Transformative application

What do you like best about the product?
Once you start working with the app you will see all sorts of possibilities for it. We started using it for just one process to collect the data. Now we are using it for over 150 different data collections applications. Other departments have also picked up the application and are using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to design the lay out of the PDF a little more. If we could apply a logo or a header to the page, and have a table print out in the PDF would be nice. Also to have different pins that could be dropped would be nice instead of just changing the color of the pins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used fulcrum to move away from paper record keeping to digital. It's allowed us to make a data collection app and share it with a group of people who can all add their inputs.

Keep improving the application, we love it.

What do you like best about the product?
Possible to configure "apps" to suit our specific needs
Easy to use
Allows for instant sharing of valuable insights from the field between the field and office-based teams
Ability to download well-organized data to .csv files
Ability to work offline
What do you dislike about the product?
While there are quite a few complex features that can be added to the apps, they were not easy to implement on my own. Their technical team was quick to help though!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
e use Fulcrum to record information about vehicles and our product in the field to ensure we have clean and organized records of work completed and issues encountered. This has unlocked immense value for us. It allows managers to review work to maintain high quality. Using Fulcrum has also allowed for large amounts of field data to be gathered and quickly transferred from our field team to our engineering team when necessary.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility in creating apps that help me quickly and efficiently capture data in the field. We work with many different clients with varied data needs and the ability to tailor our reports to meet their needs sets us apart from our competition. We also find great value in the workflow abilities of the app. It is very easy to export shapefiles for further processing in GIS software or import existing shapefiles and count of the reliability of the data once imported. The help, assistance, and tutorials from the Fulcrum staff make it quick and easy to get up to speed on getting the most from the app. Quick training can save addition time when utilizing contract help.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is the lack of ability to adjust/edit data form in the field. If we were able to create forms or edit the data collected in the field it would increase our flexibility. At times we may need to edit the form for collecting data while on site and away from a desktop. I am not sure how much more challenging this would make the script for the app to complete. It would also be nice if we could tie the satellite image base to a higher resolution source, such as NearMap to increase the accuracy of our base.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is increased efficiency in the field with data collection and sped workflow in the office in processing data. We can complete work quickly in the field and turn around projects rapidly to our clients, providing more value to them. It is also beneficial to clients we have helped establish their own account and we can move data back and forth to increase collaboration. We are able to dynamically manage tree canopies remotely working with staff on the ground to make long-term decisions with sound data.

User friendly, but powerful and reliable tool for data collection

What do you like best about the product?
The Fulcrum Community is a fantastic resource that promotes open data sharing and has been a wonderful tool for us within the academic community doing post-hazard reconnaissance. The reliability is great - we've never had issues with syncing problems, missing data, or anything else. It just works. The ability to bring in external layers through projects like OpenAerialMaps and Mapbox are also very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to be able to collect more than just points. It would be great to also collect polylines and polygons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Fulcrum within the Structural Extreme Events Reconnaissance network to coordinate and conduct post-disaster structural assessments of buildings and other structures. Using Fulcrum has dramatically improved our workflow and ability to coordinate and involve other collaborators. It allows us to collect better data, more rapidly, so that ultimately we can better learn from the data how to mitigate future disasters.

