Easy to Learn and Efficient
What do you like best about the product?
I was able to pick up Vinyl without much prior coding experience and create my first useful app in a month. The tutorial for beginners goes over an excellent baseline of the basics you need to learn, and there is lots of documentation and a broad community that helps you improve.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interfacing between the data and the website was never really clear to me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using data to streamline the auditing process. For example, I am making audits more efficient than using spreadsheets by autofilling repetitive fields and making the UI more ergonomic. I also use it to make aesthetic charts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is great. Make sure you really understand the basics before moving on and get into the knowledge base and community blog.
Operational Portal Development
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility is very appealing. Having the ability to change UI with just a couple of keystrokes is fantastic. Also, having the ability to add/delete, and rearrange the data display quickly is a real game-changer for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have enough time to increase my understanding of what the total potential is for this platform
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Vinyl as a portal for operational data entry/collection. We do not currently have an MES in place. We feel that this has the potential to bridge that gap.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Vinyl's ability to connect to various data sources/systems and show data inside a single application, so there is no need to switch applications constantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a pretty steep learning curve before you can develop a little bit more advanced applications. However, their LMS and documentation are very well structured, which helps a lot while learning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instead of hiring developers to develop custom applications for each business need, with Vinyl, you get a solution that enables you to create every possible application quickly inside a single platform. Compared to similar solutions on the market, their pricing is very affordable.

What do you like best about the product?
We use multiple Zudy applications to power a number of unique elements of our media business. VINYL allows us to aggregate key intelligence in a single place, simplifies our employees' workflows, and powers crucial reporting to pull it all together. Our awesome architects help us make the most of the VINYL platform - can't say enough good things about the Zudy team. Don't hesitate to use VINYL to build your next custom application!

That I don't have more time or budget to work with Zudy!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing complex rate cards and non-traditional "inventory" for multiple teams that previously had very few software tools. No other solution had the level of customization needed to run these sides of our business.
Impressively productive design environment for data processing apps
What do you like best about the product?
Vinyl has a very productive user interface for application development and takes away many of the time-consuming data-processing and security management development tasks. Designers can therefore focus on the business requirements and develop fully working applications within days. Do you want more than the comprehensive standard functionality? No problem: they offer full integration with HTML, Javascript, external programs, and with most external databases that can be mixed and matched.
What impressed me as well, is that you can design your user interface to such a level, that we now use the same application design environment for the back-office as for the visually attractive smartphone APP that is used by our members.
This design environment is complemented by a support team that is both responsive and friendly, and, more importantly, focused on producing the functionality that you want to achieve.

What do you dislike about the product?
Basically, there isn't anything that I dislike about Vinyl. It takes a (brief) learning curve to split every functionality up in a database, a logic (business rules) and a user interface part as many of us are used to seeing each program as one complete item, but when you experience the productivity gain that is achieved with this 3-way split and develop more functions, it becomes like bread and butter: easy and you can add any layer or request that you want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I started with a request for a smartphone APP. A development friend with over 20 years of experience in 4GL's advised Vinyl, but I was very hesitant because the smartphone APP was for our customers and an attractive UI was the number 1 requirement. So I started with hesitance but was fully convinced within 2 weeks. Now we are moving also our back-office development to Vinyl. For new functionality, it proved to be quicker to re-design in Vinyl than to adapt our existing system.

The ease and ability of standing up Production-ready apps on the fly!

Better Release Management (or at least a more formal system of promoting changes form Dev to QA/Prod)

What do you like best about the product?
Vinyl continues to support their clients and keep their systems up-to-date with new features. Whenever I have a question, I receive a swift response.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost might be a little more than the competitors, but you get what you pay for. I prefer this system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to track time and materials, estimates, and safety has helped with our automation process and review inputted data for analytical purposes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Vinyl offers a lot. If you're looking for a systems reboot, a better way to combine your data points, or want to get ahead in a tech-lagging industry, Vinyl is the best low-code/no-code option. They teach you well with their courses and offer great support.
Unique and Powerful Solution
What do you like best about the product?
What makes Vinyl unique is that while it is quite simple to use, only requiring a basic understanding of HTML and CSS to get started, it is very powerful. It allows almost complete customization of the user-facing content while seamlessly maintaining the back-end. This tool is fantastic for small teams, enabling team members to, in effect, become full-stack developers without diminishing the end product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside to Vinyl is the steep learning curve for some of the more advanced features. While many of the basics are covered in the built-in LMS and are well documented in the wiki, some of the more advanced features are lacking in proper documentation. That said, their support team is very responsive and can always find a fix, even if it means pushing out a hotfix for only one person.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My business is a growing Software as a Service company, developing software for first responders; our current focus is on emergency medical services, but we are expanding to the fire service in the future. Vinyl is allowing us to rapidly build out an application and get it into the hands of the people that need it, even with our lack of authentic coding experience. While our team has plenty of HTML and CSS knowledge, we lack in the languages that would be needed to build a standalone solution without a low-code solution like Vinyl.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a low-code/ no-code solution or are a small team that needs to focus on development now, I highly recommend Vinyl. Their systems allow you to jump straight into developing your user-facing experience with minimal setup.
Excellent business systems integration platform
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, wire diagram view, great support, dedicated technical expert and customer success manager. I like that we can build all our integrations on a single standard platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost was a little more than I originally wanted. We now use it to integrate all our major business systems so the ROI is great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used it to connect ADP, Aspire (our CRM system), NetSuite ERP financials, and SQL Enterprise database. We are working to increase its use in business reporting metrics through moving data from GoCanvas to SQL where we can create reporting with Power BI.
Amazing API Product
What do you like best about the product?
Jitterbit was extremely helpful in bridging the gap between two of my company's most critical business systems. Without having much knowledge on how to code, the Jitterbit system as well as their excellent resource guides and employees made reaching our end goal achievable and fun!
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints on our end! Everything about Jitterbit has been excellent!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our goal is to reduce the number of manual processes within our company. Using Jitterbit, we have reduced hours spent on specific projects allowing those resources to be allocated to other divisions within the company.
