It is almost impossible to work with tabular data. If you are used to analyzing numbers in large tables, this tool is not for you.

Attribution data is lost for 20-30% of users (and that was even before the iOS 14 user tracking changes). Also, the attribution data is overwritten when the user data is merged, so you lose the first touch attribution.

The raw data cannot be exported, so you cannot create beautiful and dynamically updated tables using alternative tools and services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Daily, a weekly and monthly analysis of product status by key indicators using individually configured dashboards, in-depth analysis of user behavior in various sections to find out the causes of anomalies.

The best tool for track users

  • May 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Capacity to add events with data and later filter through those data, a wonderful guide to integrate into your app and has a very good sharing dashboards systems
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the info is receive duplicated and sometimes is no very intuitive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Know where the user drop out on the principal funnel of the app, how users from different platforms convert and what are the products the client interact more with
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the free version, has plenty of events monthly to see is what you looking for

I love the speed and flexibility in doing new charts & graphs

  • May 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to create different formats of graphs quickly and easily. Setting up dashboards are great and super handy.

I am new to the tech industry and amplitude has enabled me to provide real value to the company, and ultimately also to our patients!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to compare graphs side by side with different filters attached, but it not update them accross dashboards. This would be great for diving into why something has changed in a KPI we are monitoring. For example today I wanted to see why a CTR had increased after a certain day, so I kept filtering for users who performed X or Y. It would have been easier to compare if I could view the graphs simultaneously or overlapped.

The dashboards can be awkward to arrange, the drag and drop can be a bit difficult.

The most frustrating thing is that it's hard to remove or clear out old graphs. You can't delete graphs made by other teammates, and they just disappear into the history never to be used or found. They the search functions get cumbersome, especially when some people don't name well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have noticed where drop off is happening enabling us to address it, been able to view our growth and compare to targets, seen how changes we make to the website or product affect our performance so we know if they work
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amplitude is a powerful and flexible tool that lets you present data in a valuable way from the simplest cases to much more difficult problems
