Flexible Solution for Your Data Needs in the Field
What do you like best about the product?
Fulcrum is a customizable platform that has a lot of great options for tracking data in the field. I love that we can customize it ourselves, it is flexible, provides offline data storage solutions which push to the cloud when you are in wifi or cell range. The geo-tracking in this app, and it's ability to lay those points over top of a Google map or an uploaded map of your choice. The Fulcrum Tech Support team has been very responsive to our requests over the years to make upgrades to the system, and even though we may wait in a cue, we know they will get around to our requests and discuss them with us.
What do you dislike about the product?
This app does not have the full reporting functionality I would like for our operations. Everything exports in excel, and we have to build queries form there for our reporting. But their online platform has some View functions we are able to use in place of reporting, and it's been steadily improving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this to find fixed assets in the field and track distribution to them. The barcode function, the geo-tracking function, the ability to take and store pictures, the ability to calculate the amount of material distributed, see what our staff are doing in the field, track information on customers and assets, and documents issues in the field has been incredibly beneficial to us. The offline capabilities are difficult to find within other apps.

Efficient and Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Fulcrum is extremely user friendly and very easy to customize. I specifically like the ability to define roles and what field members may be able to edit and view in the field, as every persons role is different. It is built to be used by a wide variety or team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it is easily customized, you are limited in the functions your app can perform. Certain limitations include incompatibility with pdf files and some limited options within the app builder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing large sets of data with varying information. We use the app for the construction of about a thousand stormwater systems. With each assets information in the app, including all billable items, we can download the csv files and use them directly for payments. This process would be near impossible without the real time updating and ease of organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a variety of users/team members who need to access a lot of information then Fulcrum is the way to go. It's enjoyable and easy to set up and use, and very easy even for people with little tech experience. For construction, it makes field and office coordination extremely easy because of the live updating. If you know what information you need available and how you want to view it then Fulcrum has a way of doing that.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked that you could list and filter down to each specific address, if needed. Tons of data accessible when you needed it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only Con I can say is that sometimes it was slow but I assume it was because of the amount of data stored.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Fulcrum to track and report on tens of thousands of addresses in the city of Pittsburgh that we were performing upgrade work on as part of a franchise agreement with the city. It definitely made it easier to have this data readily available to multiple teams at once.
Fulcrum is an absolute game changer for any business that relies on collecting data.
What do you like best about the product?
I Like the easy of use when making my own app. The process was very intuitive and only had a slight learning curve. Many of the features are beyond me (a non technical professional) but there are still a plethora of features that allowed me to create a customized product for my business.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to make my fulcrum app available for users to view in the Apple Store and Google Play Store so I can share our information accordingly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's allowed me to take my business from having no product, to having a product that I can take to market.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be willing to invest your time learning how to create your own app. It took me a few days until I had the final product I wanted, but there are enough resources/tutorials out there between the Fulcrum website and Youtube that will guide you along the process.
Great Use for Wild Collections
What do you like best about the product?
Both the isolation and field collection apps are essential for my work at Northwestern University. Fulcrum is easy to use and provides the researcher with many options for field collecting and is also a great platform for exporting isolation data. Exporting s-label data is key for my analysis; Fulcrum makes the process easy to understand and allows a range of variables to be included in the downloads.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only part of Fulcrum I dislike is that it's a bit slow for someone who is very familiar with using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accessing GPS data is important for a project I am working on with ArcPro GIS. Fulcrum allows me to export data that I can then upload to my map in GIS. These data points reveal where Caenorhabditis worms are most prevalent and allows me to target certain Hawaiian islands and areas to collect in the future. Knowing where to go collect is crucial for saving the lab time and money.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to develop applications on the fulcrum platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have any issues at this time. Fulcrum is very flexible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increased visibility of the product to be delivered.

Treat the rollout of fulcrum like any other platform. A thorough understanding of your data is necessary.

What do you like best about the product?
Once and done data gathering. No paper, no clipboards, no transcription. Fully realizes the technical powerhouses our modern mobile phones have.

No lines. I need to draw lines. A heap of our data is linear.

Data quality and consistency are hugely improved.

The only limitation I've discovered is my ability to use the data that comes back in... the data is amazing and we've struggled to fully put it into use in the rest of our systems.

What do you like best about the product?
It has really streamlined our field data collection and also aids in training staff using the systematic format to ensure they collect all the data needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Super complex for some of the advanced programming ao I need to take some time to figure that out. Otherwise, it still provides everything I need without it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All our field data is systematically collected and stored on the Fulcrum database for later access.

What do you like best about the product?
The customization and drop-down menus in each form. Data manipulation on the back end to present to clients more efficiently. Photo options to help collect a truly complete set of observations. The ability to sync in the field and for project leaders to see the data right away.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of some options in drop-downs or that the option you type in doesn't save on that form for that project so it must be entered continuously. Having to sync all apps when you just need to sync one. If all field are not filled in on the form, when downloaded they show as unrecorded even if the information wasn't needed for that project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fulcrum helps to record field data with much more ease, but also to assure we always have the forms we need with us. It helps with costs due to download ease and data manipulation. I like that the apps and records can be filtered to find everything quickly. The many ways to export that data if great (for example in a pdf, excel, or into gINT).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend talking to your Fulcrum contact to get some tips right away. I use an Ipad with a heavy duty case and that works great in the field as opposed to a phone. Think outside the box with how you can use Fulcrum!
