Great tool for front end analytics

  • November 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude makes it very easy to create reports and visualizations. The drag and drop interface is very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lack of flexibility for more detailed use cases. Having SQL access to query the data would help with these.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude is making it easier to share data and insights with the rest of the team. We are now making more informed decisions.

Amplitude is easy and comprehensive way to add analytics to your user journey through a product

  • November 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In like the ability to segment by many different user / device characteristics
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were ways to natively add events instead of going through third parties like segment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
insights into success of product launches/ isolating drop off points in user journey

Easy to navigate and build proper charts, but some UI pieces feel inconsistent.

  • November 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Defining cohorts and slicing through data that way
Easy to configure and interact with even for inexperienced data people
Slick UI overall
Easy to use query language to define data visualizations
What do you dislike about the product?
Some UI pieces feel intrusive and out of the overall experience (chatbot, user survey recruitment, onboarding flows) - as well as inconsistent with the actual design language of the product.
Charts are not interactive when it comes to keyboard users.
Dynamic user properties like Language and OS should be event properties as they constantly change - data cannot be trusted from my perspective when querying that way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding my users and their interactions with the application we are developing
Getting down to informed decisions when trying to tackle the next thing or improving our experience

Amplitude is a great tool for Product Analytics

  • November 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude has been great for enabling self-service at our organization with respect to Product Analytics. It's easy to use and offers a lot of interesting insights out of the box!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would recommend changing the pricing structures—a lot of great features are hidden behind pricing walls and I would appreciate if they made those available as part of their core product instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude has helped us reduce the time to insights from when a new product feature is launched at our company.

Great analytics for product management!

What do you like best about the product?
I love the pathfinder feature, this allows us to understand how our users navigate through our platform and helps us to create more engaging experiences for our users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The creation of some dashboards can be a bit complex, especially if the name of "events" are difficult to identify or find. It would be great to have a guided process that walks you through each step in the process for PMs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude helps us solve many different problems, but the one that helps the most is end-user engagement. We are able to see where our users drop off, or whether they are using new features so we can iterate quickly.

Enormous potential but is often difficult to realise as a customer

  • November 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When amplitude works well, it works really well but realising its impact is not often the easiest thing to achieve. Notebooks are one of my favourite features and work extremely well for digging into an issue/ analysing the success of a release/ feature while being able to add annotations which give colleagues context as to what was going on i.e. why the project was launched/ what the goal was.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboards are efficient when the viewer has all the context as to what the goal of the dash is/ what the KPI target is/ what it was a month ago/ what a normal vs worrying range is - not being able to add notes to dashboards detracts from their impact in my opinion.

User journeys/ paths have enormous potential as features but don't work at all for us as thousands of inconsequential events are tracked in the backend, meaning it's challenging to track where a user actually went to next. I suspect that we are tracking to many events but there should be a notion of mapping the core events in a flow/ deleting meaningless events for the sake of analysis to allow us to use this feature more efficiently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before amplitude, our analytics were a black hole. We could get high level figures from our database (i.e. how much card volume did we process today) but no level of granularity when it came to tracking user behaviour in the app (i.e. how many users who saw this campaign/ email transacted with us on the same day?)

Amplitude is THE tool for product analytics

  • November 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dashboards are easy to build, use, and understand. Amplitude also offers a range of dashboards that help you understand 99% of relevant user behaviors. The web tool is fast with rare glitches.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't easy to do joins on data. Some of the pricing aspects and quotas are not that simple to understand and negotiate initially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude provides insights into how your users use the product, how well you retain them, which features are successful, and much other information. The insights you get paint a clear picture of what parts of your business are the most promising and where you have room for improvement.

It's a good tool for data visualisation

  • November 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part is real-time data and various selections for charts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is the accuracy. We have observed changes in historical conversion rates in the dashboards for no reason. The front-end data is not consistent with the back-end data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conversion funnel, retention rate, some user segmentation analysis

An integral part of understanding what our users doing

What do you like best about the product?
A powerful tool to learn about your customers' actual behavior and drive business decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data can get messy, and requires discipline for different teams to use well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping discover user behaviors and validate new features.

Amplitude delivers precisely what they promise.

  • November 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude helps us clearly track how our customers use and interact with our products and view that data clearly and meaningfully. I have also noticed that generating reports is faster and easier than some of the previous products I've used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude, along with most data solutions, is only as valuable as the data you put in. It is a complex solution to a complex problem meaning there is a learning curve. If your organization does not take the time to plan out the architecture and taxonomy, it will most certainly come back to bite you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We must understand how our users interact with our products and where they encounter blockers or deviate from our expected usage. Amplitude allows us to track user behavior and even monitor specific cohorts to validate our assumptions.
