Great product but inflexible and expensive for small business

  • June 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The format is easy to understand. Folders inside of folders. I wish Google workspace functioned in the same way. It also handles everything. Doc, PDF, everything. Often pdf have problems but not in the box. It is also kind of expe.sive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive and you can not have just one account for business. A minimum of 3 accounts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
File storage

Convenience and ease of use of Dropbox

  • June 12, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
When I need to save a document, it is always so easy to save it to dropbox. After saving it to dropbox it is very simple to actually find the file I saved. Even when I'm not at home, I can open up my Dropbox app and get the documents that I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I have a document that I might need to edit, sometimes I find it very difficult to just add text. It seems to offer me a text box instead of just adding text to the document, like a word file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having documents that I can find easily instead of having to search through other files.

Flexible and Well-Integrated

What do you like best about the product?
Files are easily sync'd across my myriad of devices across different operating systems, seamlessly. Being able to specify which files should remain cloud-only so I can save on local storage is such a helpful feature. Even if you don't download their apps, being able to use it effectively in browser is also very helpful. The best part of Dropbox has that I've been using it for years, and it's been reliable and their support has been very helpful when needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were some bugs in older versions of their desktop applications, but those have been worked out. Sometimes a large file will take a large time to sync to the cloud and across devices, but that's not a Dropbox-specific issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
File accessibility across platforms, devices, and seamless cloud redundancy.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to pin to your computer so it feels like a normal forlder. Easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It competes with my icloud storage so I would prefer to only have one icloud storage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not losing dcoumentation.

Dropbox is My Daily Go-to Program

  • June 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have other cloud accounts, but I find Dropbox the easiest to use. It is fairly reliable, and I like this signature feature that is new, although it looks like that will soon require an extra charge.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes have trouble setting out a set of behaviors for different devices. It has become more and more difficult to share with people outisde the system, because there are all sorts of constraints on the free accounts. I don't mind paying for my account, but the program was much better when free accounts were more prevalent. Also, one should be able to share large folders with others, even if they happen to have a free Dropbox account registered to that email address and sharing takes them over their limit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our need to edit client content from separate locations.

What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
It sometimes seems to not be very up to date with AI development or unique digital features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps be access past files without having to email or call an organization

Easy and Dependable

  • June 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Years ago, it was the only and best solution to have the files on your computer but also have the bulk of memory stored in the cloud - not taking up space on your hard drive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The browser interface could be better and sometimes the "cloud" files still take up hard drive space so you have to do a selective sync.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving space on hard drive and allows me to access my files from anywhere on any device without worrying about new devices, switching devices, or being away from a device.

Easy going but expensive

What do you like best about the product?
DB improved a lot in the next few years and it has the best quality for a backup service: you don't notice it. The confusions to save local files separate on a Mac are now fixed and the experience is smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox is too expensive. Often I am forced to consider quitting because the increases in the price became out of my budget. Unfortunately, I may have to quit at some point
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a local backup, but DB has all my wiles separately, so when I have to change computers, for example, its much easier.

Superb tool, but a bit expensive

  • June 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is very straightforward. I can choose where my Dropbox folder will be (on my computer) and I can access my files offline easily (as opposite to other Cloud services). The file version history tool is VERY useful and has already saved me a few times. Implementation is quite easy and sync works perfectly across devices, as well as file sharing for collaboration. It´s easy to integrate to other apps. Dropbox is my choice for everyday cloud backup. It´s very reliable, so I never had to ask custommer support for help.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the plans a bit expensive and I wish I could be able to sign up for a more modest plan (I don´t really need 2Gb of cloud storage).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox allows me to easily backup important data and keep a history of work files, as well as to share content with my collaborators.

A helpful partner for photos and documents

  • June 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simply, the best thing about Dropbox is as a shared space with offline storage that I can access from multiple devices. I'm glad of the automatic backups (no thinking or remembering required) in place for camera photos and for receipts.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to share storage allowance between accounts but I think the Family option is not economical for just a couple (sharing a small business and home documents).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure site for consulting with a family business and signing off on documents.
