Effortlessly Collaborative and User-Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Dropbox for four to five years, primarily for work-related collaborations as a teaching assistant. I find Dropbox to be a very easy platform to use, significantly easier than other options like Google Drive. Setting it up was a breeze; it felt like all I had to do was click on an email, and it was ready to go. Dropbox efficiently helps us collaborate on the same documents, which I find to be one of its best features. This ability to work on shared documents is particularly beneficial for me. Additionally, Dropbox allows for sharing documents as links while utilizing very little Internet, which I appreciate for its efficiency. I am particularly impressed with the ease and quickness of using Dropbox, which makes me inclined to purchase it again. My positive experience is reflected in the likelihood of me recommending it to others. On a scale from one to ten, I would rate my recommendation a nine.

Effortless File Sharing, Reliable and Free
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Dropbox for its ease of use compared to other services like Google Drive and OneDrive. Setting up Dropbox was straightforward and hassle-free, making it the easiest among the file-sharing solutions I've tried. I love Dropbox's seamless file-sharing capabilities that allow me to move files effortlessly between my computers, and its functionality is particularly beneficial when I'm off-site, as I can conveniently access my files on my laptop. The automatic background syncing feature is something I value greatly because I can create a folder on my main computer, and it syncs with my other devices without any additional effort from me. I simply drop files into the folder and access them whenever needed. Another useful feature is the automatic photo upload from my camera to Dropbox, which makes organizing my photographs with Adobe Photoshop Organizer much easier. It's a lot more convenient than using a USB cord. Overall, Dropbox meets my needs effectively without any complications, and everything just works as it should. This reliability and simplicity are key reasons why I rate it highly and would likely recommend it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't paid for Dropbox and have been using it for free by keeping my usage low. However, I've had to pay for Google Drive despite my dislike for it because it is linked with the Google infrastructure. I would likely prefer Dropbox if it were integrated into this infrastructure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox to share files between my computers easily and access them on the go. It syncs folders automatically, simplifying file management without extra effort.

What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox’s free storage is quite limited, with only 2 GB available on the basic plan. This is significantly less than what competitors like Google Drive, which offers 15 GB, or MEGA, which provides 20 GB, give to their users. For most people, this small amount of space is quickly used up, making it almost necessary to upgrade to a paid plan sooner rather than later.
When it comes to pricing, Dropbox is known for being secure and reliable, but its paid subscriptions are relatively costly. Other services often provide more storage or additional features for a similar price. For instance, the individual “Plus” plan is about €12 per month for 2 TB of storage, whereas Google One or Microsoft 365 tend to offer better value, especially with their integrated applications.
In terms of file management, Dropbox’s interface is straightforward and easy to use, but it lacks some advanced organizational tools. Features like tagging, color labels, or more detailed sorting options are missing, which can make managing a large number of files less efficient.
Another consideration is that Dropbox does not offer full end-to-end encryption. While your files are encrypted both during transfer and while stored, Dropbox still has the technical ability to access your data if required for security or legal reasons.
The mobile app is reliable for viewing and sharing files, but it falls short when it comes to editing documents. Compared to Google Drive or Office apps, Dropbox’s mobile experience is less versatile for creating or making significant changes to files.
