    Non-Profit Organization Management

Buggy but useable

  • January 10, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Good way to share large print-ready and/or photo files. We use it for newsletters, sending large photos to the National Endowment, etc. Very reliable in terms of security, speed, integrity of the files.
What do you dislike about the product?
Recent "upgrade" was really a downgrade, because the system now forces you to share an empty folder & populate it later. Also, drag & drop feature doesn't work at all. But because it's free, of course one feels like one shouldn't complain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast, free transfer of files. Saves time as opposed to loading files onto flash drives and physically delivering or mailing them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When you want to upload files, your only options are to create & share a new folder or upload to an existing folder. If you create a new folder, you have to add the email of the person(s) you want to share with, and then the folder is shared - empty - before you can upload anything to it. There is no other way to create a folder that I can see. It's annoying but it doesn't prevent you from using the product.

Also, the drag and drop option doesn't work. Don't bother. Just go to the right side and click on "Upload Files." Save yourself a couple seconds.

If you can get past the inefficiencies, it's really a very helpful product.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
iPhone, Mac, PC

Highly recommend it

I like that it syncs with all of my devices and a large amount of memory. It makes practice management more efficient.

What's Not To Like About Dropbox?

  • December 14, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is everywhere I need it. They keep updating, adding smart features, and improving user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Call me naive, but I honestly haven't found anything to dislike about Dropbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If I need to save anything for any project, venture, personal or business, it goes into a DropBox folder. Forget running out of storage on your hard drive or an external drive. It's peace of mind in the cloud.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Admittedly, I have not used Box or any other cloud-based storage app, but then again, I haven't needed to move away from Dropbox.

Wonderful for storage and collaboration

  • December 13, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can save documents, retrieve them from anywhere, and share them with my team. The amount of storage we have and the ability to easily share documents make Docusign a gamechanger for us. I also like that I have the option to save the documents on my computer as well as in the cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't really any things I dislike. I used to not like that you couldn't scroll through photos, but that has been fixed! Occasionally we run into issues with syncing, but that hasn't been happening as often. It would be great if they could have something identify documents that haven't been used recently and suggest cleaning them up or moving them to an archived file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox is a great solution for accessing documents from anywhere. Sometimes my remote log in doesn't work and I can't get to important documents when I need them. WIth dropbox, that is no longer the case!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great way to share documents and photos with clients, co-workers, and potential clients.

Dropbox use with Adobe Lightroom shared catalogues

  • September 26, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is easy to use, clients love it and we can share photo and video files easily amongst our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit confusiing, using the folders on your drive, syncing to the cloud and making it cloud optional. After a bit of work it gets easier. Knowing it is always able to restore your assets is comforting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Dropbox to synchronize our lighrroom catalogues and assets between us and clients to make sure all is up today. Effectively, we use only one catagoue, and making a small metadata change by one user almost immediately synchronizes it with all other catalogues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For our needs, it was better than google drive, as the syncing of lightroom catalogues were seamless in dropbox, but always threw errors in Google

Convenient, but not perfect

  • August 01, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The convenience of reaching files from anywhere. I like that files can be stored locally on a personal computer, in addition to just being "in the cloud."
What do you dislike about the product?
When I use the website to download and open a file at work, changes on the file aren't automatically updated to the file online unless you save it and upload it. I understand that it's part of the trade-off with using files that are opened on the computer itself and not online. It also limits collaboration. I also know that's the point of Dropbox Paper, but I've never used that because my workplace uses Google Drive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a teacher, I do a lot of work on my home computer that I then need to easily access from computers around the school. Dropbox allows me to do that, whether it's with Word documents, Powerpoints, or other files.
