HaProxy a great tools for many applications
What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of HAproxy and the wide ability to apply across on-prem, OpenShift and the cloud
What do you dislike about the product?
Editing the configuration file but that can easily be worked around with API calls or the GUI addon
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application load balancing across on an HA scale allowing us to migrate away from IIS sites

Easy to install and use. Hassle free and easy to include addons

None that I'm aware of. It does compete with nginx which might make it unknown to a lot of users

We need a robust and fast reverse proxy and HAProxy is the perfect fit

What do you like best about the product?
After a decade of using HAProxy in various environments, I can confidently say it’s one of the most reliable and powerful load balancers available. Over the years, it’s consistently provided high performance, flexibility, and resilience, even as our infrastructure scaled and evolved.
What do you dislike about the product?
We did have issues in autoscaling scenarios, but fixable with some scripting

It solves our security issues with their WAF - super important to our archetecture
Universal proxy with a wide variety of applications
What do you like best about the product?
HAproxy is a mature product that does its job and does it well. It suppports primarily TCP that makes it work with different TCP services.
What do you dislike about the product?
To build an HA proxy setup without it being a single point of failure you need to rely on VRRP that is not available in cloud environments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Route MySql traffic.

I like the easy of use. Would absolutely recommend it.

Compared to competitors it could be hard to learn.

Easy to stand up and deploy for load balancing and proxying traffic.

Limited waf capabilities meant we needed to find a more robust solution to do waf, lb, and proxy.
