Capture Field Sample Descriptions without Internet or Cell Service

What do you like best about the product?
The app and website are both easy to use. It was easy to set up the data capture templates using the website tools. The templates were then uploaded onto the user's phones by simply refreshing their app. The users require minimal training to use the app.

Uploading the users data to a common cloud-based database by simply refreshing their app is probably the best feature of Fulcrum. No data loss and no duplication of data with multiple users.

We also like the licensing. We are seasonal users. So during the off-season we just keep one account active in order to save our templates and access our database online.
What do you dislike about the product?
No real cons. Probably could be advertised more with some real-world examples on how to utilize the software. We learned about Fulcrum word of mouth.

Uploading background images could be easier. We currently create maptiles using TileMill which can be tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Fulcrum in the mineral exploration industry where our sampling crews capture their field sample descriptions on their Android phones. Android phones are simpler to use as we can load background maps as maptiles into the app (a bit tricky to load onto iPhones). Crews record sample descriptions, take sample photos, and capture GPS coordinates all with their phone. Cell phone service or Internet is not required while in the field. The sampling crew refresh their phone app when they get back to camp in the evening where satellite Internet is available. So by the end of the day everyone's field data has been uploaded to the cloud. Head office can view progress within a few hours either with the map viewer on the Fulcrum website or by loading into the company's GIS database.

simple experience of everything feasible to accomplish
What do you dislike about the product?
limitations in importing (10,000 maximum), inability to determine proximity without higher costs, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ending malaria! We worked in Rwanda in several 10s of thousands of structures. We also digitally enumerated the most rural parts of Ethiopia, and then went in to validate whether theses structures were valid or not valid structures for protecting against malaria.

only thing I wish Fulcrum would add is ability to upload line data. sometimes you need to connect the dots.

Look into utilizing the product at a higher level, with webhooks and integrating with other software.

What do you like best about the product?
Fulcrum is generally very easy to use, from the creation and admin of projects on the website through to using the mobile application. Administering our users and account settings on the website is also very straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only a couple of minor dislikes around missing functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fulcrum gives us a very simple method of enabling untrained users in the field to collect location data quickly and accurately. The data sharing functionality then gives us a very easy way to access the data using automated methods, so that the data can be used in our own applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The mobile app and website are a pleasure to use, making the setup of projects very easy and enjoyable. The level of support provided by the team is also excellent.

Good standard functionality but lacks white label options

Smooth and robust data offline and online synchronization
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no white label customization option
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used it for retail distribution auditing and gps stamping and data management was very helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a quick solution with simple input options then this is your solution. It does not have white label option which was a limitation but is very easy to use, secure and robust

The Best Reporting App Ever

What do you like best about the product?
The fact you can edit your own menus and fields! Game changer! No more paying extortionate fees for a company to do something you can easily do yourself.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot archive records, which means whoever is using it in the field needs to scroll through hundreds of older jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fulcrum has significantly reduced the amount of steps required to get a PDF report to a client. We can now do this onsite, as the job finishes, without the need to use any other applications or devices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to get familiar with the desktop version and set up your apps. Once complete, life becomes a lot easier.

Data exporting is one of the features I like in Fulcrum.

Sudden increase in the cost of the application.

The organization I am working for is using Fulcrum for data collection from field.
It is simple and friendly user interfaces.

What do you like best about the product?
The team at Fulcrum listens to feedback and acts upon it. Very professional.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing comes to mind. They have come up with add ons that I hadn't thought about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The integration of sub-meter accuracy and time/data records are my most favorite. They have just come out with a feature that blurs faces, which is handy when working around the public.

Transformative application

What do you like best about the product?
Once you start working with the app you will see all sorts of possibilities for it. We started using it for just one process to collect the data. Now we are using it for over 150 different data collections applications. Other departments have also picked up the application and are using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to design the lay out of the PDF a little more. If we could apply a logo or a header to the page, and have a table print out in the PDF would be nice. Also to have different pins that could be dropped would be nice instead of just changing the color of the pins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used fulcrum to move away from paper record keeping to digital. It's allowed us to make a data collection app and share it with a group of people who can all add their inputs.

Keep improving the application, we love it.

Possible to configure "apps" to suit our specific needs

Allows for instant sharing of valuable insights from the field between the field and office-based teams
Ability to download well-organized data to .csv files
Ability to work offline
What do you dislike about the product?
While there are quite a few complex features that can be added to the apps, they were not easy to implement on my own. Their technical team was quick to help though!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
e use Fulcrum to record information about vehicles and our product in the field to ensure we have clean and organized records of work completed and issues encountered. This has unlocked immense value for us. It allows managers to review work to maintain high quality. Using Fulcrum has also allowed for large amounts of field data to be gathered and quickly transferred from our field team to our engineering team when necessary.
