A necesity for every MacOSX user.

What do you like best about the product?
It allows me to use several OS at the same time on only one laptop, the alternative would be using 2 laptops or partitions on my MacBook with the annoying downtime between reboots.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having an OS setup on VMware takes slightly longer than a native one since you have to set VMWare tools and configure file permissions between the host and the VM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running several copies of windows and Linux in my Macbook.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can have the VM running without VMware tools, but they are a nice to have in almost every setup

A necessary program for every MacOSX user.

What do you like best about the product?
You can run programs that are not available in MacOSX. Office performance is the same inside or outside the VM so I can work in the VM and use my MacBook as a Windows machine.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fusion itself is an amazing program but it would be better if the apps ran natively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running applications that are not available natively on MacOSX
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can run as many VMs as your PC supports but for better performance is better to run 1 or 2 at most.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can export and import VMs, I changed my MacBook and exported my Windows VM, then imported it into my new MacBook and worked perfectly. All my windows apps were there and worked exactly the same as in my last machine.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, really solid and reliable software, some applications run even better than in my windows laptop
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running Windows applications in my MacBook
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is no real alternative for Virtualization in MacOSX, this is just the best.

A must have for every MacOSX user

What do you like best about the product?
It allows me to run products that are unavailable for my operating system without hard or complicated setups or another computer. I just need to install a copy of windows and then it will allow me to run things like project and Visio without any issues at all.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all, I think the software is just perfect. Works exactly as expected and does it very well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running programs that are not available on MacOSX like Visio.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your company pays for your Mac then ask for a copy of VMWare fusion. If it's a personal machine the license price is very decent, totally worth it.

What do you like best about the product?
Around 95% of the Linux and Windows applications I have tried run really well. All the applications I need to do my job run very well. It's possible to run several VM at the same time and allow communication between them.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little confusing the setup for some things like network access and sharing files between the VM and the host OS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running Windows and Linux applications directly from my Macbook.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Change the resolution inside the VM and not from the VMware fusion settings for better performance.

What do you like best about the product?
Allows me to run programs like visio and project that are only available on Windows directly on my Macbook and they run even faster than in my old Lenovo. I can run two versions of Word, one in my Macbook and another inside the VM.
What do you dislike about the product?
No downside for me, it does exactly the things I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running Windows programs without having to use another laptop
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can run several machines at the same time if needed but it will run slowly

What do you like best about the product?
Some programs are only available on Windows and that's life. With Fusion you can open those programs directly on your MacBook without needing another laptop dedicated to Windows so you can have the best of both worlds.
What do you dislike about the product?
If your VM is encrypted with BitLocker the computer gets hot very fast and stays that way until you close it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Windows software on my MacBook without the need to have a partition dedicated to Windows.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can have more than one VM with the same programs installed in all the VMs but with different settings, a huge time saver.

What do you like best about the product?
Allows me to run applications that otherwise will need an extra computer, excellent Windows 10, Suse and CentOS support. Because the MacBook has better hardware many application run better in the virtual machine than natively on my last computer
What do you dislike about the product?
When opening fusion it briefly disconnects the principal network adapter of the MacBook creating a brief pause in the network and VPN connections
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running Windows applications and Linux scripts directly on my Macbook without the need of rebooting or switching hardware
Recommendations to others considering the product:
VMWare tools are your friend. Makes the experience a lot more enjoyable over time.

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can run Linux and Windows apps directly from my MacBook without needing to reboot to change the operating system or using another laptop, applications sometimes run even better inside the VM than natively in another PC running the host operating system.
What do you dislike about the product?
While software runs amazingly well some drivers that run natively on Windows or Linux can't be installed in the Virtual Machine.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running Windows and Linux applications on my Macbook
Recommendations to others considering the product:
VMWare tools are your friend if you want to keep the Virtual Machine for a long time, it makes the integration more smoothly.

  • June 24, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There are some softwares only available on Windows and not on MacOSX and with fusion I can use them like I used them in my old computer. The software runs even faster in the virtual machine than in my old windows computer.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was hard to understand at first how to share folders between my mac and the virtual machine, the setting is there but it took me hours to find it. Once I found it it think everything is perfect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can use Windows-only programs in my Mac
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Set the Virtual Machine right once and you'll save a lot of time in the long run
