What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. With Fulcrum you can create simple apps with zero coding, and complex apps with minimal coding. You can't do everything but we've certainly done a lot. We've used our top techies to make powerful data collection apps, and let total newbies write the simpler ones. Everyone has succeeded.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is that since it is an "app within an app" I can't create some fields or relationships that I am used to when hard coding in, say, MySQL. But that's not what this is for. I could never complete a collection app this quickly by scratch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have created a complex time card system with Fulcrum and it works! There is literally nothing on the market that compares with it. We have created apps to collect monitoring data and even crunch some of the numbers within it. We can then export to an xcel spreadsheet and already have Means and Standard Deviations populated.

Simple and elegant solution for collecting field observations

What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity and lack of obstacles between getting started to working productively. Fulcrum stands apart from many other mobile data collection solutions for the straightforwardness of setting up your data collection efforts and getting them underway. It's an intuitive and stable solution that we have relied on many times for gathering field data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Watch your user numbers, as it can be costly to keep a bunch of users in the system if they are not active.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basic GPS-based data collection using custom attribute forms designed on the platform.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the convenience of the mobile application. I think that when doing active data collection, the ability to capture real-time data for viewing later is very helpful. I think this is one the best tools that I have seen for surveying.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if the names of the photos could have a name that can be linked to the specific data point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Earthquake reconnaissance. The benefits are the instant ability to collect data. I also like the two access portals: desktop and mobile.

Fulcrum Makes Data Collection Quick and Easy

What do you like best about the product?
It only take a few minutes to get a collection form up and running. If we need something done without much prep time, Fulcrum makes it so easy to get going right away.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to collect lines or polygon geospatial information would be extremely helpful along with the ability to collect points.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to implement ways to speed up the data collection process and make sure all of the data is collected in the field. Fulcrum allows us to organize all of that data, make sure we aren't missing information, and attach photos and other assets to that form.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fulcrum is fast and easy to use, but there are some limitations in the data you can collect. You can usually work around those limitations if you're creative.

What do you like best about the product?
Fulcrum provides an extremely versatile set of tools that lets you create your own app in just 10 minutes. On the other side, using advanced functionalities, it gives you the possibility to create very sophisticated forms, including complex logics and calculations, interoperability from and to third-party systems and a nice, fully customizable, report generator.
Personally, I like the very easy integration with Google Sheets for data analysis, the possibility to import custom map layers and attention to details the developers put in the features provided.
No programming knowledge is required to use Fulcrum but knowing some JavaScript allows you to develop an app really tailored to your needs. Programming with Fulcrum is quite easy and it is possible to learn from zero just using it.
Fulcrum support is fast and very attentive to your requests and questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that the Fulcrum mobile app interface, even if totally usable, might be a bit more modern and user-friendly.
The licensing system is challenging for us. As a non-profit organization, we usually develop apps that will be used by agencies or governments and it is quite difficult to convince them to pay for each user who will use the app. Having additional licensing packages could solve the issue we are facing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fulcrum is able to significantly ease our work, reducing the time spent collecting, processing and organizing data. In our organization, we use Fulcrum to collect data of informal houses in the field. Once this data is collected, we process it, while in the field and using Fulcrum, in order to automatize the design of the needed retrofit interventions and to calculate their cost.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the 'Professional' plan for free using the trial period, have a look at the possibilities that calculations field and 'Data Events' give and contact the support foe any questions you might have.

What do you like best about the product?
Very Straightforward, Great Interface, and Easy to Pull Data
What do you dislike about the product?
Price is a little high for my small operation, but I'll just have to pass it on to the client. It's too good not to use. I also kind of hate SAAS models, but at least my data isn't locked away and held hostage; I can download easily in multiple formats and be done with them whenever I'm ready.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's great for field work. Photographing cemetery stones, getting locations, and tying that data to people and deeds.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I was using the highest tier to be able to utilize complex relations in the database. It's really worth it for me. You don't have to be a database administrator, but understanding how table relationships work can help you decide what tier you need. If you don't understand that, I'm sure reaching out to someone at Fulcrum to help you decide which tier is best for you will help you so much.

Flexible Solution for Your Data Needs in the Field

What do you like best about the product?
Fulcrum is a customizable platform that has a lot of great options for tracking data in the field. I love that we can customize it ourselves, it is flexible, provides offline data storage solutions which push to the cloud when you are in wifi or cell range. The geo-tracking in this app, and it's ability to lay those points over top of a Google map or an uploaded map of your choice. The Fulcrum Tech Support team has been very responsive to our requests over the years to make upgrades to the system, and even though we may wait in a cue, we know they will get around to our requests and discuss them with us.
What do you dislike about the product?
This app does not have the full reporting functionality I would like for our operations. Everything exports in excel, and we have to build queries form there for our reporting. But their online platform has some View functions we are able to use in place of reporting, and it's been steadily improving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this to find fixed assets in the field and track distribution to them. The barcode function, the geo-tracking function, the ability to take and store pictures, the ability to calculate the amount of material distributed, see what our staff are doing in the field, track information on customers and assets, and documents issues in the field has been incredibly beneficial to us. The offline capabilities are difficult to find within other apps.

What do you like best about the product?
Fulcrum is extremely user friendly and very easy to customize. I specifically like the ability to define roles and what field members may be able to edit and view in the field, as every persons role is different. It is built to be used by a wide variety or team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it is easily customized, you are limited in the functions your app can perform. Certain limitations include incompatibility with pdf files and some limited options within the app builder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing large sets of data with varying information. We use the app for the construction of about a thousand stormwater systems. With each assets information in the app, including all billable items, we can download the csv files and use them directly for payments. This process would be near impossible without the real time updating and ease of organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a variety of users/team members who need to access a lot of information then Fulcrum is the way to go. It's enjoyable and easy to set up and use, and very easy even for people with little tech experience. For construction, it makes field and office coordination extremely easy because of the live updating. If you know what information you need available and how you want to view it then Fulcrum has a way of doing that.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked that you could list and filter down to each specific address, if needed. Tons of data accessible when you needed it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only Con I can say is that sometimes it was slow but I assume it was because of the amount of data stored.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Fulcrum to track and report on tens of thousands of addresses in the city of Pittsburgh that we were performing upgrade work on as part of a franchise agreement with the city. It definitely made it easier to have this data readily available to multiple teams at once.