Complete unity in data collection

What do you like best about the product?
We have multiple sources of data in field that require daily collection and organisation. Before Fulcrum, this was all done by paper and manually input to a database for client delivery. Since using Fulcrum, we have saved countless hours in manpower in this one task alone. Being able to have full control of the data that is being input into the system has eliminated any chance of possible incorrect data input and illegible data entries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since we are an Australian based company, gathering support from the team has made it difficult due to time zone differences. Having a representative closer to our time zones would alleviate the time gap in support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having multiple work fronts from different disciplines in the field means a great deal of traditional paperwork was being submitted on a daily basis. This often lead to misplaced data sheets, incorrect formatting of data retrieval, data being input into incorrect sections. Having a unified system that allows single point entry, controlled formatting, and allowing for only certain users to have access to their relevant app has cleaned up the data offloading process for the client.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Our team has used a slew of other data collection software previously. We used Fulcrum first and looked to see if there was any other companies that either matches or exceeds what Fulcrum can offer. In my opinion, not one program come close to what Fulcrum has to offer when it comes to ease of use combined with full functionality.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of getting up and running with an application, and being able to modify on the fly, also sharing the results of a field inspection by generating and emailing a report from the field is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the level that we use Fulcrum no specific dislike comes to mind. It simply does what we ask it to do, and does it well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently we are collecting Job Safety Analysis reports which detail specific safety hazards for each job. We produce a customized report for distribution. This report meets a compliance requirement from the customer and we are able to provide detailed, time stamped, located information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Allow Fulcrum to help you get up and running. Their services team really helped us.

Completely customizable solution for my business

What do you like best about the product?
As a crop advisor in fresh produces market, my team and I need an app permitting to catch all the infos from the fields. And since we cover so much crops (from strawberries to cabbage and groundcherries in the between) with a lot of different pests and diseases, we had no choice to build all our forms by ourselves. Fulcrum was the answer to our needs. Beeing able to localate all the infos on a map is a great advantage for us too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe we would like a little more capacity to customize the report we generate in pdf.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Fulcrum, we worked with pads and papers, a lot of paperwork... Now all we need is our cellphone or iPad to have all the info at a touch of our finger. No more lost paper.

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of Fulcrum is incredible but being able to share the data right into my GIS product through GeoJSON is the best. I see updates of data on both sides of the usage. When I make a change on the Fulcrum App I see the change on QGIS.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish is could also collect lines segments so I can make
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We currenty use fulcrum to Collect 911 Address points for our county. We once had to go out, get the address from measurements and then come back and draw them into ArcMap. Now i take my phone out, collect the point, enter that data I would have entered into the fields on ArcMap and then it pushes the data to QGIS which in turn pushes the data to PostGIS for my GeoServer. I LOVE IT.

Affordable alternative with flexability and eas of use.

Affordable, Customizable, Robust Data Collection

What do you like best about the product?
Fulcrum is such a powerful tool for data management at any skill level. You can easily push it into other platforms for analysis, documentation, and presentation. After reviewing a number of similar platforms, we selected Fulcrum for its ease of use, data privacy, and cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fulcrum is so great that it's hard to dislike much. My only comment would be that data collection is limited to point features. It'd be great to collect data for polygon and path features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building assessments and inspections. We previously documented data manually on paper in the field. Data was then entered in spreadsheets back in the office which consumed a lot of valuable staff hours. We long sought a platform to help gather and digitize data. With Fulcrum, this process is now seamless in the field.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fulcrum is easy to pick-up and above and beyond capable of managing robust data. Don't hesitate to reach out directly to Fulcrum support if you have initial questions. During my trial period testing the platform, I frequently had questions and their support team were always responsive, quick to help resolve problems, and also offer workarounds for complex tasks I needed.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like about this app is the functionality, it is robust & direct, it does not mislead or take you in loops where ends you up going around the entire process, what makes it direct is simply because it gives you exact data needed without taking to multiple pages or simply say that with a single click, you have your full raw data/report.

For its functionality, it is designed for basic to advanced users which makes it simple & truly serve its purpose. Nevertheless, unlimited to more outside-the-box functionalities (i.e. custom programming that caters the front-end applications).

Moreover, its technical support is highly supportive regardless of your skills. It supports me in giving a walk-through on your query & provide classy recommendations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, I am happy with the system..not to consider the downtime, which is more of technical aspect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fulcrum gives me an accurate reporting in terms of getting the real-time data/feedback in the market.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend the use Fulcrum if your line of business requires heavy use of survey. It will really help you get accurate & real-time solid data. It support team is amazing and can help you in anyway regardless of your skill-sets or understanding of the system.
