I use HT to synchronize data from a warehouse to third party and in-house applications.

  • August 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the way HT does error handling. When creating a custom endpoint for a sync, like a cloud function/lambda/etc, I can define how HT will deal with exceptions. If I surface them to HT one way, HT will automatically retry that sync (if I configure the sync to do that). If surfaced a different way, there will just be a message associated with that record, and the sync will not be retried. This has been helpful in a recent project where many syncs need to be constructed and tested without spamming me with nuisance sync errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
My typical development pattern is to create a model in HT using straight SQL, build a sync, test, and later create a dbt model. It would be nice if I could easily transition the existing sync to the new model. But since a sync is a child of a model, I have to create a new sync. The "Edit as JSON" button is useful for this, but it would be ideal to just swap the model without rebuilding the sync.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company has multiple third-party and in-house applications that share data. Reports need to be generated that inclue multiple data sources. We have selected a data warehouse architecture, where data flows into the warehouse from all applications. HT allows data to flow from the warehouse to individual applications (which need to share data with each other). We could build such pipelines ourselves, but it there would be a significant development and maintenance cost.

Useful data we wouldn't have without Hightouch

  • August 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is very user friendly, clearly seperated into the relevant categories and easier to navigate than other tools we have used. It makes segmenting our audiences and testing much easier
What do you dislike about the product?
I personally haven't experienced any major issues with using Hightouch, I only look forward to learning more about the platform to be able to use it to the best of my ability
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an email marketing developer, it is very useful to identifying very specific groups of customers with particular niches so that we can perform more targeted tests and see how they perform

Very flexible, easy to use

  • August 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy working on Hightouch. It takes away a lot of manual work I would need to do otherwise. It's easy to use and I like that you can organize your syncs into folders.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's a bit burdensome when you need to copy a setup from one Workspace to another - I wish it would be handled better instead of logging me out of one Workspace because I opened another.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps me take some manual work and automate it. It also makes it easy to pull a lot of data at once and add it to any source I need. It saves me a lot of time every week

The standard for reverse ETL

  • August 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Hightouch is just incredible. It has everything one can think of A to on connections, a simple and clean interface, excellent documentation, and advanced but easy-to-set-up alerts. My favourite feature is the dbt integration.

Combined with the incredible pricing, all that makes Hightouch de facto the standard reverse ETL solution in the modern data stack.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I can't think of anything. Hightouch has nailed it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Hightouch exclusively as a reverse ETL solution. We precalculate some critical metrics in our warehouse. Pushing those metrics to tools like Salesforce unlocks our team to see the data where it is needed instead. of using a plethora of tools. This doesn't just result in faster reaction time and unlocks proactive actions, smarter decisions, and, most importantly, trust.

What do you like best about the product?
It gives our team a reliable method of taking data that's usually quite difficult-to-wrangle and making it actionable and measurable across our growth and product stack.

Hightouch helps us take take data that wasn't previously accessible to us as Growth PMs, and allows us to use it to power all kinds of messaging and product experiences.

Complements Iterable well

  • August 10, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Hightouch as a data connector between our data warehouse and email software (Iterable). It's easy to understand for a no-code position.
What do you dislike about the product?
We did have an incident where an intern accidentally added the wrong thing to Hightouch which caused 1000 wrong emails to be sent. We then implemented the review feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It can be hard to connect our data warehouse events with our email software so Hightouch creates data models / tables that can trigger actions in our email software.
