I don't think it lacks anything. It's great for every use case

Using it as reverse proxy, stickiness and for load balancing the traffic
Reliable Performance with Minimal Latency
What do you like best about the product?
We see some latency while using HAPrxy, but so far it is good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only latency is the issue we are facing while using it.

Flawless Load Balancing for a Decade
What do you like best about the product?
We have never in 10 years had any issue with HAPROXY. We use it to load balance our tom cats and occasionally lose a tomcat server but it is transparent to the user as they never see it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing it has always performed great. Never has the issue been with ha proxy, always the app server or db.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It shields end users when we lose a tomcat

I like that HAProxy is insanely reliable and fast - it just works.

The config can get complex and unforgiving.

Ease of use. It just works. Lightweight and relaible.

Nothing. It has consistently solved porblems for me for years

We use it primarily as a reverse proxy. We built a custom container appliance that we deploy as needed.

AWS ALB doens't provide support for static IP's and I had used HAProxy behind NLB which provides static IP's in some solutions in the past.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about HAProxy is its reliability and performance. It efficiently balances traffic across multiple servers, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime. Its flexibility with advanced configuration options, robust security features, and strong community support make it an excellent choice for both small and large-scale deployments.
What do you dislike about the product?
One aspect I dislike about HAProxy is the complexity of its configuration for advanced setups. While it is extremely powerful, managing multiple frontends, backends, and ACL rules can become cumbersome, especially for larger environments. Additionally, debugging misconfigurations requires careful attention to logs and can be time-consuming.

HAProxy is addressing the challenge of efficiently distributing incoming network traffic across multiple backend servers, ensuring high availability and reliability for our applications. By acting as a load balancer, it prevents any single server from becoming overwhelmed, reducing downtime and improving performance. Additionally, HAProxy provides features like health checks and failover, which help maintain seamless service during server issues. This benefits us by improving user experience, enhancing scalability, and simplifying traffic management in our infrastructure.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate HAProxy for its robust reverse proxy capabilities, which greatly enhance the protection of my applications, especially the ones that do not natively support TLS. The ability to encrypt data between the application and the end user is a critical feature that ensures my data's security. I find the community support incredibly helpful; whenever I have questions, there is always someone to assist me, highlighting the strong community backing HAProxy enjoys. The initial setup of HAProxy was super easy, making the transition from previous tools hassle-free. This simplicity in setup and operation has made it an excellent choice for my home lab projects. Additionally, my trust in HAProxy increased significantly, particularly after Nginx was sold, positioning HAProxy as a more reliable choice for my needs.
