As a software developer: It's not the best experience.

What do you like best about the product?
It's very helpful to have all tools relating to developing software all in one place such as front end, back end, database, debugging, development tools, testing, scrum tools, etc. This helps keep everything organized and cohesive which is crucial in software development.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are several downsides to Pega from a developer standpoint. In every Pega application I have worked on, because it's a webapp, it can be so slow that productivity takes a huge hit. Granted, this could have been caused by a lack of server or db resources, or slow internet, but the fact that every application I've worked on spanning multiple organizations and servers have been slow, is a problem that needs to be fixed. Developer's work quick if they have the tools and the resources necessary but if the tools and resources are running very slow, it can negatively effect productivity.

There are many other "quality of life" changes that I would like to see such as a much better rule search engine, lots of little frustrating bugs that need fixing. But my biggest complaint of all is the documentation.

Pega NEEDS to invest major time and resources on improving their documentation for developers from the high level all the way down to the lowest level they are comfortable with. Developers will not spend time learning a platform with such terrible documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building CSR software for insurance. A benefit is fast development speed compared to other technologies. Getting a working product is fast in Pega.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure that the product you are trying to build is the right fit for a platform like Pega. Pega is not the best choice for every type of application and service. It is best for workflow and BPM applications.

Overall good product

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to easily manipulate data and display them in reports
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to customize the skin more and lack of functions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making workflow more streamlined and automated. Issues include difficulty learning how to implement Pega. Pega courses do not prepare you for real world development. Lack of UI courses on Pega academy is also an issue. Lack of functions have resulted in developers having to create their own java functions. UI rules are inflexible sometimes which can be mitigated to some extent by customizing the application skin rule, but at time the skin rule does not allow for enough customization. Would like to see the ability to add CSS code to skin rules more easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In order to learn pega spend time building sample applications

What do you like best about the product?
the in built debugging tools - enable you to be self dependant and not rely on any external tools for debugging
What do you dislike about the product?
some features which were present in the older versions are obsolete, though they were good. We should enable a way to retain the features from older versions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API connect, business process modelling , UI experience , Integration, case and subcase creation
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please go for it, it is an amazing tool and offers the best in market value amongst all the BPM tools that we have

What do you like best about the product?
The robotics behind pega do make our agents jobs much easier and user friendly, however the software is slow, so it makes it seem like it's taking longer to complete tasks that were somewhat faster before.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is quite a bit of lag time on the front end, and I understand that it's doing a lot in the background, however in this day if something doesn't happen instantly it feels slow. We also use the knowledge library side, and currently you have to tag it, but it won't allow you to really search multiple words at one time, which is frustrating. So you have to tag specific words in hopes that people will search for the right word.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pega is overlayed on an outdated system that it takes our CS agents weeks to learn. The benefits include: shorter training time, since the process is much more intuitive than an antiquated system that users have not interacted with in their lifetime.

It is also more secure than older platforms and can make it impossible to move forward without proper authentication, which is helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your servers can handle the software or there will be latency which can affect the adoption rate. If it's faster to do the older process, people may continue to do that if its perceived to take less time, even if there is more steps involved with the process. Also, make sure there is good documentation for the processes and set realistic expectations.

What do you like best about the product?
Best is their pictorial representation of a business process which is AKA Case Management. Easy to use and Business Analysts can build prototypes very easily. Shorted development cycles and faster to the market. Doesn't need much of a development effort to build
What do you dislike about the product?
Pega's UI should be more presentable. Right now they have limited number of controls.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Pega platform we are able to capture more market in the telecommunication industry. Pega Decision helped in not missing any opportunities that are available and understand the customer needs.

Fast to production - Customer driven - Ease of Business Platform

What do you like best about the product?
PEGA changes the way you do business. Their low code environment allows you to personalize your experience you have while working but completely changes how you can engage with your customers. The system is very easy to understand and opens up many new opportunities for how you can handle your business, regardless of your industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
No application is perfect but my dislike isn't because of the applications capabilities but my desire for more. Once you are exposed to PEGA you will want more, you want to learn more, hear about more, see more, and have the newest parts of PEGA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More transparent case handling - unified processes across business areas - in depth reporting capabilities - unified case flows - intuitive questioning within a case - open connection directly with customer's and business partners

What do you like best about the product?
I have learned Pega when it was in V4.2 (SP6). And now I am working on Pega 7.x and 8.x. This journey has been phenomenal. A lot of things I have learnt in the past 12-13 years.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way Pega deals with the Date Time functionalities. A lot of things are limited or restricted. Explicit Java Functions are to be used for more flexibilities. It would be nice to have some OOTB Functionalities
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An end-to-end account opening process in Scotiabank used to take 2-3 hours. Now it is done in minutes. That speaks all.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended
