Not much but sometimes it doesn’t support outer organization members to be a part of.

Flexible with good chat management but has documentation challenges

What is our primary use case?

We use the Sendbird JavaScript SDK for a React Native mobile app, specifically to manage all of our chat software. Instead of having our own WebSocket application for users to be in group channels or chat rooms, we use Sendbird for all of that.

How has it helped my organization?

Sendbird serves as our WebSocket application, managing data on chat rooms and users connecting with each other.

What is most valuable?

Sendbird is very flexible, and they have made great strides towards optimization. The features that allow you to quickly gather chat rooms and chat room data, as well as messages for each chat room, along with the caching capabilities, are extremely helpful. The ability to quickly get up and running with minimal work and get people in chat rooms is very valuable for us. Sendbird serves as our WebSocket application, managing data on chat rooms and users connecting with each other.

What needs improvement?

At times, there are unexpected behaviors where the documentation suggests something different from how the SDK actually behaves, requiring us to create workarounds.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Sendbird for about a year and a half now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability has never been a problem; not once. It's been fantastic.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Sendbird is highly scalable, and we are not concerned about our app growing and hitting limits.

However, occasionally unexpected behaviors from the SDK lead to challenges such as rate limits. We're aware of the limits on the number of users in groups or chat rooms, but we're not worried about these limits at the moment.

How are customer service and support?

Their support team is helpful and responsive. They have a forum where both the community and support team respond quickly, and we've had good experiences reaching out to them.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I actually don't know anything about their pricing.

What other advice do I have?

Be aware of rate limits and watch out for any quirks or unexpected behaviors as you're building out your app. I would rate the solution seven and a half out of ten.

Stable, but not flexible to extend

What do you like best about the product?
Easy integration, quite stable platform. Messaging devilery has quite good rate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sendbird Uikit. Very difficult to change something, every time we need to implement workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We provide support chats for our customers.

What do you like best about the product?
Features are fairly robust and there are consistent updates, so I feel like there's effort being made to scale up and take customer feedback into consideration.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, Sendbird works well for user to user messaging, but features for admin messaging could be improved. We'd like the option to include images for Announcements and to automatically segment users based on things like geo, within Sendbird.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enables our users to communicate directly with each other, enables us to send weekly update messages to target user segments. Also enables us to create different channels for different user typs.

What do you like best about the product?
I like using this app because it helps to streamline in-app conversations with current, existing and potential clients. it makes things easier to help mange multiple conversations at once
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it seems to freeze, and sometimes it's hard to close the app and then get the same conversation back - I feel like they disappear and then I worry I cant get them back again
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In app quick converstaion with potential and current clients. have benefited from being able to instantly chat with people as they are going through the sales process and helps manage sales
