I see Dropbox as a virtual place where all my data is safe and handy.

Simple and practical

  • December 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Dropbox is how practical and easy it is to use. The interface is very intuitive, and everything feels well organized, which makes managing and sharing files simple and stress-free. Overall, the user experience is smooth and pleasant, even for everyday use.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Dropbox is mostly related to a few practical limitations. The free plan has a rather small amount of storage compared to some other services, which can fill up quickly if you work with many or large files. Even with the student plan, I think a student plan with around 20 GB of storage would better support academic needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox has been with me since I started university, and I’m very grateful for the storage service it provides. Knowing that my PDFs and study materials are always safe and easily accessible has been really helpful throughout my academic journey.

I love Dropbox for its much better capacity for storage compared to Google Workspace, which solves my issue of not being able to store videos elsewhere. I really appreciate the ease of sharing video file links with others, and its ease of use and intuitive setup make it simple to navigate— I don't have to second guess where things are or search for them. The initial setup was pretty easy and took just a few minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
A way to create folders can be a bigger icon or easier to find.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox for video storage and sharing links. It provides better storage capacity than Google Workspace, making it easier to store videos and share links. Its intuitive setup means I don't have to search for things.

Effortless File Sharing and Seamless Collaboration

  • December 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
At work, I use Dropbox mainly for collaboration, document management, and secure file sharing across teams.

It’s especially useful for storing project files in a centralized location so everyone can access the latest version without emailing attachments back and forth. Real-time syncing helps ensure team members are always working on up-to-date documents, reducing version conflicts and rework.

We use shared folders to collaborate with internal teams and external partners, with permission controls to manage access based on roles. Dropbox’s version history is valuable for tracking changes, rolling back edits, and maintaining accountability on important files.

It also supports productivity by integrating with tools like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, allowing us to preview, comment, and edit files efficiently. Overall, it helps streamline workflows, improve collaboration, and keep project data organized and secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
In a workplace setting, the main drawbacks show up as our usage scales and collaboration becomes more complex.

As multiple teams work on shared folders, storage limits and costs become a concern—projects with large media files, backups, or long retention periods quickly consume space, forcing upgrades. This makes cost management harder, especially for growing teams.

We also experience sync conflicts when team members work offline or open the same file simultaneously (for example, design files or spreadsheets). This can result in duplicate or conflicting versions, which then require manual review and cleanup.

From an admin perspective, controls and visibility are limited unless you’re on higher-tier plans. Things like detailed audit logs, advanced permissions, and better reporting would be helpful for managing access and compliance across departments.

Finally, over time, folder sprawl becomes an issue. Without strict governance, shared folders get cluttered, making it harder for employees to find the right files quickly, which impacts productivity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox solves several everyday workplace problems related to file access, collaboration, and data security, which directly benefits how we work.

The biggest problem it solves is fragmented file storage. By providing a single, cloud-based location for documents, teams can access files from anywhere and on any device. This supports remote and hybrid work and reduces dependency on local storage or VPNs.

It also addresses version control and collaboration issues. Features like version history and file recovery help prevent data loss and make it easy to revert changes, saving time when mistakes happen. Shared folders and links simplify collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.

Dropbox also improves operational efficiency by reducing email attachments and manual file transfers. Overall, it helps us work faster, stay organized, and collaborate more effectively while keeping data secure.
