A great product tool for commercial/residential properties

  • December 12, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Matterport allows the user to feel like they're standing inside the space you're showing them. It takes 2D renders and photographs to an all new 3D level while giving tours and control to the user.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit pricey for startup companies, but is also a new and growing technology, so it's likely to come down in price as the market drives demand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a marketing director for a vacation rental company, we now use matterport to showcase all of our homes so that our guests know exactly what room they want to sleep in before they arrive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Worth every penny!

Solid Online Experience

  • December 12, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The solution is easy for end users to master. The online training on using the camera, setting up the camera-based wifi network, and uploading the finished models was excellent. I'm very tech oriented and so this made it a breeze for me. I've worked with other, less technical team members who also found the online training to be adequate.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have three different people using the camera at our real estate company. The admin has set up sub accounts which works. However, as a non-admin, if I need to see one of the other photographer's projects I have to go through the admin and even then it is not easy. Our admin says sharing viewing rights between sub accounts is not available. Adding this would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are selling properties to out-of-state investors. Having a Matterport model to showcase the renovations we've done is extremely helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to step ahead of the competition, consider using Matterport for all of your properties. Matterport isn't just for luxury homes.

Excellent Technology - Just a bit expensive

  • December 01, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is the future of real estate. These virtual tours are the gold standard when advertising properties online. Being able to walk thru a property, in a virtual walk thru setting is how we will be viewing homes in the future. Your client can also just put on a VR headset and virtually walk thru any property without ever having to go to the property.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price of the equipment and storage is expensive. They are cheaper, less elegant solutions in the market or on the horizon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving customers a 3D walkthrough of your property for sale. Saving time and marketing your property with first class content. Also, you are able to highlight areas of the property.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you do market a lot of properties as a real estate agent, this is the gold standard of virtual tours. The only concern is cost and future competing products that will cost much less.

Matterport Review

  • November 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I think that what I like the most about Matterport is how user friendly it is to use to get the results that are desired. This allows a realism to the project that otherwise would require pretty significant resources to execute.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing specific at this time that I would say that I dislike about the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has been key especially in the case of any renovation work that has been done so that the existing conditions vs. the proposed new design can be evaluated.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure that there is a strong plan to implement as well as a strong business case so that you can get the proper ROI for the project and your company.

This is a great software for buyers .. but for customers, they have to buy or spend money for matterport camera which could be little expensive for newbies

Matterport Facilitates Real Estate Touring

  • August 20, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very few people will sign a lease on an apartment without viewing the space in-person. A major pain-point in real estate sales and apartment searching is sacrificing time to travel to a site for a viewing. The ability to tour virtually is extremely valuable. Realistic virtual renderings of an apartment eliminate travel costs and scheduling conflicts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Matterport sometimes distorts reality. This may be due to operator error, but we often see images that are stretched. This causes problems when a room appears much larger in the rendering. Also, we often have to conduct virtual tours using screen-share software. Simultaneous use of Matterport and screen-sharing apps consumes a great deal of bandwidth and causes lags, choppy images, and pixelation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matterport resolves scheduling conflicts and eliminates travel costs. It also sets us apart from other real estate companies with the wow-factor of the beautiful images and cool tech.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
- Eliminate image distortion/stretching
- Reduce required bandwidth (if possible)

    Furniture

The best, full-featured interior service

  • April 01, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We’ve been using Matterport for about two years. The service, the camera,, the iPad app, everything works seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Slow to release features. Google Street View implementation was six months behind schedule. They’re starting to nickel and dime the userbase with features that used to be free. An .obj file used to be free to download, now it costs $50. Shameful tactics actually. Also, they tried to change the TOS and upset a very large portion of the userbase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Interior planning, marketing of proudct
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be extremely weary of them changing their TOS.
